I also enjoyed getting to meet new people Castor and Pollux was a story that I always felt close to since I am a Gemini. So getting to see a bit more of there story was great. It was also nice to see Kate missing Henry. I was worried that maybe the 6 months away would wear on there new and fragile relationship. It was also fun to see some of the other gods, Ella and Ava are two of my more favorite Greek goddesses and the way the gods all interact kinda makes me chuckle. I enjoyed this story and the quick peek into Kate's world. I look forward to starting goddess interrupted soon. I give this novella 5 stars....more

I'm not sure how Mrs Estep does it but I hope she keeps it up.
There wasn't much that happened here that I didn't enjoy. Daphne and Carson were still with us and they both had a few interesting things happen to them. Logan of course was still here and the tension between him and Gwen is perfect. Our professors are all still with us, and we even got o learn a little more about Nicomedeas, which I enjoyed very much. I love how these characters all have depth they aren't just filler on the page.
Our villains were also creepy and very well written. I had my guesses at who our bad guy was in this one a for once I turned out to be right, but getting to that part in the story was a bumpy ride that had me a little stressed out for Gwen. One thing I will say is hat these books pull no punches. Our bad guys are truly bad and nasty, and while they will dish it out, they also get it back sometimes in spades.
This story really lays it all out on the line for Gwen. The stakes can't get any higher, or the pressure much heavier. Everyone stands to lose something, and some stand to lose everything. This was an amazing addition to his wonderful series. I give this book 5 stars and am willing to go out and give this whole series 5 stars. Please, go read these books if you haven't already...more

I haven't done much with Norse mythology. A little look many years ago when I was in high school, and I watched Thor (that has to count...right?) But this was amazing, rich, full of myth and legend, and all wrapped up with great story telling. I loved the characters, Kat embraced her powers and responsibilities. She never tried to run from them or deny them, which I loved. Jack, at first I couldn't understand what his problem was but as the story went on I understood his reactions, and as he softened we saw what a great character he really is. I got to the end thinking I knew what was coming, but I was quite surprised. I'm glad it didn't go down the way I thought it would. I do hope we see more of Kat's role as a Stork in the next book, I found that part of the story to be awesome. I loved ever word of this story and can't wait to start the next book and get back into this awesome world. I give this one 5 stars and many glowing recommendations. ...more

In the beginning we meet Alex who is a half blood, she is running away from daimons and not quite getting away. Enter Aiden and company to the rescue. From there we are submerged into the lives, beliefs, and ways of the Pures and Half-Bloods. Alex is dangerously close to becoming a servant in the home of her Pure stepfather. all she wants is to finish her training and become a sentinel. The problem? Her mother took her and ran away which put Alex very far behind in her training. Aiden the very hott Pure volunteered to train her during the summer to try to get her caught up with the others her age. During all this Alex starts to feel things for Aiden, which is very bad news, Half-Bloods and Pures are not allowed to be together. As more problems are laid at her feet we watch Alex step up to the plate. she doesn't back down, she does things that I would never be able to do. She learns her destiny and even though she isn't happy with it, she stares it in the face.
Alex is a strong character who amazed me over and over throughout this book. The action was tense and exciting. The lore behind this world sucked me in. Aiden was another great character who usually left me in a puddle on the floor. I think I'm babbling hehe. Jennifer has made a huge fan out of me. Rich lore, great characters, plenty of action, snark, and some steamy bits! This one gets 5 stars from me!...more

I don't know where to start describing the awesome that is Wildfire. I guess I will try starting with the mythology aspect. This book wasn't solely focused on any one culture, there seemed to be a little bit of everything rolled up here. I enjoyed that very very much. While I do love story's that do focus on one culture or belief system it is nice to see something different and fresh. Something else I have yet to encounter is Polynesian mythology, but from the taste I got here I want more. Our characters were pretty great as well. They kind of seemed like a group jumble, like if not for there commonality they probably wouldn't have become friends. But they did and together they were fun and great. I'm not going to go into details about anyone but Ashline. She was a nifty main character. She came off as strong yet still incredibly vulnerable. I'm not sure I can't discuss the plot without raving and giving stuff away so we will leave it at this. this was an amazing story that I didn't want to end. I need more, right now! The ending had me sitting here saying "there better be a book number two". I can't wait for the next book I want to hear more about these characters and dive deeper into this story. I give this one 5 stars and raving recommendations!...more

On one hand I LOVED this book, but I find it hard to really talk about without giving too much away, so here is my attempt... Gretchen, she is smart and well trained when it comes to mythological monsters. She is fierce, and determined and maybe a little tired. Grace, having just moved to San Francisco she sees this an an opportunity to be a new person. She never expected to see a Minotaur walk into a restaurant! Maybe shy boring Grace wasn't so bad after all. Greer, comes from a well off family, where her toughest choice is should there be be an ice sculpture for decoration at tea time. The last thing any of these girls expected was to run into another girl wearing the same face. As we move through the story the girls all have to fall apart and come to there own decisions before they can come together and try to fulfill their destiny. The world, monsters and alternate realities where these monsters are trying to escape from. Things the girls don't understand. They are in for the fight of their lives trying to save themselves and the world. I give this one 5 stars! It was fresh and original, with a great story and great characters!...more

It has always been something I enjoyed, so the high number of books coming out lately involving mythology makes me giddy. This one seemed to mix quite a few different cultures but it all worked out in the end. Gwen is a gypsies with the power to touch an object and see things about others that have touched it. She admits that she loves being able to find out peoples secrets, that is until one girls secrets turns Gwen's life upside down. Before she knows it she is attending mythos academy for "warrior wiz kids". There are amazons, Vikings, Spartans, Valkyries, and other mythological warriors. She sits through her myth-history class in disbelief in the stories she is hearing, that is until a girl ends up dead and Gwen is using her gift to be the supernatural Nancy Drew. This is a great story about coming to terms with ones self and opening up to new possibilities about yourself. Gwen was a great character she stars out not believing in the myths she is learning about, and ends this story with a new understanding of the world around her. This was a story that sucked me in and I am counting down the days until the next book is released. If you are a mythology fan then go get this book! This one gets 5 stars from me! ...more
