K. A. Tucker has created both a fantastic Urban Fantasy world (set in New York) AND a completely separate Dystopia Fantasy world! Can it get any better than that? The Urban Fantasy world Tucker created mirrors the earth in a lot of ways, but the other, Dystopia world has been completely taken over by Vampires and humans have been extinct for 700 years, AND their world has gone downhill ever since.
Evangeline is the main character in the book and I just adore her! She trusts easily and gives everyone the benefit of the doubt. If a person (or vampire LoL) breaks Evangeline’s trust or shows signs they should not be trusted, it takes actions not words to gain her trust back. I noticed this in her character right away because that is exactly how I am and this is exactly what I would look for in a friend! And, throughout the book I was in conflict with who Evangeline should trust, right along with her!
Evangeline was orphaned when her mother was killed in a car accident. Throughout her whole life she’s had a hard time getting close to anyone other than her mother, and then she loses her. In the beginning of the book, she is about to turn 18 and she is offered an amazing job making a lot of money that requires her to travel with this wealthy lady to New York!
But after she gets to New York, weird things start to happen to her. When she goes to sleep, she vividly dreams that she is actually waking up in strange places and meeting strange people. Her dreams are so vivid that, at the end of the night when she wakes up in her own bed, she can’t believe they were only dreams. What’s happening to her? And, why is this happening? Is there a reason? Who are these strange people she sees when she goes to bed? Is she living in the real (LoL) Urban Fantasy world . . . or living in the separate Dystopia Fantasy world! You will have to read and find out! The romance in this book gave me butterflies and tingles! My stomach actually did flips a couple times. What I’m getting at here is that I am, once again, in love with a fictional character! Ooo! La! La!
K.A. Tucker included plenty of unexpected twists and turns in this story, and she has written an amazing, phenomenal, and, at the same time, heart-wrenching cliff hanger of an ending! I LOVED it! I am really looking forward to K.A. Tucker’s next book! (less)

How does she create such a detailed picture (without the mind-numbing) and draw you into the storyline?
This book for me was extremely dark. It starts out with the main character named Tessa imprisoned and tortured by two awful Downworlder women. Part of the torturing; the Dark Sisters would present her with an item and she would be required to shape-shift into whomever the item belongs to. Shape-shifting is something Tessa never knew she was capable of doing. Since the Dark Sisters were forcing her to shift; sometimes a dozen times a day, it had been a painful and exhausting process. The only thing that can keep Tessa fighting for her life; is the knowledge that they have her brother in captivity and he will be let free if she does what they tell her to do. And her brother is the only living family she has left.
Immediately, I was sucked in.
One thing in particular that I really liked about this book was; that I got to see the true side of someone that is not a Shadowhunter. And seeing why so many Downworlders despise Shadowhunters.
Cassandra Clare did really well to keep everything in the Steampunk era. The worldly descriptions, the characters personalities, even the politics in the order of how someone is treated.
I found the characters that she created fascinating in their own unique way. I really like, dislike or despise each character. Check out Cassandra Clare’s description here Infernal Characters.
This book was intense, action-packed, magical, horrific and mindboggling all at once. When reading any book written by Cassandra; it is not possible to just fast read through parts of the book or it's likely you will miss something that is essential in the current or later books. And even though I was into a Shadowhunter dream with vivid detail and a book that size; it would normally take me 4 days to read and I devoured this book in 2 nights. And it was delicious!
I would highly recommend that you read Cassandra’s books in the order of publication; for example Mortal Instruments 1, 2, 3, Infernal Devices 1 and Mortal Instruments 4, but it is not necessary.
This book left me really pondering a lot about Cassandra Clare’s Warlocks. How is a Warlock created? If Magnus hasn’t aged in several hundred years, did he stop aging when he was made a Warlock? Are Warlocks born or created? I can’t wait to have all my questions answered! That is what makes the whole thing fun and exciting!
So if you haven’t joined the amazing Shadowhunter world; come join, have fun, and don’t always expect a happy ending. (less)

