You're so vain... I bet you think this book is about you, don't you? Don't you?
NUH-UH! WRONG! This isn't about you...
This is about her royalty, SOPHIE PRICE. [image error]
Who the hell is Sophie Price?! Okay, let me tell you.
She is... *SUPER RICH. GORGEOUS. FLAWLESS! --> Every guy wants her. Every girl wants to be her.
Aside from that, she is also: *QUEEN BEE. *MANIPULATIVE LITTLE BITCH. *SPOILED, REPULSIVE BRAT *VICIOUS. *VAIN VAIN VAIN!!! What Sophie wants, Sophie gets. She has people tending her needs, her wardrobe, hair, makeup, nails, EVERYTHING!
I’m one of the beautiful people. That truly sounds so odd to have to explain, but it’s the truth nonetheless. I’m beautiful, and it’s not because I have a healthy dose of self esteem, though I have plenty of that. It’s obvious in the way I look in the mirror, yes, but even more obvious in the way everyone treats me. I rule this roost because I’m the most wanted by all the guys, and all the girls want to be my friend because of it.
I was the queen of subtlety. I could play a boy like a concert violinist. I was a master of my craft.
“My lingerie probably costs more than your entire wardrobe,” I spit out at the short, stocky one who eyed me with disdain.
EVIL, isn't she??? I swear this girl is full of herself. UGH
She is always out partying, teasing/making out with different guys (even the ones who have girlfriends), and doing drugs.
“Keep appearances, Sophie Price, and I’ll reward you handsomely,” my father said to me starting at fifteen.
...Every want I fulfilled and every desire was quenched. I wanted for nothing. Except attention.
There's actually a good person hidden inside that hideous persona.
She just doesn't realize it yet...
But, everything's gonna change and all of her evil doings will come to an end.
Her misdemeanor has taken its toll on her when she was sentenced six months in an orphanage at Masego, Uganda.
That's when the REAL story begins...
From there on, she met different types of people. Lead an unfamiliar life. Entirely DIFFERENT from where she came from.
Actually, it all started when she first laid eyes on the guy who will be one of the reason for the CHANGE in her...
( NEW BOOK BOYFRIEND ALERT!!! He's actually called Dingane [read as Din-John-E], but I don't like it so I'm gonna stick with Ian. LOL.)
Ian is... *DROP DEAD GORGEOUS (and oh, he's white). --Not really what Sophie imagined since he's from Africa. *SELFLESS. He cares for the kids more than himself. Hell, he cares for everyone and will fight for them. But, most especially, unlike any other guys she'd known, *IAN DESPISES HER!
“Yes, I was thinking that you were a spoiled brat who won’t last two seconds here.”
“Girl, you are the epitome of spoiled. I can smell it in your expensive perfume, in the quality of your ridiculous clothing, in the bracelet wrapped ’round that delicate wrist.” He closed the gap between us and all the air sucked from the room. “You won’t last out here. You’ll stay blind to the environment that surrounds you. You’ll live in your clean, perfect bubble and return to your posh life come six months. You are....you. I know your kind. I’ve seen it all before. You will never wake up. Not really.”
UH OH! THAT'S HARSH. It's like a slap to Sophie's face.
Because if there's one thing she fears, it's being rejected...
I was my own worst enemy. That was my secret weakness. Rejection. Rejection of any kind, in fact. I hated it more than anything.
That's short lived though. Soon, he will find out that they have more things in common than they've known. Most especially, he will see the REAL Sophie... All new and improved version of her.
What happens next???
I guess you should find out for yourselves :) So, you know what to do...
OH.MY.WORD! MY GOODNESS! THIS BOOK MAKES IT TO MY LIST OF THE BEST BOOKS OF 2012!!!
I'm speechless. But, I have a question for y'all:
WHY THE HELL ARE YOU NOT READING THIS ONE YET?!
Seriously? IT'S THE BEST!!!
Okay, first of all, that cover is misleading. THIS IS NOT A PARANORMAL ROMANCE BOOK. At first, when I saw the cover, I thought it was, but then I read the blurb, so from there, I knew I just have to read this one! No, not because it's not a PNR book (because I also love PNR), but because I can sense it's gonna be an awesome read. And I wasn't disappointed! It exceeded my expectations. From the first page, I was hooked, line and sinker!
