This is a tale of a Nate Daniels, a boy who was sent to the countryside for the summer because of his immature antics and ended up being a hero to say the least. Nate Daniels displays courage, determination and honor in this novel as he aids and assists a "terrorist" much like hos great great great great grandfather who was the Last Station Master for the Underground Railroad. This story will enrich the hearts and minds of African Americans around the world with the facts and history of our heritage. I enjoyed the twists, turns, and characters of this book and it will leave you with memories and knowledge to share with all people very intellectual and fun read.

I enjoyed reading it from beginning to end. If I could change one thing about this book it would be the title. I felt it didn’t give the book any justice. When they say don’t judge a book by its cover this would be the example. If I was looking in the store for this book I would have pasted it by unless I picked it up and read the back cover. Please don’t sleep on this one it was really good. I love the way she portrayed women sticking together. How they accomplished so much together. The ending did surprise me. I didn’t think she would turn them at the end.

There are so many Stephens in the world today, and they continuously grow and worm their way into the lives of innocent people’s lives; also, there are so many women who have children and tend to believe that no righteous man would ever cross their paths, but, there are many individuals that are decent, but there are also plenty of snakes out there as well. The mother possessed so many personal hang-ups to where she was not focused on her children or who she allowed to be around them. No one is more import to me than my children, and women and men need to listen more cautiously than they look at people, for body language can tell an awful lot about what people might be up to, besides, it is so obvious that this woman lacked any type of real “motherly instinct,” and to see how the influence of a man could blind her to the point of oblivion is such a sad event. Thank you Ms. Forrest for this incredible piece of literature that I hope many women of all ages that have children or are around children often obtain some knowledge that will help them understand how important it is to be cautious of who you allow your young ones to be around. Lastly, for all who are responsible for children, listen to them, learn who they are and help them earn the trust they need to confide in you, and never take someone else’s word over your child’s until you investigate the issues thoroughly, and even then, you must make provisions to help your children understand right from wrong if they are actually telling an untruth, for there is always a reaction to every action of humans, and the results are not always good. But, if it is discovered that an individual is actually causing harm or planning to harm your children, evict them from your life immediately, for the precious gift of life that God bestows down upon us by giving us children is more sacred and meaningful than any type of relationship with someone, especially one who can create havoc to yours and your children’s well-being.

Many individuals, both men and women, struggle with two worlds whenever they arrive at a point in their lives where they decide to make major changes in the way they live their lives, and in choosing a life that pleases God, some people fight with themselves more than ever, for it appears that the closer you get to God, the more temptation steps in the way to alter your thinking, and in many events, people can become overwhelmed and weak enough to do things that are totally not in the Christian way. There are also times when certain individuals enter your life and cause you to do the unthinkable, but God is a mighty God, and once we realize that we are unable to fix ourselves after several attempts, we throw in the towel and allow God to take control of the driver’s seat, and we can begin to see things much clearer. I was very pleased to see that Reverend Clint was saved and can now continue moving forward and do the job he has been given to do.

Bouncing from foster home to foster home and following an unfortunate incident, Porsche lands in juvenile prison where she learns the rules of survival the hard way. After linking up with a fellow detainee named Riot and becoming a member of her gang, the Diamond Needles, Porsche winds up on an Indian reservation with Riot and they are taught important lessons that will last a lifetime.
Porsche's initial goals are simple—return to her Long Island mansion and reclaim the lavish lifestyle her family once lived. However, with all of her newfound insight she is still not fully prepared for the fight ahead of her when she is hit with the harsh reality of her mother's new existence; the fate of her sisters, Winter, Lexus and Mercedes; and the realization that life as she knew it will never be the same.
"A Deeper Love Inside" starts off slow, but once it takes off, it soars. I was all-engrossed in what would become of a little girl lost in the system without a real family unit. As is her signature, Sister Souljah showcases strong-willed and determined females against the backdrop of intelligent, nurturing and successful male figures.
Souljah has a way with words as she weaves this emotional story of struggle, growth and true love. From the ending of "The Coldest Winter Ever", I, as I’m sure most of you, had drawn my own conclusions about who I thought Porsche Santiaga really was. Make no mistake, people aren't always who they appear to be and by getting to know Porsche like I do now, you too will find a deeper love inside