I am swaying between 4 and 5 stars. This book made the whole series so worth it!
The details in these books are so vivid, everything from beauty to grotesque and from magical to horror. Other books I have read, I can be a little flexible on how the characters look but with this series I have a very vivid picture of each character (they are all really **HOT** in their own unique way).
Cassandra Clare’s imagination is so amazing. Do you want a book that has vampires, werewolves, faeries, warlocks, angels, demons and forsaken? This is the series for you.
I now have a deep attachment to all of the characters, specifically Clary, Jace, Simon, Izzy, Alec, even Maia and Magnus. I love reading about how each character evolves in just a few weeks.
Cassandra Clare had to have had a very big picture of how this series would play out. When there is something that happens in the book that you would think is not relevant, you find later plays a big role in the books…and I don’t think she is done.
She does have an ending to all three books, so you can give yourself a break between books.
I have to own this series because I would really like to read them again.

It just makes my stomach turn when she describes how gory and smelly the demons are.
The first book had mainly Clary's POV, the daughter of a demon hunter (shadow hunter), but this book has POV's of other shadow hunters, a werewolf and a vampire. She also introduces beautiful AND not so pretty faeries in this book.
You learn in the first book that Clary's mother kept her in the dark of the real world. After her mother is taken by the father she thought was dead, her mom is now in a coma. She now is experiencing a dark world she never knew existed and is learning things about herself in an intense journey.
Clary's father Valentine is the perfect evil villain. He is charming and conniving. At some point I even question myself if he is the one that is evil.
I originally gave the last book 3 stars, only because I was disappointed in something that is revealed at the end. I now think that the twists are part of what makes these books so good, even if you are weirded out by it. I am still hoping that what is revealed in the first book is not really true (another twist).

What an amazing book to end a series! So much happened in this book and I can't believe Richelle Mead pulled it off!
Last Sacrifice was not just a book ending a series; it was also an amazing book that could stand-alone.
Richelle Mead has already revealed that she will be doing a spin-off series and I could not be more thrilled. So many lives had changed (a lot for the worst) due to this very intense book. A group of new characters were introduced as well. My hopes are that the spin-off will include these people.
I would like to point out that I was completely caught off guard by the person who killed the queen and framed Rose. I didn't figure it out until the last minute.
For those of you who have not read it yet, ENJOY!
Spoiler Below * * * * * * Aside from my extreme happiness that Rose and Dimitri are now together, there were so may things that happened in this book that I just LOVED!
I REALLY liked reading about Lissa in her Trials.
I would have to say one of my favorite parts of the book was when Joshua proposes to Rose and Angeline fights her to see if she is worthy of her brother. Then Rose, Sydney and Dimitri are heading of to bed and Rose says, "It's not funny!" "Your right," agreed Sydney. "It's not funny. It's hilarious."
Here are some quotes for you!
1. Abe (Rose' father)! "Ah, my daughter," he said. "Eighteen, and already you've been accused of murder, aided felons, and acquired a death count higher than most guardians will ever see." He paused. "I couldn't be prouder."
I have to say I LOVE ABE! He better be nice to Sydney.
2. "Well, well, well," I said. "If it isn't the people responsible for unleashing Rose Hathaway on the world. You've got a lot to answer for."
"Don't blame us," said my mother. "We didn't blow up half the Court, steal a dozen cars, call out a murderer in the middle of a crowd, or get our teenage friend crowned queen."
"Actually," said Abe, "I did blow up half the Court."

This book is a reminder that Vampire Academy is truly one of my favorite series. I am not going to write a descript review or I would end up giving up spoilers.
There is a major cliffhanger in the end, but it is something that I had prepared myself for being it is the 2nd to last of the series. The emotions that I got from this book are fear, frustration, sorrow, happiness and anger. The majority of this books sucks but that is what makes it so good! It is truly driving me insane knowing that I will have to wait until December for Last Sacrifice.
I have no idea how she is going to wrap everything up in one book.
I would definitely give the full series 5 stars.
I ♥ Dimitri - ALWAYS I ♥ Adrian - TOO! My happily ever after would have to be Rose with Dimitri BUT I cannot see anyone with Adrian accept Rose. Can she have them BOTH?!?!

