I think it only took about 45 minutes read it, and that is saying a lot when you have four little kids running under your feet. Thomas is the one telling this story, and I really enjoyed seeing everything from his perspective. Very entertaining! Keep 'em coming! (less)

No, not all of them were great, but I enjoyed the vast majority of them. (less)

It is pure MaryJanice Davidson fluff (and I mean that in a good way!). Dead over Heels is made up of three novellas. The first is about Betsy and Sinclair's honeymoon, the second is set in Fred the mermaid's world, and the third is about two of the Wyndham werewolves. All three stories are cute, fast, and fun to read! (less)

The Boys Go Fishing Sarah Smith 1.5 stars Weird superhero/immortal story. The story was disjointed, and the way the characters spoke and thought was odd. I felt like I was watching a Kung Fu movie and reading the subtitles. You know how the lips and the voice don't match? Yeah. Like that.
One For The Money Jeaniene Frost 4.5 stars I was surprised at how much I enjoyed this Cat and Bones short! I think any fan of the series would love this one!
Meanwhile, Far Across the Caspian Sea Daniel Stashower 3.5 stars I've never read anything by this author before, so I was pleasantly surprised by his story. I wasn't sure where the plot was going, but it had a nice twist at the end.
The Innsmouth Nook A. Lee Martinez 4 stars This was one of the shorter stories in this collection. It was funny, abrupt, and not at all what I expected. Loved it!
Safe and Sound Jeff Abbott 3 stars Safe and Sound was a story about a college boy who goes missing on an island somewhere in South America. It is told from the viewpoint of Nora, who is a thinly disguised version of Nancy Grace. Be warned, if you are a Nancy Grace fan, you may not like this one. Me? I can't stand Nancy Grace. I thought this was hilarious! I had to take one star away, because the last paragraph with the mother brought the story too far down for my taste.
Seeing is Believing L. A. Banks 3 stars Eh. It was ok, but the ending was really abrupt.
The Perils of Effrijim Katie MacAlister 2.5 stars This would probably have been better if I was familiar with this series. I'm not, so it wasn't.
Thin Walls Christopher Golden 2.5 stars Meh. I think the moral to this story is that if you don't cheat on your dead wife while you are on some sort of mecca to say goodbye to your marriage, then you'll survive having a run-in with a succubus. I could be wrong, though.
The Heart is Always Right Lilith Saintcrow 2 stars I was looking forward to reading Saintcrow's story, but this was just...not good. Maybe these characters are part of a series I've never read? At any rate, I didn't like the characters, the world they lived in, or the wacky plot.
The Demon in the Dunes Chris Grabenstein 2.5 stars I think this guy is probably a pretty good storyteller, because his characters seem to have depth, but The Demon in the Dunes...is stupid. Well, the plot is pretty good. Until you get to the end. I won't give the spoiler, but I will say it's cheesy.
Home from America Sharan Newman 1 star If you're going to write about something as dorky as leprechauns, make sure it's a mildly interesting story.
Pirate Dave's Haunted Amusement Park Toni L. P. Kelner 4 stars I'll admit I said a silent prayer before I started reading this one. Pleasepleaseplease don't let this one suck! I've slogged through some stinkers to finish this entire book, and I'd like it if the last story didn't piss me off. I'm very afraid I won't ever pick up another anthology again if the plot is as stupid as the name. Pirate Dave's Haunted Amusement Park? Pleasepleaseplease work a miracle for me! So, it was good. A very fun story about a new werewolf on vacation to her favorite childhood amusement park. I would definitely read more by this author!(less)

A collection short stories from the Dresden Files, including the new one that takes place immediately after Changes. Aftermath was the reason I wanted to get my hands on Side Jobs, but there were also quite a few of Butcher's other short stories that I hadn't read yet. Mostly, I just skimmed the stuff that I'd already read, but there were two stories in particular (Backup and Warriors) that I found myself unable to stop from reading again. I'm not big on reading something more than once, so it kind of took me by surprise when I got sucked into those stories again. I guess what I'm saying is, that even if you're not a big fan of short stories, I'd recommend you give these a shot. Speaking of Changes, did anyone else notice the new picture of Jim Butcher in the jacket of this book?(less)

The Last Prophecy - Jennie Andrus 4 Stars This one was a pretty fun PNR/thriller. It's gets an extra star just because the sexy hero is also a shape-shifting moose! Who thinks up stuff like that? Evidently Jennie Andrus.
Ritual Love - Kate Davies 2.5 Stars Well, it was short. I don't know if it was so short that it didn't have enough time to develop any kind of relationship between the two characters, or if it's only saving grace was that it was mercifully short. I really couldn't understand how she could make such a huge decision to say with him (I should probably add that she went back in time to 592 AD) after only one night with the guy.
Babe In The Woods - Lorelei James 5 Stars This one was soooo good! I loved the chemistry between Becker and Lacy! I wasn't really expecting it to be as funny as it was, either. I had a stupid grin on my face the entire time I was reading. I may have even giggled out loud a few times. So far, this is my favorite, and I will definitely be checking out this author in the near future.
A Touch Of Magic - Cassandra Kane 3 Stars It's an ok sci-fi romance. Didn't love it, didn't hate it. I thought parts of it seemed kinda cheesy and forced. I think the actual plot could have been interesting if it hadn't been shoved into a short story.
A Warrior's Witch - Mackenzie McKade 4.5 Stars This one was really fun! It had witches, shape-shifters, an evil cousin, and some sexy men in kilts. What more could a girl ask for? My only complaint is that I would have liked to have seen a few things a teeny bit more resolved in the end. Maybe just an epilogue? Still, it was a great story!
Night Music - Charlene Teglia 3.5 Stars This one was a solid read, even if it was pretty predictable. I'm kind of vampired out, if you know what I mean, so this didn't hold too much attraction in that respect. It wasn't bad at all, though, and it had a cute little twist at the end.
Ok. Overall, I'd give this collection 4 stars. It's definitely worth the read!(less)