Vanity’s a debilitating affliction. You’re so absorbed in yourself it’s impossible to love anyone other than oneself, leaving you weak without realization of it. It’s quite sad. You’ve no idea what you’re missing either. You will never know real love and your life will pass you by. But you will see. One day you will blink and the haze will dissipate. You’ll discover that what once defined you has wilted into graying hair and wrinkled skin. Frantic, you’ll glance around yourself, in hopes of finding those you swore adored you, but all you will find is empty picture frames.
I just gave you the prologue. See? Who wouldn't get hooked, right?
This is actually the first book from Fisher Amelie I've read and I wasn't disappointed at all. I will read all her novels and everything that she'll write. To the author:
This book gave me everything. Relatable heroine (not in the sense of her bitchiness, but because she is strong, confident, and somehow, vulnerable. She is definitely genuine. She made it to the list of my favorite heroines). Swoon-worthy hero. A couple everyone will ship. Quotable quotes. Romance. Thriller. Action. And, scenes you can't help but bawl your eyes out. I just can't get over it. The author also mentioned LRA and Joseph Kony (I'm sure most of you guys know him and aware of what he has done. If not, google him or search him on YouTube. There's a documentary about him there that earned a million views). This book taught me the value of life. How to be selfless and appreciate what we have and be happy with it.
I love the prologue and the epilogue. I fell in love with Ian and Sophie's relationship. How they started off and what they had in the end was absolutely beautiful! I ship them so hard!!! They're so cute together and they compliment each other. I love all their conversations. My hands are itching to type/put/quote their convos and romantic scenes here, but I have to be considerate for the future readers. They sure do have chemistry, it's off the charts! AHHHH! *Swooning and fangirling* I love all the secondary characters as well and how they helped Sophie discover who she really is. They are perfect in their own ways. Okay, I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS BOOK. Two thumbs up!!!
One of my favorite convos between the MCs --> (view spoiler)[ “Classes are cancelled for two days after the kids recover. I’m making an executive decision and I’m going to sleep for both of them.” “As long as I get to sleep with you.” My eyes bugged from my head. “Pardon?” I asked in disbelief. Ian stared at me, eyes wide. “I-I just meant...I meant that, uh, that I also wanted to sleep with you.” I laughed out loud. “I mean, not with you but sleep in my own bed during the time in which you also sleep...in your bed. We’d be asleep in two separate beds. You in yours and me in mine.” One of his hands left the steering wheel and ran the length of his face. “God, I’m deprived.” A quick glance my way. “Of sleep! Deprived of sleep!” His hand slapped the wheel. “God, shut up, Din.” I smiled at him softly. “I got you, Ian.” Boy, do I ever. (hide spoiler)]
Overall, THIS WAS A GREAT GREAT READ!!! YOU ALL SHOULD READ IT!!!
“The shortest distance between two points is the line from me to you.”

Warning: Spoilers ahead. Read at your own risk.
Hi! I'm back! This review will start off with my complaints.
Two words: Cover Fail Am I the only one who has a problem with the cover? I think it's misleading. I don't really get it or it's connection with the story. I thought this is a paranormal romance book. LOL. And then, when I read the first line of the blurb and it says: Sparrow Kate is transforming, I said to myself, Yep, this is PNR. I thought this book's about zombies or vampires, but when I read some of my friends' reviews, this was actually a romance novel. Stupid me for not reading the entire blurb. Lesson learned.
SHOOT! HOLY CRACK! THIS BOOK IS EFFIN' GOOD!!!
I love the author's writing style, like she has a way of getting the readers hooked at the first chapter line of the book...I know I did. The story actually began in present time, a year, two months, and seventeen days since she last saw him. Two years, ten months, and five days since he broke her heart--when they bump into each other in the airport. And then, the next chapter jumps back in the past and tells us how it all started and what went wrong. I love it! Plus, the titles in each chapter are just brilliant.
Sparrow - what a lovely and unique name. (The author got her surname from author Tarryn Fisher, right? Cool.) Another heroine who should be congratulated for having a famous vagina. Yeah, she's popular with the guys. They all seem smitten with her. But, I love her because she's smart and funny. And when she's with Ian, ahhh, perfect :)
Ian Orville Sterling, yes, I know he's an asshole, and when he did that horrible thing to Sparrow and fvck up their relationship, I was like, Ian, [image error] and when they (view spoiler)[ broke up and their love life were in shambles (hide spoiler)], my heart broke for them. [image error]
But you know what? I still love him. Why? All his lines are like asdfkglskfdhsl, took my breath away. *sigh* How can you not fall in love? Most of my fave quotes from the book are said by Ian. And my favorite part? (view spoiler)[ The endless letters. For me, they're the highlight of the book. (hide spoiler)] OMFG. My heart hurts a lot just reading it.