I will now have to wait until May of next year to read Spirit Bound.
After an awful ending to book 3, I was more than eager to read this book. Rose goes against all her beliefs and leaves the one person she has spent her whole life preparing to protect.
She is on a journey to find the man that she is in love with to kill him. When Rose finds out that Dimitri has been turned Strigoi in the school attack, she knows what she has to do. Dimitri and Rose had discussed that they would rather die than be a Strigoi.

The first part of the book is in the POV of Bella and how uncomfortable she is with all the changes in her life. The only thing she is looking forward to is that she will be spending the rest of her life with to boy she is in love with. The wedding in my mind was unbelievably beautiful! I have to say that the honeymoon was one of my favorite parts in the book. I love the part when Bella wakes up and she is covered in feathers. I was dying with laughter at that part. The second part to the book is in the POV of Jacob. It is his struggle to overcome the lifestyle that Bella has chosen for herself and the heartbreak he feels because she didn’t choose him. The anger he feels toward Edward and you learn a lot about the wolves. It also comes to a point where there is a struggle between the wolves on how to handle a new situation that was brought to their attention. I really liked learning about the wolves for a change. The last part is back in the POV of Bella. This is the part where the rest of the series all ties together to finish the series. I last part of the book; one of my favorite characters really upset me.

The reason I originally this book 3 or 4 stars was because of how depressed this book made me feel. As a result to all that emotion, I could not stop reading, I read this book in 1 day. So I decided that this book should receive 5 stars. My original comment is below.
This book will cause a lot of emotion...making you more addicted. I was really depressed through the first half of the book and I even cheated and read little parts of the end to make sure that everything was going to be OK! This book made me even more consumed into the series..

From the first time I picked up this book, I could not put it down. I was so captivated in storyline, that I lost all sense of time. Stephenie Meyer's writing style for this book is amazing. It is incredible how she can put in to words all the rollercoaster of emotions that you would feel with a magical young love. I would literally feel butterflies in my stomach and the longing for the mysterious boy. To make it even more appealing was that the attraction and love was forbidden. She adds humor to how naive Bella is to the danger she is putting herself in. Bella’s actions are truly the actions any young girl has, when it comes to the bad boy she is attracted to. (less)

PC and Kristen Cast redeemed themselves! I really liked the first 4 books in the series, but after book 4 the series gradually started to go downhill.
The 5th book was "eh" and I was truly annoyed by the end of both books 6 and 7. The 2 prior books had me drawn into the story and kept me anticipating a really good ending that NEVER CAME! By that point I thought PC and Kristen were losing interest or dragging the books on too long, and they were ruining my opinion of the books. I kept thinking, “please be done already!” And, "can you PLEASE give me an ending?” Oh, and let’s not forget about all the guys Zoey kept selfishly stringing along. Ugh!
Now I am back on board! You know why??? I loved this book! The first part of Awakened I really liked, then it started to drag (I was thinking “NO! NOT AGAIN!”) but about the middle of the book I was sucked in! At that point, I COULD NOT put it down. Put it this way, I stayed awake until 3am just so I could try to finish it.
The ending to the book was A-MAZE-ING!!! There was a little bit of a cliffhanger, but it was THE perfect twist! It may be the best ending to the whole series! I know the plan is to extend the series for a few more books; as long as they keep this up, then I'm on board!

I now know that I will not give up this series anytime soon.
The intensity in the beginning was perfect to start off the book. There is not much that I could say that wouldn't spoil the book but I really liked it and I am looking forward to finding out what happens next!
I have to say that for some reason, Eve is really getting on my nerves. As I remember, I thought I really liked her when I first started reading The Morganville Vampires.