The difference was that one of these Sister-Gurls is a preacher's kid and we have the spirituality twist to this.
"Ghettrocities Personified Aliyah" was all heart. She meant what she said, and she said what she meant unless it concerned her babies. She met Elder Barron Jason Jones and wanted the American Dream. She got more than she bargained for! She prayed and did the best she could with the hand God served her with.
Dr. Jewel Prunell. We all want a Dr. Prunell in our lives - no nonsense take no prisoners, down to earth woman, in our lives. Sister-Gurl didn't mind calling on the lord for any and all situations. " Lord, I need your help and guidance" My girl Dr. Jewel broke generational curses. Breaking cycles one issue at a time.
Noey, who in the 20th century names a child Noey? Noey's parent's did ! They were hoping for a boy to name Noel or Joel. When Noey popped up they gave her the combination of the two. - Noey, a BIAP (Black Italian American Princess). Noey is a home-maker. A West Indian dad and petite Italian Mother. Their marriage worked out when no one expected a widowed man to fall in love with his choir director. (Go figure)! Noey is the only biological child of her parents.
Danne, always late rather than on time or never. Danne is always there when you need her. Danne is the sister girl that gives everyone the benefit of the doubt even when they are dead wrong. Danne flew to Mississippi with Dr. Prunell to deal with what is under the Crystal Stairs! One Step at a Time! Danne is the sister girl you want with you to make sure folks don't act snippy! Danne got your back! And, she is a gospel superstar. She reminds me of Tina Campbell of Mary Mary.
These four sisters encounter life on life's terms and get through life together. This was an easy read that had every page twisting and turning. I stayed on the edge of my seat to see what the outcome would be. I was surprised and delighted at the same time. The story development was excellent. The plot was realistic and awkward yet, comforting and lively.
Could not put it down. Five Stars (5) - can't wait for sequel or continuation of story line and hope to see it on a big screen.
This story was so realistic it could have been taken off of any American show on television straight out of a storyline from Hollywood. We all have a set of "Crystal Stairs!" Some of us are just to scared to delve into the issue and deal with the situation (s).! "This is the day, this is the day that the lord made I will rejoice and be glad in it."

CrimCrimson Green and her best friend, Chantal, go to Club Panacea for a night out on the town to celebrate Crimson’s big break in the fashion world. Crimson never thought she’d meet the man of her dreams, Isaac Fuentes, that night, nor did she think she’d be lucky enough to find a penny along with other spare change and baubles left abandoned on the ground in the alley next to the club. What she least expected was for her luck to change in a matter of minutes when a visit to Isaac’s place lands her smack dab in the middle of an investigation for the disappearance of Isaac’s ex-girlfriend, local heiress Penny Preston.
Now that she and Isaac have professed their love for one another and are now making headlines for all the wrong reasons, Crimson is determined to find out what really happened to Penny herself. With everyone trying to keep her away from Isaac, including the lead detective on the case, Detective Richardson, who is just as attracted to Crimson as she is to him, Crimson still can’t find the strength to walk away. Instead, she jeopardizes her fashion endorsement, freedom and future all in the name of love and enlists Chantal’s help on her mission to clear Isaac’s name.
Find A Penny is a definite page-turner, with enough humor and action within its pages to keep you intrigued. Cotton Carpenter spins a riveting tale of love, chance and mystery with her debut novel. The characters are likeable and believable, the plot is captivating and the story flows effortlessly, keeping you engaged till the very end. Cotton offers a refreshing brand of storytelling that is comedy-filled and unexpectedly entertaining.