Sparrow and Ian -- DANGGGG! These two are made for each other. Off the charts chemistry. I love it when Ian calls Sparrow "Little Bird." And their lines and banters are perfection. *sigh* [image error]
I say, “What do you like about me besides my looks?” “The fact that you would ask me something like that is a clear indication of the kind of person you are, Sparrow Fisher. You have this grounding quality about you. I don’t know a better way to put it. It levels me. I’ve never been at home anywhere, but I am with you.”
“You’re an angel.” “You’re trouble,” I laugh. “I can’t keep my hands off you,” he says. “I don’t want you to.”
“I want to be who you think I am.” “I want you to be who you are.”
I wish the epilogue could've been longer though. Or idk, I think it's just an excuse because I want more.
Also, I don't like the name Ianow Orvillate .
My favorite Ian letter: (view spoiler)[ We Belong Together. Well, Baby—Think. Words Beginning Thus Would Be Tender Words—But True. Wonderful, Beautiful, Thoughtful Words, But They Would Be Truthful Words.Believe Them. Wishes Become True. Wisdom Brings Trust. We’re Being Tested. We’re Both Tough. Who Buys That? Waiting By Telephone. Wake Before Twelve. Work Before Television. Wiggle Big Toe. Well … Be Thinking Warm-Blooded Teddy World’s Biggest Turkey Way Back Then Warm Bellies Touched We Began Trembling Weeping Boy Thinks, “Where’s Baby’s Touch?” What Big Tears. We Belong Together. (hide spoiler)]
Overall , IAN AND SPARROW DO BELONG TOGETHER. And I'm happy of their HEA and I love reading their story so much. This will go straight to my favorites ;)
At the end of the road for Sparrow and Ian though---
"Love is enough. Love does conquer all. Love really does always protect, trust, hope, persevere... I'd even go as far as saying that love never fails. I finally believe that."
My advice for y'all? STOP WHAT YOU'RE DOING AND READ THIS BOOK!

First of all, since I haven't been able to put casting photos in my review of This Man, I'm gonna do it here,...more
I'm on a Central Jesse Cloud Nine!!!
First of all, since I haven't been able to put casting photos in my review of This Man, I'm gonna do it here, so:
Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for the one and only, The Lord of The Sex Manor--
JESSE FVCKIN' WARD!!! :
I didn't think Jesse Ward can be more crazy but in Beneath This Man, the guy introduced us to a whole new level of CUHRAZY. It's bordering DELUSIONAL.
I didn't know how I managed to finish this one when the entire time I was reading, I was like this:
I'm so close to throwing and smashing things I see because this book is just UGH. INFURIATING.
Here's a breakdown of all the things that happened in this book (Contains spoilers so read at your own risk):
*Jesse is miserable and so is Ava. Jesse asks her to stay in her life (after 5 LOOOOONNNNGGGG DAYS of being apart), she agreed.
And in no particular order:
*Sappy emotional shit (i.e. ILYs and I need you) from Jesse and Ava.
*Ava having a lot of questions for Jesse. Jesse refuses to answer.
*Ava asking how old Jesse is, the bastard plays guessing game A-FVCKING-GAIN!
*Ava's pills went missing... WHY AM I NOT SURPRISED???
*Yelling. A lot of angst. Fvcking.
*Jesse: WATCH YOUR FUCKING MOUTH!
*FVCKING. Jesse asking Ava who's in control and all that shit.
*Jesse bullying Ava into saying YES to whatever he wants. Ava says YES.
*Ava's pills went missing again.
*Jesse asking Ava, Are you pregnant? or Are you eating for two? As if we didn't know already
*Sappy emotional talk again from both our MCs.
*Ava asking Jesse questions about him. Jesse nudges them.
*Ava using swear words.
*FVCKING. RETRIBUTION FVCK. Who's in control Ava? You. Who do you need, Ava? You. BLAH BLAH BLAH.
*Our MCs fighting again.
* WATCH YOUR FVCKING MOUTH!
*Emotional talk. Exchange of sweet words and all that.
This just keeps on repeating over and over.
AGAIN. AND AGAIN. AND AGAIN.
