More than two years after I read the first volume o this saga, the characetrs were still very present in my mind, so it was very easy to return to Suze's life.
Overall, I loved this book and its adventures. It made me laugh, more times than I expected. The central characters were intersting, but, the other characters (the ones that only appear on this volume) lacked depth and interest. it's a shame actually.
Also, I'm really not a fan to so many brand names and pop-culture refernces. It's so ... outdating to the book, and it sure could live without that.
All in all, it was a good read, and I'll definetly read the remaining ones.(less)

By reading my status updates you might get a chance to understand why I disliked this book. I couldn't even get past the middle of it, because everything about it annoyed me to no end. The characters were two-dimensional, the intensive description on the characters outfits annoyed me, and later on it translates to the description of the places Anita is at, which makes it even more of a drag. Anita herself is a character and I disliked from moment one. She looks at everyone as being evil, no one seeems to have any good in them (well ... except for her two girlfriends). And furthermore, the vampires seem to have come out, directly, from the Dracula movie. Everything from their outfits, to their hideouts, screams Old Fashioned, and it's not a good thing in this case.
Summing it up, I couldn't find one single good thing about it, so that's why I didn't even finish the book.(less)

The world Patricia Briggs built here was preety amazing, and it sucked me in immediatly. I loved the way she exposed it, and the creatures she chose to show us, and how she did it.
Mercedes is a great protagonist. Strong and reliable, while still not being 'too much'. I also loved the pace of the story. It seemed really natural, and not at all forced on behalf of the action.
My only real complaint about this book, is the love triangle. It added nothing to the story,a nd only served as a distraction (a bad one at that). Oh, that and the secondary characters. Some of them really should've had more development as not to seem so ... expendable to the story. (less)
