I was slightly disappointed as I thought for sure it was goign to be a five star read... but I will tell you why in my eyes it only deserved four.
I found at times sometimes the authors world building was just a little bit boring and her character building felt like one minute you thought you had a grasp on the character and the next they were doing something I would have thought was out of character, I found that sometimes the wording began to seem like jibberish to me and I would find that I had read a page but not really have read it all.
Mostly though, I enjoyed the story. I enjoyed the charcters. And at some points I thought the writing was absolutely amazing. There were two points in which I was amazed at the author for the affect that she had on me. The first was the story that Jace told Clary about the hunting falcon and the second was the entire chapter titled "A Werewolf's Tale" Both of these items were very well written and had me gobbling up the pages.
***EDIT*** 25/10/2010 I changed my rating to 3 stars. I was going through the books I've read and found that this one did not meet my requirements of a 4 star book. ...more

I still find myself drifting sometimes as I'm reading and realizing about two pages later that I have no idea what I've just read. It's not even that I don't like the story line. The whole situation with Jace, Clary and Simon, I find very interesting. I don't know maybe it's just me and I'm in a bit of a reading slump.
I will say again that the author writes some parts in her books that really speak to me and that's why I keep on reading so that I can find more of her perfectly wriiten work it just seems that the perfect parts are buried among the crap so to speak.
The second book was certainly better then the first and I'm really hoping the third one is goign to blow me away!...more

At last the five star read I was waiting for from this series. Fantastic read, I feel that the author really came into the story with this one. I didn't have any of those feelings of being lost in this one, I wanted to hang on to each and every word.'
The characters seemed so much more real in this book, more like they were truly there with me instaed of just some words on a page. Clary and Jace's story was such a struggle and it ended perfectly.
In fact i don't see why the author is goign to do another book. Thsi was the perfect way to end it in my opinion. ...more

I love the Sookie Stackhouse noveOh Sookie Stackhouse I have been waiting for you for over a year... you just didn't do that one year period justice.
I love the Sookie Stackhouse novels and am a huge fan of Charlaine Harris's writing. Trust me she could blither on about nothing and I would enjoy it... which is sort of what this book was. A whole lot of nothing that was very enjoyable.
I felt there wasn't much of a plot... and not enough Eric, Bill and too much Sam.
I really enjoyed the beginning of the book when Sookie was getting over her torture. It was such dark writing... I really connected with her and felt that part of the book exceptionally written.
I think Ms. Harris is setting up for a wonderful plot line in the next story... I just wish I didn't have to wait so darn long to read it!...more

I got a good idea of who Mac is and I sure hope that she becomes less whiny and more kick butt as time goes on.
I like the idea of how the author used Mac's grief over losing her sister as a starting point for this book. Mac had a charmed life until one day she got a phone call saying her sister had been murdered in Ireland. She decides to go to Ireland in oder to find who did this to her since the police seem not to care.
What she uncovers is that she has the ability to sense and see through Fae glamours. She meets some interesting people. Barrons - book store owner who is using Mac's abilities for his own gain... but he he is kind of yummy. And V'lane who had Mac stripping down and begging him to 'do' her in the middle of a museum.
I still have no idea what Barrons is but I am looking forward to continuing on with the series!...more

She always seems to think of somthing that no one else has. I love how the story progressed and there are certainly a number of twists and turns along the way. I will say I didn't care for Kiyo much, but I loved Dorian!
I am re-reading the first two books in the series in prep for Iron Crowned. I love Eugenie and I think she might be my favourite character of Richelle Mead's. I will leave this one at a four star rating as it was a little slow moving in places but overall still very enjoyable.
I pretty much have the same feelings... Kiyo sucks, Dorian rules! And Eugenie needs to stop being so selfish and just deal with her issues. ...more

I loved how this one ended and I will just say that is exactly how I was hoping it would turn out... can't wait to see what develops when the next book comes out!!
I still loved this one more then Storm Born but probably wouldn't have given it 5 stars this time around. It was more around 4 stars. I won't change the rating though because the first time around this book was amazing to me and now I remember why.... on word...six letters... DORIAN.
I love him... he is one of the best characters I've read. He doesn't lie about what he wants but in his own weird way he still loves Eugenie. Kiyo is still a dufus. I never liked that guy...
The things that happened to Eugenie in this book were really hard but I'm glad she made it through them and is finally doing what she must for her people....more

We start this book shortly after book 2 and Eugenie and Dorian have indeed gone to war. It is extremely hard on Eugenie to know so many lives are being lost so when a solution falls into her lap, and with some urging from Dorian she sets off with Kiyo to find the Iron Crown.
Eugenie flips around between her men like a wet fish. Kiyo, Dorian, Kiyo, sort of Dorian again. Although the last switch I can kind of understand. If my boyfriend was tryign to kill me I would probably run to Dorian too.... actually in all situations I would run to Dorian. I still think Kiyo is a dink.
Eugenie also begins to build a relationship with her sister Jasmine. It is kind of nice to see her getting back some of the family she has lost.
Some crazy crap goes down in this book. To be honest it blew me away.. in a good way. I just really wish that these books came out alot quicker then they do!...more

I loved the book and there were certainly some twists and turns but there was still something that caused me to think (really think) about the rating. In the end I decided that anyone that can make me snatch the next book of the series off my shelves and scour the pages to find out the results of the cliff hanger from Dreamfever probably deserves 5 stars.
Mac has gone through hell in the last four books and I'm starting to think there is no light at the end of the tunnel. The book jumped right back into the main events and Mac can't remember anything about who she is and what she's done. She only knows that she wants sex. A LOT!
Eventually Mac gets back on track and joins the front line against the Fae again. She makes some self discoveries in this book that made the read seem a little darker. She definitely isn't the same Mac we met in Darkfever. I actually like her better now. Before she just seemed so flighty and irresponsible. She seems to take her actions a little more seriously these days.
The ending blew my mind OUT OF THE WATER!
If there was one thing I wanted more of in this book it was Barrons. I was always reading just one more page to try and catch another glimpse of him! ...more

Mac turned into something amazing in this book. She let all of the old Mac ways go and turned into a strong leader. It was great to see her grow into the kind of person I could like. When I first started the series she kind of annoyed me a little bit.
Barrons played a much larger role in this book. We got to know him and his past. We learned what he was and what made him the way he was. I have to say that Barrons was the reason I kept reading the books. I had to know more about him. I had to know if he loved Mac. I JUST HAD TO KNOW!
Some crazy twists and turns were revealed in this book and I feel satisfied with the ending. Nothing was really left open except for maybe Dani's story but I'm sure we will be hearing more from her in the future.
I absolutely loved this book! And I highly recommend the series!...more

When a fairy jester wants revenge on the beautiful laird Hawk he brings Adrienne through time to taunt him. But what he doesn't know is the power of true love. ( I know so corny right!)
I had a hard time developing my own view of the characters while reading this book. It was like they were blank images in my head. I wish the author would have developed them a little bit better ... and perhaps had Hawk actaully falling in love with Adrienne in a more "real" sort of way. He just seemed to be in love and that was it. At least it took her a while to come to the conclusion... and she trase dhim all the way. It was delightful!
Overall though the book was cute and no matter what I like a good time travel/ historical/ romance/ paranormal story every now and again. I will likely continue the series as I've heard it goes uphill from here.

Lisa is by far the best heroine of the series so far. She was strong and independent and Cin only added to her strengths. Our hero was yum yum yummy. He was definitely the most appealing so far.