I SWEAR IT'S NEVER ENDING!!! IT'S HYSTERICAL! OMG! I WANNA SCREAM: GIMME SOMETHING NEW!!!
But, I didn't include the parts I did love in there.
This Man taught us the types of fvck. Beneath This Man added few types namely: *Retribution fvck *Sense fvck and *Truth fvck --c/o Ava (I really love this scene: PAYBACK TIME!!!)
Is Jesse still the same? Oh no. He's worse! He's more crazy than ever. And he messed up a LOT!!! And oh, we get to find out his REAL AGE! Yeah right, I found myself asking: That's his age? (view spoiler)[ The age difference isn't that big (hide spoiler)] Why make a big fuss about it? tsk tsk *shakes head*
AVA AVA AVA...I don't know what I feel about her. She easily succumbs to what Jesse wants her to do. Like really? I don't know if I want to strangle her or I want to strangle her.
Now, if you're asking me why I didn't love this as much as I loved the first book, that's because in the first book, all of the things they did were new to me, and in this book, where they all did practically the same thing as in the first book, I was kinda like: MEH. DEJA FUCKIN' VU.
I think the book tends to be repetitive, but still I kept on going, and at about 80-ish% onwards, the book made LOTS of progress. Things got more intense and I loved it!
The thing about Ruth Quinn though (view spoiler)[ I think she's from Jesse's past and she got close to Ava because she knows what Ava is in Jesse's life
she's a lesbian and has a thing for Ava because I noticed when Ava told her that she has a man, she was kinda speechless coz she thought Ava's single (hide spoiler)]
UGH, IDK what to think anymore. All I know is we'll have her on the 3rd installment.
And of course, our resident bitch Sarah makes a comeback in this book. I know you all love her, I know I do. LOL. JK.
I HATE YOU, SLUT!
Oh girl, the things I wanna do to you (and trust me, you won't like 'em) so can you just please:
SHOO! SCRAM! SKEDADDLE!
coz seriously, you're getting on my nerves. I just can't understand why Jesse isn't getting rid of her after everything she did. DITCH HER, ASSHOLE!
I won't really mind if she gets killed on the next book. *grins*
So, if you're gonna ask me if I'm gonna read the third book, I say:
ABSOFVCKINLUTELY!!! OFFVCKINCOURSE!!! ARE YOU CRAZY?! I LIKE TO TORTURE MYSELF!
Okay, I seriously need to get myself checked coz I don't think my sanity's still intact. I'm officially drained.
Life is full of luck, like getting dealt a good hand, or simply by being in the right place at the right time. Some people get luck handed to them, a second chance, a save. It can happen heroically, or by a simple COINCIDENCE , but there are those who don’t get luck on a shiny platter, who end up in the wrong place at the wrong time, who don’t get SAVED.
The story is about Callie , deemed class weirdo in their school as she chopped her hair off, wore baggy clothes and shuts down everyone. Kayden is the opposite of Callie. He's popular, dates the hottest girl in school, and has a lot of friends. They haven't really known each other eventhough they both go to the same school and are neighbors. But a party one night at Kayden's house marked their first real encounter as Callie saved Kayden (view spoiler)[ from his father's wrath (hide spoiler)] with him not able to thank her.
But fate brought them together as they meet again in College. From then on, a connection was made, a friendship has blossomed, fears conquered, LOVE WAS DEVELOPED, and together, they fought their inner demons. And found their strengths...TOGETHER.
I LOVE CALLIE. I feel for her. I feel her pain, nightmares, and struggles, and I admire how strong she is. She found a friend in Seth (who is also dysfunctional) who became her rock. He's the main reason for the change in Callie. He lets her open up and take chances. I love their friendship. Their list is inspirational.
“In the existence of our lives, there is a single coincidence that brings us together and for a moment, our hearts beat as one.”
I LOVE KAYDEN. My new book boyfriend. I admit at first, I thought he was weak, but as the story progresses and the time when he (view spoiler)[ finally stood up and fought with his douchebag of a dad, plus when he knew what Caleb did to Callie and then beat him up (hide spoiler)] I then realized how tough he is. His love for Callie is just ASDFGHJKL, I have no words. Where can I find myself a Kayden?