It was listed at the library a horror book and at first I couldn't see why, but as I read on I can now see why. It is also a mix of humor and romance. If it was a movie it would probably be in the horror section.
Mortal Instruments is primarily based on demon hunters. The book has everything such as warlocks, vampires and werewolves.
The ending really upsets me and is EXTREMELY creepy (I can't say or I would ruin the book) and I REALLY hope what is revealed is not true but I can't see how it would not be.
This book is really long (not the quick read I am used to), but it compelled me to keep reading until the end and I am looking forward to reading the next one.
***If you are thinking about not reading the remaining books just because of the ending, don't give up! Each book gets better.

Just like all the other books in the series, Misguided Angel was a quick, easy and entertaining read! After reading the first chapter I was sucked in!
Lately I have been reading a lot of books with way too much description or a lot of rambling that is unimportant to the story. Not this book! It is less than 300 pages and with it jumping through different POV's Melissa kept me entertained.
I really liked the direction that Melissa de la Cruz took with this book. All my assumptions took a turn in a completely different direction in the end. Now there is a whole new journey for some and several new characters to play in future books.
I was a little disappointed that Bliss was not in this book, but I am sure Melissa has plans for her in the future.
For those of you who have not read any of the books in this series. The books are about angels that had turned their backs against God so they fell and were sent to earth as immortals. Only their body is not immortal, their spirit has to recycle in a new body through their blood and their memory only returns when they reach their teenage years. Another curse is, in order for them to survive they must drink human blood, the Fallen are Vampires.
Michael and Gabriel are the only pure angels that chose to follow the Fallen to earth. They have been on earth for more than 400 years and they are in a struggle with Lucifer and those who have followed him.

From the first book in this series, Evernight, I prepared myself to expect the unexpected, and I got that and more! Everything in this book was bewildering. The ending to Hourglass (book #3) was horrible and shocking, but at the same time, a marvelous cliffhanger. Bianca, Lucas and their families’ worst nightmares had come true. Bianca is now a wraith and Lucas is now a vampire; will the people they love accept them? Can they even accept what they’ve become? This remarkable book is all about how every character (and I truly mean EVERY character) learns to face their fears and how some, through extraordinarily difficult obstacles, learn to discover who should be trusted. And throughout all of this, Claudia Gray still delivers an enticing story. She had me in shock and in awe throughout the whole book! I love how Bianca starts out in the series as a young naive girl and ends up as a strong heroine. I was a little concerned because I thought the book was leading her character into becoming an annoyingly jealous girlfriend. Did she really question if Mrs. Bethany was hitting on Lucas? That was totally weird. But, once again, I was wrong. Expect the unexpected with Claudia Gray. I am really looking forward to reading Balthazar’s book. I sure love that guy; hopefully, the book will include more of Vic and Ranulf. They are some of my favorite characters. Ranulf cracks me up because he is this ancient vampire who talks like he’s from an era hundreds of years prior, but he still tries to include current day slang in his proper speech. Here is a paragraph in the book that had me LOL! “Vic brightened. “Yeah, and with the rest of the humans in town on the Friday trip, less chance of us getting found out, right? Oh, man, I just called people humans.”” I can see why Maxie has stuck around to watch over Vic. But one question wasn’t answered, are Maxie and Vic in love? Up until the end of the book, I only saw Maxie as someone who looks out and cares for Vic. Huh? (less)

What I really love about the Evernight series is they are they extremely intese throughout and Claudia Gray doesn’t take the happily ever after approach that you would expect. There was something mind-blowing that happens in the book that I saw coming but I was in denial (I was really hoping it was going to be prevented).
This book ends with the type of cliffhanger I am getting from a lot of books lately but it didn’t spoil the book for me.
I would have to say Evernight is definitely one of my favorite series.

I think I liked this one better than the first! Even though the twists were not as shocking as the first book, I couldn't take my hands off this one (unless I was biting my nails) until I was finished. I am going to have to buy these books when the next one comes out in a few weeks.
One thing I have to say is...I always find really good books by browsing through this site and reading reviews. One thing I always look for is the average rating and I am never disappointed!
