This book is Dageus and Chloe's story in the Highlander series. Dageus is a sexy Druid who was cursed with 13 evil souls for using the standing stones for personal gain to save his brother's life. He is struggling against the evil inside of him and trying to find a way to banish them when he meets Chloe. Chloe is a lover of antiquities who finds Dageus fascinating and decides to help him in his quest. Dageus tempts Chloe to be a bit of a bad girl while Chloe helps him battle the evil inside of him. Dageus has a wonderful wild heart and loves with everything in him. Once he finds his Chloe-lass, he does everything he can to seduce her and keep her safe. I love this entire book!
This is an amazing love story full of sexual tension, great dialogue, passion and humor. ...more

I love how Gwen was looking for a cherry picker to rid her of her virginity then when she saw Drustan she thought he looked more like a cherry tree chopper downer than a cherry picker.
The storyline was very good, I love the part toward the end when Drustan remembers then they have a very passionate encounter in the buttery. Gwen was a great heroine, she was intelligent, honorable and smart enough to figure out how to trap Drustan in his own guarderobe. This story was a great set up for the next book, Dark Highlander. Highly recommeded!...more

He is also immortal thanks to Adam Black slipping the magic Fae liquid that makes humans immortal into his drink when he was in his 30's. Circenn is quite the broody Brud (sorry couldn't resist). He placed a curse on a flask that causes the flask to come back to him. He doesn't realize that his curse will also bring back whoever touches the flask....Enter Lisa, who is working her night time shift in a museum as a cleaner. Her curiosity drives her to touch the flask and the next thing she knows she is in a bath with a naked Circenn in the 14th century. Lisa desparately wants to return home to her century because her mother is dying of cancer. Circenn cannot return her because he never learned how to properly use his Fae gifts. Circenn and Lisa fall in love but then Lisa finds out the truth about him ... namely that he is not a simple medieval Brude Scot at all. Great ending to the book, it would be nice to be able to sift around in time and fix things. I loved Circenn as soon as he accepted the magic in his veins.
Circenn wishing good night to Lisa: "Sleep with the angels tonight Lisa. Then come back and sleep with your devil who would burn in hell for one night in your arms." I think that is all that needs to be said about Circenn in that sentence. Bonus to the story: We learn a lot more about Adam Black and get to see him in a more sympathetic light. If you haven't read the Highlander series, I VERY highly recommend you give it a shot. Start with this book, it's great!...more

Lucky Douchet lives in the Louisiana swamp he loves as he tries to recover mentally from his time as a captive in a South American jungle. He was captured while on a military mission and spent a year in captivity. He spends his time painting beautiful pictures of his swamp and chasing off poachers. When he was younger, he wanted to be an ecologist but he quit college to join the military after a bad relationship with Serena's twin sister Shelby.
Serena Sheridan is a psychologist in Charleston. She grew up in Louisiana on a plantation but she got away from home as soon as she could. She is terrified of the swamp because she was stuck in it one time when a big storm came up and was lost by herself for three days before she was found. Her twin sister is the one who got her stuck in the swamp because she is spoiled and selfish.
Serena meets Lucky when she needs a ride to her grandfather's place out in the swamp. Lucky dislikes her on sight because she looks just like Shelby, who hurt him pretty badly when they were in college. Serena's grandfather is hiding in his hunting cabin because Shelby is trying to get him to sell his land. Her grandfather makes her go home with Lucky and from then on the sparks fly.
The sexual tension and passion between Lucky and Serena is very hot. I love the setting, you can almost feel the heat of the bayou and see the cyprus trees. Lucky is one of the hottest male leads I have ever read about. On the outside he comes off as bad boy Cajun with a smart mouth but he is also nice enough to help his neighbors by running off poachers, feeds baby racoons and paints beautiful pictures. I highly recommend giving this story a shot if you like hot contemporary stories!...more

There is also a second storyline set in the 1400's that shows how the treasure was lost in the first place and features another romance. Both stories flowed well together and had cute romances.