“Alright you want the truth?” “No, I don’t like you better this way. I like the sober Callie, the one that I can talk to. The one that is so sweet it’s fucking adorable.” I dip my face forward and breathe on her neck, moving toward the no touching line, but not crossing it. “The one that trembles just from the feel of my breath. The one that I want to kiss and touch so fucking badly it drives me crazy. The one that makes me feel things…”
I LOVE CALLIE AND KAYDEN TOGETHER. My favorite scene of them together was at 77% when Callie (view spoiler)[ finally opened up to Kayden about her secret. When she thought Kayden's going to run away from her, but it only made their relationship stronger than ever :) (hide spoiler)] and of course, the RAIN kiss.
This is the first book I've read from Jessica Sorensen, and after reading this, I'm already a FAN! This book has all elements of a GREAT read. It is wonderfully written with alternative POVs. It has likeable main characters. Heck, even the secondary characters are likeable i.e. Seth and Luke and of course, characters you'll despise and just wanna kill.
This book literally SAVED ME. I'm on a book slump recently and this was my saving grace. I devour it. That's an understatement. This book kept me up all night that when I head to bed, it's hard to close my eyes 'cause I'm still thinking about it, thinking about what will happen. This book just sucks you in.
It has the same vibe with that of Ten Tiny Breaths in the emotional level. You will find yourself hooked into the hero/heroine's lives, into the whole story as it deals with heavy issues, that you just want to finish it and see where it goes.
But, the ENDING...WHY????!!!
GRRR. I HATE CLIFFHANGERS! I was literally crying and shaking after reading it. I mean, IT CAN'T END THAT WAY!!! I know there's a second book coming, but WHEN? 'Cause I need it like yesterday!
OVERALL, reading this book was absolutely worth it! IT IS A MUST READ!
Ten Tiny Breaths is about Kacey Cleary and the Stages of her Life
Stage One ~ Comfortably Numb After a tragic drunk driving accident that took the lives of her parents, best friend, and boyfriend, Kacey became an Ice Queen. Before Kacey was a sweet girl. Her irises shined when she laughed. She had tons of friends, and she snuck in hugs and kisses and handholding with her boyfriend whenever she could. But that Kacey is gone. After Kacey? Well, she's a mess. She sunk into the world of sex, drugs and alcohol as her coping mechanism. She doesn't cry. She doesn’t open up about anything; she can’t stand the feel of hands because they remind her of death. She doesn’t let people in. Kickboxing is her way of forgetting the pain caused by her past.
I’m not Kacey Cleary anymore. I’m an empty shell who cracks inappropriate jokes and feels nothing. I’m a Kacey imposter.
After the death of her parents, together with her sister Livie (who is an angel, btw), they lived with their Aunt Darla and Uncle Raymond. But because of their uncle's little "visit" to Livie's room, Kacey decided it's time for them to leave. They came across an apartment in Miami, wherein she will meet new friends, and the guy who will change her life... Trent.
Stage Two ~ Denial Trent Emerson. Gorgeous hottie (with dimples!) neighbor. Their meeting was uneventful. Why? Because when Kacey saw Trent, she became speechless. She felt something different about him, and developed instant attraction. And then she met her other neighbor, Storm . She's blonde, hot, a real-life barbie. NUH UH. Don't judge the book by it's cover. She's NOT A BITCH. She's a genuine friend, and she also has a daughter, which Livie is very fond of. And of course, Kacey, being Kacey, shut them down and denied access to her life.
Stage Three ~ Resistance Thanks to Storm, Kacey's now working at the bar (or Strip Club) where Storm is working. They're not strippers, ok. They're bartenders. One night, she spotted Trent. And no, he's not watching the naked pretzel on the stage. He's actually watching her.
One day, when she was in the shower at her apartment, a rather funny "incident" happened, and Trent saved her...NAKED. She can't deny her attraction to him and so (view spoiler)[ she kissed him. and he kissed her. (hide spoiler)]. After that, Trent became a regular at the bar, always watching her, and Kacey starts flirting with him too. When the unimaginable happened:
So slow, so light, my fingertip skims his index finger. He still doesn’t move his hand. He remains completely frozen, as if waiting for me to make my move. Swallowing hard, I let my entire hand skate over his. I hear a sharp intake of air as he gasps, his jaw clenching. His eyes are locked on mine and they’re unreadable. Finally, his hand shifts and covers mine, his fingers gently slipping in between. Not forceful, not rushed.
I can’t contain the euphoria swelling inside me. Trent’s touch is full of life.
Then, Trent asked her: "Is this okay?"
