Writer Joy asks her playboy neighbor to reveal his darkest sexual fantasiesI read DROP DEAD SEXY by Elisa Adams in the The Hottie Next Door anthology.
Writer Joy asks her playboy neighbor to reveal his darkest sexual fantasies and deepest desires with women for her magazine article. When he insists on showing her, rather than telling her, the two are suddenly caught up in a wild, kinky encounter that’s more than either of them ever bargained for. Soon their hot affair turns into something deeper, but they are both keeping dangerous secrets that could threaten their new found happiness. This was a mediocre, abrupt, and disappointing story with a silly twist ending. 2 stars....more

Silk Scarves and Seduction
This is a sequel of sorts to Whipped Cream and Handcuffs about Tessa’s best friend Valery “Blush” Taylor and Caleb’s best friend Dr. Marc Ford, who have acted like sworn enemies since high school, even though they have both secretly lusted after and loved the other for years. Caleb’s successful seduction of Tessa gives Blush a wicked idea of how to tease Marc, by sending mysterious packages with erotic photography of her and sexy silk scarves. But how will she respond when her plan for anonymity is foiled and Marc shows up, with her silk scarf in hand, intent on seducing her? This is another smokin’ hot story, and Marc is just flat-out too delish to be true. I mean seriously, a sweet pediatrician with Matthew McConaughey good looks, who’s also a master in the bedroom...y-u-m-m-y! ...more

When she offers to submit to all of Caleb’s kinky bedroom demands in exchange for him taking her virginity and teaching her all he knows about sex, it seems too good to be true. It’s been a while since I’ve read a regency historical romance, and although it’s not my favorite romance genre,4 ½ stars – Historical/Regency Romance
It’s been a while since I’ve read a regency historical romance, and although it’s not my favorite romance genre, I still enjoy them on occasion, especially when it’s a captivating story with intriguing characters that keeps me entertained, and Olivia Drake’s Seducing the Heiress, which is the first in her An Heiress in London series, definitely held my interest.
Miss Portia Crompton is just a commoner, but she’s the hottest thing to hit the society scene thanks to a nice, fat dowry from her father accumulating vast wealth in India. She’s grabbed the attention of the city’s most eligible bachelors, including the illustrious Duke of Albright, but notorious rogue, rakish womanizer, and alleged murderer Colin Byrd, the Viscount Ratcliffe and archenemy of the Duke, is determined to claim young Portia as his bride in order to win her cushy dowry for himself to restore his dwindling financial status.
Ratcliffe holds no delusions about romance and love and sets out to win Portia’s hand purely for money and vengeance against his rival the Duke, but he never anticipated that her inner fire, strength, and beauty would end up charming him. Viscount Ratcliffe is arrogant, persistent, and oh so devilishly tempting to innocent Portia, even though she’s secretly sworn her heart to childhood love, Arun, in India. But Portia is no air-brained fool, and she knows exactly why the Viscount is pursuing her so ardently, but can the charismatic rogue Ratcliffe convince her that he also desires her heart?
I really enjoyed this story, loved the characters, especially devastatingly charming, sexy Ratcliffe, and the sexual chemistry and tension was off the charts sizzling and entertaining. My only real complaint is that I would have liked a bit more of Ratcliffe and Portia once they finally came together and became a ‘couple’...and of course an epilogue would have been a cherry on the sundae, but I’m hoping we’ll get to see more of them living happily ever after in the second book in the series, Never Trust a Rogue, when it comes out in Fall’2010. 4 ½ stars!

Has the stress and hectic pace of the holiday season got you down? Are you feeling a bit more bah humbug Scrooge than joyful Buddy the Elf? Do you need a good dose of holiday spirit?
Got Mistletoe? is a delightful, sweet, heartwarming, and romantic story that’s sure to provide some holiday cheer, inspiration, and a reminder that human connection and love are the reasons we get up every day and why the holiday season is a such a perfect time to celebrate that with those we love.
For such a short story, I was impressed by the level of details that give real insight into Blake and Ryan’s characters and made their immediate emotional connection and fast developed relationship believable, heartfelt, touching, and hot. I hope to see a follow up story about Blake and Ryan to find out where life takes these devoted lovers in the future.
Here are a couple of my favorite lines:
“Blake said, fighting the urge to reach out and run his fingers lightly on his elf’s sweet face. His elf. Good Lord, he’d already started thinking of the imp as his, and Ryan had barely said more than a few words to him.”
“Ryan knew he was the type of man a lot of men didn’t find attractive. Oh they thought he was okay in a rainbow-flag-flying kind of way.”
Got Mistletoe? is guaranteed to leave a big smile on your face and give your heart a Grinch size makeover! 5 stars! ...more

WOW...there just aren’t sufficient words to express how much I loooved this book! This is one of those books where everything just clicked and came alive for me and makes 5 stars seem wholly inadequate. I loved absolutely everything about this: the heartwarming emotion, the laugh out loud, sometimes sarcastic humor, the fantastic, relatable characters, the witty, honest dialogue, and the inspirational life lessons imparted. It made me fall off the couch with laughter one minute and then wipe my eyes with tears the next.
Lucy is such an adorable, genuine, funny heroine, and I felt like I was struggling right along with her on her journey of personal discovery, emotional healing, self acceptance, and love. And OMG, Theo, there just aren’t enough adjectives or superlatives to describe how utterly delicious he is...both inside and out! He’s without a doubt one of the most heart-stoppingly sexy, sweet, caring, attentive, honorable, sensitive, tender, swoon-worthy, and husband-worthy heroes ever! I just flat-out loved him! I found myself rooting for Lucy and Theo’s romantic relationship, individual growth and contentment, and HEA like a bubbly, sappy cheerleader.
Most women cope with self-esteem issues of some kind in their lives, and it seems like we waste so much time and effort hoping and striving for unrealistic, unattainable perfection. Lucy’s insecurities and personal battles are poignant and realistic, and He Loves Lucy is a delightful, touching, sweet, and romantic story that will have you smiling, cheering, laughing, and crying (especially if you’re mushy like me)! This is the third Harlequin romance I’ve read by Sarah Mayberry, and I’m happy to say that so far her books are a strong 3 for 3 for me in terms of earning 5 stars. I’m continually impressed by the level of character development and realistic, honest drama that’s conveyed in her stories. And she wowed me once again with this sweet, emotive story of a hot, responsible widower with two kids trying to forge a tentative, yet hopeful friendship (and then inevitable relationship) with his sexy new neighbor.
After losing his wife 2 years ago, Joe Lawson never expected to find love and happiness again, especially with an independent younger woman who’s a bold spitfire like tomboy biker and mechanic Hannah Napier, but life is full of surprises and Hannah might be exactly what Joe and his family needs. I loved everything about this story. Joe makes such a swoon-worthy, wonderful hero, Hannah is a strong, yet vulnerable heroine, Joe’s troubled, grief-stricken 13-year-old son Ben and adorable, spirited 10-year-old daughter Ruby add depth to the story, the relationship progression between Joe and Hannah is realistically paced, and the romance is steamy, yet tender.
Home for the Holidays is a heartwarming contemporary romance that packs a real emotional wallop and had me shedding a few tears more than once. I highly recommend this engaging, touching Harlequin quick read romance that’s a perfect story for the holiday season! 5 stars! ...more