Willis McDaniel is the top man when it comes to the drug game in detroit, Michigan. He is well respected and also very feared by those that run in the circles of the drug game, whether they are addicts or hustlers. Then there are the haters. New comer Lennie Jack thinks he can take Willis McDaniels and replace him as the drug kingpin in town when the opportunity presents itself. funny how things go as a junkie provides Lennie with some information on a shipment Willis has coming in, Jack steps in and makes off with the dope which sends Willis into a rage. this type of nonsense will not be tolerated no matter how many heads have to roll. the police and the citizens of Detroit have their hands full as Willis will stop at nothing to find out who started a war with him. this book is action packed from beginning to end. the reader will enjoy the side stories that are intertwined with the main one. i didn't find any typo's in this book nor were there any words used out of context. the author has written this so that the reader will find themselves anticipating what happens next.I definitely recommend this book.

It’s an educational and literary keepsake. The author’s research into the lives of slaves who stood against their oppressors not only speaks to the heart of the false notion that many slaves were submissive, it also provides a background on many unknown African American’s who rose to prominence and wealth in the shadows of a shameful era.

Fidel Love prolifically pens the words from his heart to paper the way Jay Z makes money for his rhymes. His emotions, his words, his feelings are all there as a sound-track to his life. His pain, his joys are words of today's generation and hip-hop.
If more young men got in touch with their feelings through spiting and rhyming and put it paper to pen. We could end some of the violence. I applaud Mr. Love's courage. This young man is awesome and I'd love to hear him on the nearest jazz cafe on the mic.

Marcus sets up a job as a Direct Marketer, passing out flyers as he sets up an amazing team. Utilizing all the tools he learned while in prison rehabilitation is short of a miracle. However, you live by that sword and etc. With so many of our children caught up in the "Prison Mentality" this book is real talk... Marcus garners attention as his leadership skills precedes him as he brilliantly and meticulously plans and executes his plans. I gave this book a (five) (5) because it is told with such brutal honesty. "A.D. Wright whisks the reader into the mind of an intelligent outlaw experiencing the nuances of an unyielding and unjust city." Marcus will leave you debating society's ideas of right and wrong similar to Robin in the Hood...

In part 2 I WA reunited with Tina and Darren at a more mature part of their lives and relationship. There was something sexy and powerful about the female being the most sexual in the relationship. I loved how driven Darren was however he shocked me with his decisions! Jeanty certainly has a active imagination and superb writing skills. I took to Tina's family, their bond and love is completely to die for. From the acknowledgments to the snippets I was not disappointed!

I received this book yesterday afternoon and finished it the next day, needless to say it was definitely a page turner! It was so well written you can tell the author really took her time in writing this story. This book was filled with drama, lies, and so much betrayal.
Karyn who is the main character is very beautiful and has no problem with getting the attention from men, but she usually doesn’t pay them any mind, that is until she meets Thomas, who after getting to know is the man of her dreams. There are so many women in the word who are Karyn or at least who can relate to Karyn…wanting a man so bad that they are willing to do anything to get that man and keep him. Karyn once was such a strong independent woman who had so much going on for herself, but as you read further and further into the story you find Karyn loosing herself more and more. I found myself talking to this book getting so upset at Karyn for what she was allowing to go on in her life. Through all of the things she had going on in her life she always had her friends right at her side telling her the honest truth.
Is Thomas all he is cracked up to be or is he really too good to be true? Trust me once you read this you will see what Thomas is really about and that’s really nothing. I found myself talking to his character also because he was just out of control and seemed not to care about anything, the way he was behaving I wondered if he cared about himself. I don’t want to say too much about Thomas because I want you to read it to see what I am talking about.
Author Chantilly does a great job at bringing the characters to life and letting the readers really get to know who each character was. The book really makes you think, just because someone shows you who they are as a person only time will tell if that person is really showing their true colors. If you are looking for a really good book to read then this is it. This author is definitely an author to look out for and I cant wait to see what else she has in store for the readers! Wondering if this book will have a part 2, it ended well but would like to know what happened next.