Stage Four ~ Acceptance YES.
She answered YES to the handholding. Or maybe even more? Because after that, things became better for her.
“I want to make you smile. For real. Always. We’re going to go for dinners, and see movies, and walk on the beach. We’ll go hang-gliding, or bungee jumping, or whatever you want to do. Whatever makes you smile and laugh more.”
“Let me make you smile.”
Stage Five ~ Dependence Days pass and on each day, she realizes how attached she is to Trent. When he isn't around she misses him. She needs Trent.
So again, another problem. Trent convinced her to join a Support Group, which she agrees to. But, she cannot take it. She isn't ready (or will she ever be ready?) to talk about her past and thinks he's hurting her. And said:
“Stay away from me.” I spin around and stalk down the sidewalk. I don’t look back. Trent doesn’t chase.
Stage Six ~ Withdrawal Trent's gone. Will he come back? You have to find out what happens next.
I'll leave you with that, and the few stages of Kacey's life. Stages 7-9 ~ Breakdown. Recovery. Forgiveness. Because I think those are the most important parts of the story and I don't want to spoil it all for you :)
THOUGHTS: I LOVED IT. I love the cover. The prologue and epilogue is perfect. Ten Tiny Breaths is AMAZING. I loved all the characters in this story. They are all likable especially Kacey's sister, Livie. She's just so selfless and she's a positive person. She's mature for her age, maybe more mature than her sister, to be honest. She has one of the most beautiful lines said in this book --> "Our past isn’t who we are. I’m me and you’re you and that’s who we need to be." I hope Kacey learns from her. And I want a sister like her :) And of course, Trent. My new book boyfriend. He's a breath of fresh air ;) I love K.A. Tucker's style of writing, plus the humor and the emotions she put in the book. There's a twist in the story (which I totally figured out). IDK, man, I think it's that obvious, but I still enjoyed it and there are times I cried. I also find some of the scenes repetitive and Kacey, the heroine, can be annoying at times. Nevertheless, it's a great read!
Overall, I enjoyed reading this. This book teaches us not to dwell on the past, move on...and most importantly, learn to FORGIVE.
OH MY FREAKIN' GOODNESS!!! WOW WOW WOW...ENDLESS WOWS!
THIS IS, *HANDS DOWN*, ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I'VE EVER READ!!!

THIS IS, *HANDS DOWN*, ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I'VE EVER READ!!!
Okay, here we go...
THE EDGE OF NEVER? How about THE EDGE OF GLORY because I'm on that state when I finished reading this.
Seriously, there are NO WORDS to describe how UH-MAY-ZING this book is.
Unputdownable. Fun. Witty. Poignant...BEAUTIFUL.
This is a story of friendship... This is a story of LOVE... This is a story of serendipity... and a story of moving on, letting go, and living life...Living life in the NOW .
This is the story of Camryn and Andrew
“Have you ever wondered what it would be like to backpack across the world?” “Just you and a backpack with a few necessities. No bills. No getting up at the same time every morning to go to a job you hate. Just you and the world out ahead of you. You never know what the next day is going to bring, who you’ll meet, what you’ll have for lunch or where you might sleep.”
Camryn , once the outgoing girl that she was, has become an uptight girl because of her parents' divorce, her older brother, Cole, going to jail, and the death of her boyfriend. She doesn't feel free.
After an unexpected incident that happened when she and her best friend Nat went clubbing, she decided to leave North Carolina and go on to God-knows-where.
Enter Andrew Parrish , gorgeous green-eyed hottie who she meets at the bus, and carries the same emotional baggage as Cam's. From then on, a friendship (or more?) has developed, they have been inseparable on embarking the journey of life...and LOVE.
What I love about this book is that the characters are likeable. They have been fighting their own demons but I admire how strong and laid back Andrew is. I've been reading so many books with asshole heroes and I'm so glad that Andrew isn't one of them. He's F-U-N, outgoing, a gentleman, sweet and all! It's safe to say he's PERFECT. He made Camryn open up and relax and just enjoy life. He lets her do things she hasn't done before. He makes her feel alive.
This book also has alternating POVs but I love Andrew's POV better.
Also, I think the author is a FANGIRL, which explains all the celebrity references:
Damon is far from looking like white trash—he could be Alex Pettyfer’s younger brother.
"...the guy looked like the lovechild of…Adam Levine and…, she twirls her fingers around above her head to let another famous example materialize on her tongue...Jensen Ackles..."
