The best, the greatest and the unbelievable footballer player of all time, named Pele. The autobiography of Pele is an awesome book, I couldn’t stop reading for days, I like this book for a lot of reasons, and one of them is really important to me.
The first reason I like it, is because he was the first “Negro” from Brazil to visit the white house in Washington DC. At that time it was really hard to someone from American to visit the white house and especially from other country so that’s really especial from him and his carrier
The second reason I like this book is because he was a great soccer player the whole time, he won three-world soccer cup and has been nominator of best player three times in the row. God blasted a player like that.
Other reason the book make me like it and read it more, was the fact of Pele's childhood. At that period of time, at the unknown city that he was born. People had bad situations going wrong. Pele said that sometimes he didn’t eat for days.
Last reason was the fact that off all he been through, and faced at his life, he became the most poplar soccer at the world.
In conclusion, the book was great, Pele has been a trough lot different nice thing at his life, but he also had some bad conflicts happen to him, his childhood was the worst for him, so if you want to know better about this book, you should defiantly read the book....more
Awesome book, the Skeleton man was a great book about a young boy that had lots of nightmares and also happens to him iSkeleton Man, by joseph Bruchac
Awesome book, the Skeleton man was a great book about a young boy that had lots of nightmares and also happens to him in real life. I like this book for many reasons.
Since the book started the boy already had a dream and in his dream he had other dream, and it was easy to understand because the book helped me to keep following, so that's the first reason why I like it.
Second reason the book was great, was the images that was relate to the boys dream at the book. It helped me fallow each step of his nightmares. Some of his nightmares were really scary.
Last reason that I like about book, was the ending. At the end the boy end up with no solution, that author made the reader stop and thing about. That’s some of the skills that the writes use.
When my friend Delmar introduces this book to me I was happy for reading and finish the whole book, it was really interesting and I recommend to my friends.

“Just because I have different disability I cant do it ?“ said freak at the amazing book that I read called Freak The Mighty. This book was the first one that I read in English, the reason why I read this book, was for my English work in English class when I was in 8th grade and I enjoyed a lot this book for lot reasons
The first reason I liked this book, was because it got me so interest on it, that made me read it again so I couldn’t understand more, and that really helped me out, Freak was my favorite actor, he was smart, he had a strong hard and really friendly. In the story, Freak shows how his heart is strong by not paying attention when his friends laughed at him
Second reason was of the action that happen in book , at the end when Freak’s father came to take him, his best friend that carries him the whole time in the book kill his father. I like the action a lot.
In collusion, this book for a project, is a good idea . The reason why I think is easy to do a project on it, is because there is lot underlining things at this book, and is easy to understand. So I recommend to my friends and all does that is learning English.
Have you ever read a book so confusing, that when you started to read it, you would like it, but maybe later on you wouldn’t? Well, Huckleberry Finn iHave you ever read a book so confusing, that when you started to read it, you would like it, but maybe later on you wouldn’t? Well, Huckleberry Finn is one. The author was so conscious about slavery issues; he made the first African American hero book. Mark Twain made millions of people love it. However, it was so controversial that some people hated it. Because it has so much bad language, crazy accents and so many confusing words. I'm not sure if I like it or not.
What makes the book so confusing is first the accent from that time. At chapter 4, when Jim started to talk to other slaves, they had a strong accent; they couldn't say the word "speak". Instead, they only could say “Spec”. So it was really confusing for some people who have a language deficit.
Secondly what affected me the most was the curse word "nigger" was used a lot in the book? This word was so strong that it made people get offended by it. In that way it helped to ban a good book. The word nigger was shown in the book lot times, it made me sad because of the fact that it made me imagine how it was back in that time period.
Finally, after reading this amazing book, with so much confusing language, curse words and accents from the past, it made lots of people get so into it, that it interested them to know more about it. It had the same effect on me. Now, if you want to take this challenge to read a book like that, choose Huckleberry Finn.
I Just Can't Get Into Books "Pedro you better stop playing video games and start to read books ,I'm not asking you to, I'm telling you." "But mom I caI Just Can't Get Into Books "Pedro you better stop playing video games and start to read books ,I'm not asking you to, I'm telling you." "But mom I can't do it, I tried yet, when I'm reading I have difficulties." The major issue here is that I just can't get into books. I read, but I can't focus. When I'm reading I skip lines, sometimes chapters. Different things pop’s up in my head . "When we got outside of the duke of the New York we viddied, by the man bar's long liothed window." This quote is from the Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. It was complicated for me to get a deep connection of what is coming up on the next paragraph, and what I just read before that. I wish that books would talk to me and I would find them more interesting.
First I always start off excited about a book. I read the cover, look for the name of the Author, find the year it was published, skim through and see if there are any pictures, I always start out good. But then that concentration quickly disappears. I start to skip lines, and sometimes I read the first paragraph of a chapter and then skip to the end. I drink a juice, I have a little snack on the side, I make sure I'm clean and wide awake, but it just doest't work for me. When I was reading the The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain during my freshmen year, it was the most difficult book I ever read. I had to look it up on Spark Notes and read there what it was about, and what happen in each chapter so I could get a decent grade. I don't want to but i have to. It seems like a constant struggle in my self-conscience.
Often times when I'm reading a book, different things pops up in my head. Consequently, When I see a word that I'm familiar with I connect it to something else, like a song for instance. I start to sing without thinking that I have a book in my hand, my focus on the book runs away, and I find myself looking for the song on the Internet or on my ipod. The fact that my dad is miles and miles away from me doest't help me to concentrate either. Especially if I find a word that makes me think about him, it takes away my focus on the book. Many concerned thoughts jump into my head. I start to wonder about everything my dad have been trough, what is he doing at that exact moment, and if he is okay or not. I miss him a lot. This summer when I went to go visit him, its fair to say that I did not pick up a book at all.
Even more, I can't really comprehend what's happening in the book. When I'm reading and I see a bunch of pages without pictures, I get really bored and I just read without understanding what I'm reading. It's not interesting and does not connect to me. I read to myself, listening with my right ear, but it just goes right out through my left ear. I tried to read this book called A Separate Peace by John Knowles, and it says "He had unconsciously invented a game which brought his own athletic gifts to their highest pitch." When I read that my mind just zoned out and I started day dreaming. After hearing the words "game" and "pitch", every game that I ever played, and anything else about baseball that I can think of, just popped into my head.
Reading books can be hard for certain people. I'm not lying here. Everything I say is true, its happens to me. I can't focus, I skip chapters, and I can't concentrate. When I'm reading and I'm looking at a word that I'm familiar with, it makes me think of something else, and I don't even comprehend. I'm a sophomore now and I know it's not good to have the issue while I am reading a book. Recently I learned in history class, that to be a good reader we need to do public speaking and writing. I have good abilities to do both of them. The reason why I am writing this essay is to get interested in reading a book. So I can add the reading skills to my head , and connect them to my speaking and writing skills. Tell everyone how proud I am for gaining these skills and clearly tell them that my second language is English. ...more
