*Barrons? Good GAWD, holy @*$#!! No wonder everyone talks about him so much. He’s one of scariest, sexiest, most enigmatic uber alphas, ever! YUMtasm!
*Why is this series marketed as romance?! It’s clearly not...just straight up UF folks.
*Where the feck is the steamy sex between Mac and Barrons?!?! I definitely had the wrong impression about this series, I guess. I mean, come on...it’s the Fever series for feck’s sake! There better be some heat ahead in Dreamfever and/or Shadowfever considering the sizzling sexual tension that’s been building and smoldering for three books! I need potholders to protect my hands from being scorched!
*Just what the feck is Barrons anyway?!?! It’s driving me fecking crazy! Why can’t he ever answer one of Mac’s fecking questions?!
*And talk about a fecked up, depressing, cliffhanger ending from hell! Mac doesn’t get it on with Barrons but she has to suffer being gang raped in a sick, twisted Death-By-Sex Fae orgy?! WTF?!?!
*But yeah, I’m still giving it 5-stars because it kept me up until 3am to finish and I’m seriously addicted. Now on to Dreamfever to continue my crack!

WOW! I don’t know how I can possibly do this book justice with a review, bu**spoiler alert** 5++ stars – Colonial American/Frontier Historical Romance
WOW! I don’t know how I can possibly do this book justice with a review, but I’ll try to at least convey what makes it so astounding. As irrevocably moved as I was by Surrender, I loved Untamed just as much, if not more. It’s utterly enthralling...I simply couldn’t put it down and never wanted it to end.
The MacKinnon’s Rangers is an amazing series with an exciting, perfect combination of history, action, drama, and sensual romance that’s uniquely set during the French and Indian War with rich, well-crafted characters that are impossible not to love, especially its unforgettable, to die for, swoon-worthy heroes.
The MacKinnon brothers are proud Scotsman forced to fight for their bitter British enemy against the French, who share their Catholic faith and political alliances. They lead a band of notoriously fierce, unrivaled warriors known as MacKinnon’s Rangers, whose steadfast loyalty has been sealed through bloodshed, sweat, and hardship.
Major Morgan MacKinnon is gravely wounded in battle while saving one of his men and taken captive by the French. Considered a prize political prisoner, the French plan to interrogate him for information about the Rangers and British forces and then turn Morgan over to their Abenaki allies, who will torture him in the most heinous way, by burning him alive. But to achieve their political aims, they need him kept alive, so they charge French convent-bred Amalie Chauvenet to nurse him back to health.
Amalie, who lost her beloved father during the British attack on the French Fort of Carillon, has every reason to hate the MacKinnon leader of the barbarian Rangers, the killers responsible for his death. But her Catholic duty won’t allow her to deny him care. As she tends Morgan’s wounds, she can’t help but feel compassion towards him, and it’s not long before Amalie realizes that he’s not at all the savage that she’s been led to believe, but rather a man of profound honor and integrity.
Morgan is enamored by Amalie’s exotic beauty, kindness, and innocence and deeply moved by her healing touch and forgiveness. Amalie, who’s always felt different and alone due to her sheltered life in the convent and mixed French and Abenaki blood, feels drawn to Morgan in ways she can’t understand.
Amalie, frantic and determined to save Morgan from a death of fire at the hands of the Abenaki, convinces her guardian, Major Bourlamaque, to spare his life in exchange for fighting for the French and training their soldiers with the Ranger methods. Morgan, if free to choose, would rather ally himself with fellow Catholics and fight with the French against the British, but he would slit his own throat before betraying his brothers or his fellow Rangers. Faced with an impossible situation of death by torture or treason, Morgan agrees to join the French but with his own secret agenda of playing spy until he can escape and get back to his men.
But he didn’t anticipate that his grudging respect for French commander Bourlamaque and growing feelings for Amalie would make betraying and leaving them to honor his first allegiance to his brothers and the Rangers so difficult. As Morgan and Amalie spend more time together, their intrinsic emotional connection and explosive attraction develops into a searing passion that can’t be denied, but can their relationship survive against all odds?
Every moment that Morgan and Amalie share is heartfelt, romantic, sweet, and sensual. They brought out the best in each other, and their love gave them the courage to face numerous obstacles. I absolutely loved them together! And their love scenes are emotive and erotic. Author Pamela Clare pens some of the most passionate, moving, sensual, memorable, and scorching hot love scenes in romance, and Untamed is certainly no exception. Whether it’s a waterfall, a bearskin rug, or creative use of a mirror in a cozy cabin, the steamy moments between Morgan and Amalie are beautifully written, deeply emotional, and intensely arousing.
I adored Amalie and admired her humility, guilelessness, giving nature, gentle strength, compassionate heart, and courageous spirit. She was the perfect match for Morgan, and I found her complete trust in him and genuine devotion, through passion and peril, both touching and inspiring.
And Morgan? Good gawd, there just aren’t enough adjectives in the dictionary to adequately encompass what a wonderful hero he is. Sexy, strong, caring, brave, loyal, gentle, protective, honorable, patient, a tender, skilled, and sensitive lover, and willing to sacrifice himself in a heartbeat for those he loves.
I’m mega crazy about Iain, but I’m madly in love with Morgan, too. I don’t think I can choose between them, so I’d rather just be in the middle of a MacKinnon sandwich. And I have no doubt I’ll love Connor just as fiercely when his story comes out in Jan’2012. I can’t wait!
With a rugged, majestic, dangerous frontier setting, captivating, complex characters, intense emotions, and touching, lushly sensual romance between a lovable heroine and a to die for, sigh-inducing hero, Untamed is a powerful, unforgettable, and heartrending story that will stay with you long after it’s over. The MacKinnon’s Rangers hold a special place on my keeper shelf. Big 5, swoonalicious stars!
Here’s my MacKinnon casting choice ’cause I think he could play Iain or Morgan quite deliciously.
This had a good story, a smokin' hot alpha highlander hero, and steamy sex, but I didn't like it quite as much as her MacL4 stars – Historical Romance
This had a good story, a smokin' hot alpha highlander hero, and steamy sex, but I didn't like it quite as much as her MacLeods of Skye trilogy. Still, hot highlanders and hot sex are reasons enough for me to read the rest of the series. :) ...more
