It wasn't exactly what I was expecting but it was still pretty awesome! Wren grew up watching her Mom, Aunt, and Grandma make things happen. Not things you would expect, changing the color of flowers, making pretty color lights dance around the room when she was upset. Then one day it all went away. Her father left, her Grandmother died, and her mom stopped talking to her Aunt, and tried to hid her powers. Then Wren developed powers too. Only her Mom still ignored them, everything Wren learned she learned on her own or in secret talks with her Aunt. Wren eventually meets Danny and falls in love, they were happy until Wren got a phone call that Danny was dead. Wren grieved until she decided to bring Danny back, because she couldn't live without him. The only problem is Danny came back different. Pale, cold, hard and just not the same. Wren still trys to make it work for them but eventually it just doesn't work anymore. This was a good story about love, boundaries, limits and letting go, and moving on. I really liked Wren, she knows she was wrong but trys so hard to fix things. Her mom I wasn't a fan of though. I secretly hope there is another book just to see if her mom ever gives her the answers she wants and needs. Danny made me sad. I wanted to like him but it is hard to like a shell of a person. All in all this was a good story. I wouldn't mind seeing more of Wren! I give this one 4 stars!(less)

Put in the position to use her power to save her nephew or keep it hidden and let him die, she saves him, and is out casted for her good deed. She is sent to a boarding school where she will be "fixed", "cured" of her magic. The more time she spends there the more unsure she becomes. She eventually comes across a secret group of kids/teachers that embrace there magic and want to use it to defend England from the threat of Napoleon. Well one meeting the meeting gets raided. Tori thought she was caught until she happened upon a mirror that took her into the future to world war 2 England. Long story short this was a great book! I loved the old day English setting, and world war 2 English setting . I loved the characters each one was unique and added something to this story. I also really enjoyed the magic. This was a really great historical paranormal read. If you haven't read it yet then go do it now! Then start the second book! I give this one 5 stars! (less)

This was a great story from start to finish. I loved the setting that was New 2. It seemed so beautiful yet creepy all at the same time. I think I also fell in love with Ari, self discovery isn't always easy especially when you discover that you miles from ordinary. I really felt that she mostly handled herself well and that she was a strong main character. I was a little put off by the insta connection between her and Sebastian, but through out the story it seemed to work itself out. I liked the group of "misfits" that she falls in with, especially Violet she was such a great character. My favorite thing here though had to be the way that mythology was worked into the story. I kind of had a feeling for where it was going, but wasn't really sure how we were going to get there until we had arrived. This was a quick read that left me wanting more. I'm really excited for more books in this series and I am giving this one 5 stars!(less)

I was a bit apprehensive about how this book was going to play out, but it was very enjoyable. Actually I think this book gave the secondary characters a chance to really come into there own. I also loved how Harry never hesitates even if it puts him in danger. If he thinks he can save someone he just jumps in head first. Harry being dead gives a new perspective on things and Harry. I really was engrossed in this story and thought I had it all figured out, and bam a twist sent me spinning into the wall. I was very pleased with the ending and am looking forward to the nenxt instalment. I give this one 5 stars and strongly suggest this series to all of you.
On a side note my very wonderful soon to be husband told me he wanted to watch The Dresden files tv show on Netflix, and now that we have finished it I think I have him sold on listing to the audio books! Yay!(less)

I need to know what happens next! This book focuses on Kylie, a normal girl who is just trying to deal with divorcing parents and the heartbreak of being dumped. After the cops raid a party where Kylie's only crime was being there her mother decides to send her to Camp Shadowfalls. Kylie goes thinking this is a camp for juvenile delinquents. Quickly Kylie learns that everything isn't what it seems. Kylie finds out why she is really at this camp but is sure that someone somewhere is wrong and she doesn't belong there. While trying to figure out the truth Kylie meets some new friends and we get reintroduced to Della. Watching Kylie try to figure everything out while coming to terms with all the new things happening around her. We also meet Derek and Lucas. *Swoon* This is one triangle I can't seem to settle on one side or the other,. Now I said this book left me wanting more...We learn just enough about Kylie to resolve this book, but not enough to fully satisfy! I loved the characters, the setting, and the story was told very well. I highly recommend this book to everyone. I give this one 4 stars!(less)

If you flip back through my reviews for the past few months you will see a lot of 4 - 5 star books. I am adding this one to the list too! This story was original and fresh. Yes magic/witches have been popular but this story was different from all the others. Silla, I want a friend like Silla, she has dealt with things that she shouldn't have had to, and through out this story more just gets piled on her. Yet she still managed to get up and do what needed to get done. Nick was pretty cool too although at times his attitude put me off. Reese...I want one! He stole my heart. He came through as an amazing brother and overall good guy. I have to say there were a few things that happened that left me sitting there in shock. I was on the edge of my seat for most of the book and I lost quite a bit of sleep because I just had to know what happened next. This was an amazing ride that I didn't want to end. I do have to applaud the author for her amazing use of blood that didn't have a vampire running around bathing in it. This was a very welcome change. I give this one 5 stars and a very high recommendation.(less)

I love everything about it. Aden by himself is pretty awesome, once you add in the souls he is just like the perfect character. Mary Anne, Victoria, and Riley are a great cast too! I feel that there has been a great deal of character growth for all the characters. They have all been through so much. I think that this book alone tested them each in many different ways, and I can't wait to see where they go from here. The over arching story for this series has been great thus far and I am dying for the next taste all ready! But the major story plots in this book really seemed to turn everyone upside down and inside out before everything was said and done. It was an amazing emotional trip that I am so glad I took. I look forward to more in this series and hope that you guys will give it a try if you haven't already. I give this one 4 stars!(less)
