Their established past added an extra element as they got to know each other again. Their chemistry was fantastic, and I enjoyed the slow burn of their relationship. It was fun to watch them remember the reasons they'd fallen in love before and seeing those feelings come back to the surface.
I really want to learn more about Del's family. Del's relationship with his brothers was intriguing. I didn't understand his father at all, and I'm not sure how I feel about Elaine either. I loved her relationship with Maya, but her relationship with her own family left me frustrated, so I'm hoping that this will be explored more later on in the series.
After seeing Maya's relationship with Zane in Kiss Me, I was so happy not only to see how their relationship has progressed in a positive way, but to see a nice follow up to Zane and Phoebe's story. I always love seeing those characters from other books and finding out where they're at in life now, but I also really enjoy hearing about new people on town and figuring out how they might end up pairing up later in the series.
And, as always, Eddie and Gladys added to the fun factor. I hope to be half as fun as they are when I'm their age. ...more

I picked it up, thinking I'd do a little reading before bed, and wound up staying up past my bedtime to read. When I couldn't keep my eyes open any longer, I put it down, but the next evening as soon as I got home from work, I had it in my hands.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Phoebe is quirky, but kind, and just an easy character to like. Zane was a little harder to read, but I liked him as well. He and Phoebe were so different, but there differences really played well of each other. Phoebe's conversations with the animals always made me chuckle, and Zane's uncanny ability to always catch her at it was cute.
Zane and Chase's relationship was another of my favorites. Chase really messed up, but it was so easy to forgive him because he was so likable. It was frustrating because I understood where Zane was coming from with wanting to teach him a lesson, but, like so many of the characters, I felt like he needed tocut the kid a bit of a break. It was really satisfying when the two of them figured things out.
I also enjoyed C.J, Thad, Lucy and Tommy's story, too. C.J. was frustrating because she was just so understandably bitter, but her relationship with Thad was so strong even through the strain. It was heartwarming to see her warm up to the kids because it was so obvious they needed each other.
The setting for this book was a bit different from other Fool's Gold books. It was odd not seeing so much of the town in this one, but the cattle drive was a fun setting for the story. I missed seeing more of the other characters, but I think Gladys and Eddie's presence more than made up for it. They are always so ornery but so much fun. It was also really enjoyable to learn more about them as well.
Overall, I just thorough enjoyed Kiss Me. I have a feeling this is going to be one I'll be reading over and over again!...more
