Just as good as the audio book, mostly because, as I found out, the audio book didn't include all the interviews from the book. Which I can understand, the audio book is over 6 hours long!
Nevertheless, I am glad I listened to the audio book first, I don't think there're any interviews in the book that I would have missed particularly, but it's hard to tell.
I actually finished this on Christmas Day, and my Dad was interested in it, so I've lent it to him to read on holiday.(less)

It took me a while to really get into it, but as I got closer to the end I was positively racing along!
The fact that I'm a sucker for a love story helped a lot :D
I especially loved the mentions of BCers I know, and it was a little frustrating not having internet while reading this, I kept wanting to go and look things up!
OH, and I think I've somehow ended up with Lakelady's copy of Sonnets From The Portuguese, which I didn't realise until after I'd read it! Thanks to Skyring for that one :p(less)

This one is scary, but SO well done, and I'm glad to have finally read it.

TBR when I get home!) and absolutely loved all the scenery, food, etc in Italy. Then my sis went to Italy and went to Pompeii (long time dream of mine!) and seemed to have a fabulous time there), and then I read this book.
*going off to add the Lonely Planet guide to Italy to my amazon wishlist*
What an awesome adventure to go on. I'm going to do that one day!
And yes, I was sorely tempted when I saw Vroom With A View at the bookshop on the weekend, but I was good :-)
I've promised to send this back to Alkaline Kiwi, so I'll put it in her Christmas package :-) (less)

This book was just as stunning as the Griffin and Sabine story, not told in postcards/letters, but there are still parts to fold out, look at for hours, and then go back and peruse after I finished the book, and understood more of the clues!(less)

I think if they ever do a movie of this book that it would be interesting, some of the character traits that Jacob exhibits would translate themselves better to that form of media than writing does at times.
Interesting reading about IEP's from the perspective of the parent, rather than the teacher.

It was actually pretty good - I wouldn't go so far to say it's the best thing I've ever read, but it was fast paced, interesting, and kept me reading!

I studied economics at school in years 10, 11 and 13 (year 12 economics clashed with Maori so I had to choose between them and Maori won so I did accounting instead, which only taught me that I definitely do not want to be an accountant!)
This book doesn't really talk about economics per se, instead, it uses economic strategies to find out answers to interesting questions like what school teachers and sumo wrestlers have in common. It was written well, and in a way that made me want to find out more, even when I didn't always (or ever!) understand the methods used to figure out the relation.
Which brings me to the books failing - I would have liked more explanation about what the terms meant (yes, I'm a lazy reader and didn't always have access to a computer to look up what things meant!).
While I didn't always understand how they got the numbers to prove whatever they were trying to show, the authors did at least make me feel as though their conclusions made sense. And they definitely made me think, which I believe is one of the key ideas in there, even if it doesn't have a unifying theme! And to be quite honest the chapters flowed well enough that it didn't feel as though it needed a unifying theme!
So 4 stars from me :-)

I gave it 4 stars because while I found the end to be extremely addictive, the beginning was a little hard to get in to.
Although that's probably due to my own idiocy - it took me up until the 2 Will Graysons met up to realise that the chapters were written alternatively by one Will Grayson. Even though I KNEW there were 2 Will Graysons! So then I restarted it, and it made a heck of a lot more sense!(less)

I agree with previous readers - the funny parts were funny, the deep parts were deep. And that this book spoke to me about what it is to be human.

Luckily this is a fairly short book, so I finished it quickly! I mostly enjoyed it - although I found it hard to relate to the main character, or maybe I was just trying to disengage with what happened. I'm glad I read it though, and I'd like to read the rest of the series.
I'll be passing this back to Alkaline-kiwi when I see her next.(less)

But when I put down the last book I finished (Will Grayson, Will Grayson) I realised that I didn't really want to keep going. Especially now that I'm only supposed to be reading one book at a time. So I'm officially giving up.
I felt like the entire book should have been written in lower case letters, because nothing exciting really ever happened. As far as I could tell the main character went backwards and forwards between New York and San Francisco, and was disappointed each and every time. Maybe if I'd read the last 100 pages he would've had some sort of epiphany and it would have ended happily, but I suspect not.(less)

Started this book the other night and am already enjoying the poetic like writing style. Can't wait to see where the story takes me :D I think I know who I'm gonna pass this on to too :-)
I shouldn't have read the extra bits at the end, they my rating go down from a 10 to a 9. For some reason this spoke to me more as a piece of fiction than as an autobiography. No offense to Natasha.
Nevertheless, I still enjoyed this book a lot! The writing style, as I've pointed out already, was incredibly poetic, and I could relate to Anoushka/Natasha's story a lot.
Natasha's love of Africa shone through in this novel, and this captivated me - it's always nice to read a book where the author has such an obvious love for her topic.
Anyway, I'm going to send this off to WingedMan when I return his copy of Swish to him.(less)

I was curious how she was going to get a 'story' in to it - it must be difficult to assemble a blog into a book - with a blog you can just kind of tell it as it unfolds, but to then try and collate it into a book would be more challenging, so kudos to Abby for doing it well!(less)
