Now that’s how you narrate an audiobook! Actor Stephen Lang (he was the bad guy in the movie Avatar and played the main character, Joe, in an 80’s movie, Band of the Hand, that I loved back in the day) read this perfectly and really brought the story and characters to life....more

I gotta admit...this was a big letdown/disappointment for me, especially considering how much I loved the other books in this series. The first 40-50% was boring, slow, repetitive, and confusing, and it felt like there just wasn't really anything happening. Fortunately, the last 20% was pretty great and made me glad I didn't give up and DNF the book. But still, overall, this was just an okay read and definitely my least favorite of the series....more
“Flawed” indeed...not to mention infuriating, cheesy, choppy, rushed, melodramatic, and nonsensical. I didn’t like the he1 star – Contemporary Romance
“Flawed” indeed...not to mention infuriating, cheesy, choppy, rushed, melodramatic, and nonsensical. I didn’t like the hero or heroine (at all) and felt absolute nothing, zilch, for their contrived, supposedly deep, emotional, powerful, all-consuming connection/love besides frustration. And the big, dark, earth-shattering, soul-destroying “secret” that kept the H/h apart for five years was utterly ridiculous. Needless to say, the “romance” fell very flat and the disjointed storyline and characters just didn’t work for me....more

I honestly had little interest in consuming more milk from this overused cash cow, but the library had it. Part of me was curious, so since I didn’t have to pay for it, I figured, what the hell? Grey’s Fifty Shades of Fucked-Up POV was actually better than I expected, and I especially loved not having to listen to Ana’s uber annoying inner goddess....more

I know a lot of my GR friends and fellow KA fans loved this one, but it was really only a tad bit better than ‘just okay’ for me. I mean, I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t love it, either. And I found myself annoyed with both the leads and some of the secondary characters for much of the book.
*Too much unnecessary angst and D-R-A-M-A!
*I thought Millie’s big secret/reason for pushing Logan away was honestly rather lame. (view spoiler)[Okay, so she found out she couldn’t have kids (unexplained infertility), and they both really, really wanted a family together. So, yeah, that sucks, but it happens to a lot of people. When you really love someone that much, you talk about it and work through it together. I mean, they could’ve adopted, been foster parents, or volunteered/worked with kids. (hide spoiler)]
*Logan and the Chaos club/members were total, mean jackasses to Millie, and I never felt like there was enough apology or groveling from him or the club in that regard.
*Elvira and her girl posse were really annoying in this.
*It was refreshing that Logan and his ex-wife had a civil, friendly relationship.
*Too much story/page time spent on the bratty antics of Logan’s daughter, Zadie, and them trying to make things work for her. I honestly lost interest and started skimming.
*Scorching hot sexy times between Logan and Millie!
*Favorite swoony Logan quote:
“All the rest of days, every one, every day since I first laid eyes on you. Today’s no different. Fuck of it was, even when I didn’t have you, I felt it. Which was why I never let go. And today’s no different. No different from every day I had from the first day we met. Waking up in love with you. Day’s almost done, gonna go to sleep more in love with you.”
