Once I started this book I had so much trouble putting it down, I was quickly emerged into a time of Lords and Lady's. At one time I would have been put off by the thought of a historical fiction read but now I crave them. There are few things better than Knights, and court intrigue.
This book did not fail to give me any of that, there was betrayal at every turn. I went through this story questioning everyone. Who could be trusted when it seemed everyone had there own motives and plans. As the story went on and we fall deeper into the court and the political games I was amazed at how well woven the story was.
Our characters didn't disappoint me either Ismae was wonderful, and I think I loved her from the start. Watching her start out the way she did, and grow at the convent, to end up the woman we end with was a great journey. She never stopped questioning things even when maybe she shouldn't. She also learned how to walk her own path and be happy with herself. The fact that she is a kick butt assassin makes her kinda awesome too!
The rest of the characters weather they were main or secondary all had a breath of life in them. I was truly enchanted by all of them, and their story. I can't wait to see what the future hold for them, and where the next leg of this journey will take us. I give this one 5 stars and beg any of you who haven't yet read this to go give it a try, I am sure that it won't disappoint!...more

I read this book because I had to see how this was going to work. I loved Tess, who never gave up and who tried to the end to help people that didn't care if she lived or died. She also spent a lot of time try8ing to talk herself out of caring for a many solely based on station. While I understand why, it upset me to no end. Just about ever aspect of Tess's servant life upset me. I loved that this was set on the Titanic, it is something everyone knows and was rather well done. The only thing that I was disappointed about was that I didn't feel enough time was dedicated to the sinking of the ship. But all in all I really enjoyed it. Great characters, story, and setting. There was drama, danger, love, and excitement, just enough of everything to make it great. I hope all of you give it a try. I give this one 4 stars!...more

It was everything I hoped it would be and more, but at the same time I am so sad that this series is over! I wasn't a huge fan of book 1 but I do plan on re reading them, and I'm pretty sure that will change. But I am a huge fan of this series as a whole, I loved laurel, Tamani, Chelsea and David. The extended cast of characters even have a piece of my heart.
I'm not sure how to go about discussing this book without spoiling anything but I'm going to try very hard to cover some of my favorite things. This book started on a bang and never stopped, once the action started it never stopped. Right up to the end there was anger in the air. One of the things that I loved whole heartedly is the loyalty between laurel and her friends. No matter what they always had each others backs.
Another thing I loved was seeing Avalon again. I loved all of laurels time spent there, even in this book. The fae and Avalon always came to life for me in this series, I don't know he Mrs pike did it but it seemed to just dance off the page for me. I as much as I will miss having a new story featuring this world I am glad that I can always go back for a visit.
Again this whole book was bittersweet for me, but I still loved the ending, I felt closure, and happy with the resolution. I felt that everyone who needed to be touched upon. I finished this book with a smile on my lips and a tear in my eye. Thank you Mrs pike for sharing this world, it's characters, and their story's with us. I give this book 5 stars, and I strongly urge everyone to give this series a try! ...more