"I don’t listen to Justin Bieber or that crazy meat-wearin’ bitch..."
"She and I went to school with Shay Mitchell and Hayden Panettiere, Megan Fox was prom queen, Chris Hemsworth was prom king."
"And then there was Natalie’s worst enemy, a cheerleader who tried to steal Damon away from her in tenth grade; Natalie said she was the slutty version of Nina Dobrev..."
Hihi. LOVE these lines.
Anyway, I don't think I can continue writing this without giving away too much so, I'll leave you with scenes to look out for:
*Cam and Andrew's first meeting *Andrew to the rescue *Their witty banters and crazy convos. My fave --> (view spoiler)[ We head over to the medicines and there’s a middle-aged couple standing in front of the cough syrup, reading the labels. Andrew says casually, without lowering his voice, “Babe, did you find that yeast infection stuff?” My eyes spring open and I freeze in front of the Tylenol. He removes a small box of Advil from the shelf. The couple pretends not to have heard what he said, but I know they heard him. “I mean are you even sure that’s what’s causing the itch?” he goes on and I’m literally melting from the heat in my face. The couple does glance over this time, covertly. Andrew is grinning his ass off at me from the side, pretending to be reading labels. I want to smack him, but instead, I play him at his own game. “Yeah, baby I found it,” I say as casually as he had. “What about you? Did you see if they have extra-small sized condoms?” (hide spoiler)] * CAMRYN'S ADMISSION/CONFESSION * THE LETTER!!! AND THE EPIC ENDING.
I have a lot of fave lines, but I'll leave you with this one from Andrew:
"Just that dwelling and planning is bullshit," he says. "You dwell on the past, you can’t move forward. Spend too much time planning for the future and you just push yourself backwards, or you stay stagnant in the same place all your life." His eyes lock on mine. “Live in the moment,” he says as if making a serious point, “where everything is just right, take your time and limit your bad memories and you’ll get wherever it is you’re going a lot faster and with less bumps in the road along the way."
Some of you might ask, "Does this book have HEA?" Tell you what, GO READ IT AND FIND OUT FOR YOURSELVES . I promise you, it's worth it ;)
Overall, this book made me laugh, CRY (ugly crying), and fall in love.
This is the type of book that will leave a mark to your heart. What the hell are you waiting for? READ.IT.NOW! OKAY?
In Flight is is basically, Fifty Shades of Grey meets Bared To You. You know, the usual, super rich dominant (but flawed) alpha male meets equally dysfunctional but strong and beautiful heroine, and developed instant attraction.
What I love most about this book are the characters. Bianca , despite what she's been through with her family, especially with her dad, has stayed strong. I love that she's not whiny/dramatic like most of the annoying heroines I've read in the past. She doesn't give a sh*t what others think, which is admirable.
And then, there's James Cavendish !!!
JAMES "Makes-my-panties-drop" CAVENDISH is a kinky rich bastard who, like Bianca, has a horrible past, which is also the reason why he likes to have dominance. I LOVE everything about him, idk why. He is bossy, moody, possessive, but he is also generous and can sometimes be sweet. My personal favorite scene was when Bianca got drunk and he puts her to bed and removed her makeup for her, I think that's a first, I mean I haven't read something like that in books before. And then, of course, there's his lines that will make you combust.
"Well, I came here because I very much want to fuck you until neither of us can walk. I want you so bad I can’t see straight."
"Someday soon I’m going to tie you up and tease you just the way you’re teasing me right now, with no hope for release for at least a night."
"I’m going to ruin you,” he breathed. “I’ll be your first, and I’ll fuck you so thoroughly that I’ll be your last, too. You won’t want any other man after I’ve gotten my hands on you. Every last inch of you." --though I think the word "ruin" is way over the top. LoL.
"I’m going to tie you to my bed and take your hymen. I can’t seem to think about anything else" --hymen? Really? :))
Also, I have to add that I adore Stephan so much!!! He's always there for Bianca! You see, their friendship reminded me of Eva and Cary in Bared To You. They are both gays, btw. Aside from that, these two have been inseparable since both of them had cruel pasts.
Of course, if there are lovable characters, there are also evil bitches namely Melissa and Jules . Here's a message for them:
Overall, I guess it's safe to say that I devour these types of book because I am hooked! Not a dull moment and lots of toe-curling sex that will make you say:
