She is secretly having second thoughts since the relationship has not been the same in several months. Even though she has reservations she is a good girl, and lets others in her life determine life choices that effect her happiness, including her mother. When Leigh receives a phone call after dressing for her wedding, she knows the only sensible thing to do for herself is to go on her honeymoon alone. Yes, she is a runaway bride. She hides out and decides that she wants from life. No more letting other people run her life.
Leigh meets the resort pilot, Will. An altogether not likeable guy, that in a moment of near weakness was going to personally cash in on Leigh's misfortune. Will and Leigh get to know each other as acquaintances, then as friends and lovers. Will discovers that he has a partner to support him in his dream of opening up a beach bar and club. Leigh finds a new purpose in life, but all of this is not realized right away. There are trials for this couple before all turns out well. This story was entertaining, but did drag sometimes. The relationship between the two main characters was not always believable and may have attributed to the story dragging in some places. The love scenes were true to the author, but not the steamiest. Fans of the author will enjoy this book. Even though I didn't love this book, I will read more in the future from this author.

"Tempted by Her Innocent Kiss" is definitely my favorite book so far in Maya Banks' Pregnancy and Passion Series. Both the title of this book and the"Tempted by Her Innocent Kiss" is definitely my favorite book so far in Maya Banks' Pregnancy and Passion Series. Both the title of this book and the name of the series describes perfectly the story that unfolded in this book.
Ashley Copeland is a young, exuberant, glass half full kind of girl who wants the perfect fairy tale in her romantic life. She believes that Devon Carter is her prince come to help make her dreams come true. While the two have chemistry, a basis for their relationship is a lie. And I can't help but think that Devon is the dumbest coward ever.
He was immediately attracted to Ashley, wanting to keep climbing the ladder of success he agreed to a business deal by Ashley's father where the two companies would merge and Ashley's hand in marriage was part of that deal. Cold, cruel, but her father was trying to do this out of love, he sincerely failed. Devon wanted to be upfront with Ashley from the beginning and tell her about this business merger, but he heeded Mr. Copeland's wishes and took the cowards way out. Unfortunately, Ashley does find out about the deal in one of the worst ways at the worst time. Those rose covered glasses are thrown off, throwing Ashely into the harsh reality of the real world.
I didn't know if Devon could ever redeem himself. He suggested that they could make their marriage work based on mutual respect without letting something like the emotion of love, or possible lack of it get in the way. I must say that it was hard at times to like the naive Ashely, one couldn't help but sympathize with her about the way things turned out, but she decided to make another mistake, a huge one. Change who she is as a person into someone that Devon wants so that maybe he'll actually love her and marriage could really work between the two.
Well, this was a complete disaster, the only good thing about this turn of events is that Ashley decided she didn't need to change and someone who truly loved her will love her flaws and all.
Finally, Devon has an aha moment after Ashley confesses that she is pregnant and leaving him... he loved her all along, and not the idea of a perfect wife, but the real Ashely. He makes several grand gestures to win her back and set up their happily ever after together. I hope in the next book we get to visit this couple and what is going on with them.
I am looking forward to the next book in the series, both Cam and Pippa are interesting characters and I can only begin to imagine about their trip to forever. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and would recommend it to any Harlequin Desire fan or fan of the author. This story is without typical cliches and was refreshing.

Marley Kincaid is a stroI have not read anything by Elle Kennedy before, but I enjoyed Witness Seduction so much I want to read her entire back list.
Marley Kincaid is a strong woman. A nurse who loves to renovate her house and keep herself busy after a disaster with her ex-fiance, Patrick. Marley started to doubt herself in trusting her instincts when her ex wasn't who he said he was, a benign web designer, but a drug dealer who has murder on his hands. Marley since then has kept to herself and kept busy with improving her house. Unfortunately, she has a penchant for falling off of ladders.
Caleb Ford is a DEA agent, his current assignment is to watch Marley and determine if she is helping Patrick evade capture from the law. He poses as a next door neighbor, but leaves her alone until one day he was watching camera monitors and sees her hanging from a ladder. Not willing to let her hurt herself, Caleb makes contact.
Right away Marley trusts Caleb, who poses as a writer renting a neighbor's house for the summer. Caleb has had a rough life as a kid and due to his job he is not one to open up or be emotional with others. Marley is the exception, the two build a relationship and ultimately become lovers. And I must say that Kennedy's loves scenes were very steamy. I have not read many Harlequin Desires, but this one was on the steamer side, the way I prefer it.
Unfortunately Patrick is watching Marley and recognizes Caleb. He goes ballistic and wants Marley to pay. And he won't go away from her life as easily as she hoped. Caleb and Marley's relationship is tested when she finds out that Caleb's profession was all a lie, hurt and feeling sorry for herself as being duped again, she pushes him away. Only this doesn't just hurt her, but Caleb as well. For the first time in his life, he is able to care and love someone but wants to do the honorable thing. He gives her space, but will still protect her despite her protests.
The events surrounding Patrick escalate and Marley is put in the situation to rescue her brother and father from Patrick's crazy clutch. I did like both of these supporting characters. End the end everything works out and Caleb and Marley have the HEA together. I enjoyed Kennedy's writing and recommend this one to others who like suspense with their contemporary romance. As well as those who love a strong sexy man who will do anything to protect the love of his life. ...more
