Her books are funny and sweet. CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MARRIAGE is both of these things. Stephen is a fun character. Having left the navy he just wants to have fun and flirt with ladies. Everything is going according to his plan until his neighbor, Jilly Jones, shows up and tells him to stop. Instead of being offended by her meddling, he is intrigued by the bookstore owner. I loved their relationship from the very beginning. They were flirtatious and fun from the very first page, even when Jilly is trying to be staid and respectable. Jilly is more complicated than she seems and I loved how little bits of her truth are revealed one at a time. I wanted this couple to work out, but they did have some speed-bumps on their way to happily ever after. I felt that the trials they faced were just the right level of angst for this light of a book. I just liked everything about CLOUDY WITH A CHANCE OF MARRIAGE and can't wait for the last impossible bachelor book featuring Lumley!

Her attitude bothered me and I couldn’t see why people let her get away with things the way they do. I did like Hope more by the end of the book, but it took me awhile. On the other hand, I absolutely loved Colt. Just like GOING COWBOY CRAZY the dialog is snappy and full of funny moments. The town plays just as an important part in MAKE MINE A COWBOY. I really enjoyed getting to know the “other” twin. I’m hoping that we get more stories set in this crazy town!

I love the characters and the whole premise of the story. Faith Aldridge, having recently learned that she has a twin sister, travels to a small town in Texas to meet her. She shows up and the whole town mistakes her for her sister, who lives in Hollywood. I loved how everyone in Bramble treats her from the beginning. One person tells her her short hair (which is very different from her sister’s extra long locks) is “kinda cute in a short, ugly kinda way.” Others question her attitude, but no one will believe that she isn’t Hope - except for Slate. From the moment their lips touch he was sure that she wasn’t Hope. I loved that although they looked the same he could tell the difference. Their courtship is one hilarious episode after another. I was enchanted by the community Ms. Lane built to surround Slate and Faith. From their matchmaking attempts to planning the wedding without Slate or Faith knowing, the community is an important part of this story. This is a great contemporary romance with memorable characters and a fantastic couple. This is an author I will be looking forward to reading more from.(less)

It is a fun look at a very different southern town. Addy is so much fun. She is a little hard to take seriously, because she doesn't take much seriously. I love how she curses Meredith, who is truly a witch, with pimples and butt boils. Brand is one sexy hero and very funny too. I love his literal take on everything Addy says. These two shouldn't fit each other, but they do work. I didn't really care so much about the "big bad" who was after Addy, I was really just wrapped up in the romance between Addy and Brand. I also didn't like the way the relationship between Ansgar (another demon hunter) and Evie (Addy's best friend) ended. It felt like it was a set up for book 2, but I wanted Evie to be as happy as Addy. I will definitely be reading more by this author!
