It is amazing to think about the struggles and commitment of Ayaan Hirsi Ali that motivated her to move ahead in her life as she did.
The book is very honest and she could have easily not shared some of things she does. I admire her more for that. The book moved me.(less)

Greg Mortenson's desire to do something about the uneducated villages in remote Pakistan is moving and inspiring. The impact of his passion on the lives of countless young children growing up in hard core Islamic strongholds is unbelievable and unimaginable. It is so easy to think about these areas and shake your head and then there is Greg who actually strives to make a change. Loved the book, loved the life.(less)

It is a great book and really well written, most importantly it addresses an important criteria for leadership which is 'passion'.
I love the definition of passion given by the authors:
'the voluntary will to engage completely; the inner energy, drive AND desire to deliver, to achieve, and to win'
I finished this book long back did not get around to updating the status.
I have referred to it many times and it sits as a prized possession on my bookshelf.

An extremely important question that establishes the criteria to evaluate any relationship. I am not an entrepreneur, however it has come in handy for me to recognize the ambitions and desires of my team members and thus it has become an important tool, a launching pad for their performance evaluation.(less)

He is the Director of Development in Woodstock School, Mussoorie, India As I read this book I was literally transported to the times that he talked about. He has the unique gift of being an American, a Missionary kid as well as an Indian. His perspective is real. (less)

Looking at the book, I can tell you ‘Never judge a book by the cover’. Personally despite my belief and faith I do have an aversion to the overselling of Jesus, I am easily put off by something that has the name of Jesus on it simply because it is hard to know whether it is a sales gimmick or something of substance.
I started reading the book right away and I have been pleasantly surprised, this is a great book. Here is a sampling of the secrets -
- Jesus was a problem solver
- Jesus believed in His product
- Jesus never misrepresented His product
- Jesus went where people were (He connected with them)
- Jesus knew that he did not have to close a deal to be successful (He was familiar with rejection)
and so the list goes, there are 58 of these secrets.
While all of them have been espoused by some management literature at one time or another I like the fact that he connects it with Jesus. Very neat and I like it. (less)

As I flipped through the book I came across this snippet that mentioned a newly married couple. The first weekend the wife wanted to talk about their relationship, the husband relented. The next weekend once again the wife wanted to sit and talk about their relationship, the following weekend it was the same thing. Now the man began to wonder 'Hey this is not what I want.' 'What's going on?'
However on much thinking he realises 'The conversation is the relationship. The moment you stop have the conversation, the relationship comes to an end'.
I am paraphrasing, but when I read this I went and bought the book. I have read it many times and find it an extremely useful resource as I have dealt with many difficult conversations.(less)
