We are introduced to Jessa who is a girl with a lot of hopes and dreams but she has a very overprotective father. A lot of times she’s just walking on eggshells around him trying to be the perfect daughter.
Jessa also has a brother named Riley who is in the Marines. Riley is gone a lot but when he does come home, its a fun time for Jessa. Jessa looks up to her brother and loves him with all of her heart. Riley also has a best friend named Kit. Oh man, Kit. I loved Kit. He was also in the Marines and he was such a cutie. But he’s also a bit of a player, or at least he was most of his life.
Jessa has always had a crush on Kit from the time she was a teenager. The last few years Kit’s also had a crush on Jessa but he’s never let anyone know.
Well, this time when Riley and Kit come home on leave Jessa finds herself falling more and more in love with Kit and vice versa. Their secret relationship starts and its on fire!
I just loved the chemistry between them. And their relationship. Things aren’t always perfect though. They go through alot together and things happen.
I also want to mention this one is more New Adult than Young Adult. Or at least it should be.
As you can tell, things aren’t hunky dory all the time and people die, and people live, and things happen.
Overall: It’s hard to put this one into words. It was really good in a way but I also at times wanted to skip ahead just to see what happened. A lot of the book is also spent on moping and that really bugged me. LOL. I just wanted happiness. This one is definitely worth the read though and you might like it a bit more than me. I did really enjoy it but I think for me its more of a 3.5 contemp read.
Cover: Love it! I’d pick this one up for the cover alone! Very sweet!
My Thoughts: Another little novella in the Mythos Academy series! Spartan Frost tells a little story from Logan’s point of view. Basically what happenMy Thoughts: Another little novella in the Mythos Academy series! Spartan Frost tells a little story from Logan’s point of view. Basically what happens after book 4 where Logan almost killed Gwen.
This one explores the feelings Logan has and his inner troubles he’s going through. It's just a little glimpse into his mind.
I really enjoy this series and I thought this was was a cute little novella. It really isn’t very deep and not much happens but it gives me a little bit more understanding of Logan.
Overall:This one was a very quick read, with a little under 50 pages! I liked it! Glad we are getting to know Logan better.

I tend to read more books where girls are the main characters. But I did enjoy What You Left Behind. We are introduced to Ryden who has a daughter who is just a baby. He was with a girl who got sick and is no longer around. This was pretty devastating. Ryden is trying to do what he can to survive. He’s going to high school, has a job, and trying to support his baby with the help of his mom.
Ryden meets a new girl at his job. He feels guilty even having some sort of feelings for this other girl since it hasn’t been that long since his girlfriend died.
I really liked Ryden’s mom. She got it. She understood him a lot better than most moms would. She supported him. She loved him. She loved his baby. She understood.
Most of the book, we spent time looking for his old girlfriend's Meg’s notebooks. She left a few notebooks laying around for Ryden and a few others that explained her feelings during her last days.
I did like this one. It was also a very fast read for me. I liked Ryden as well but I never really fully connected with him even though I wanted too. I also liked Joni and her personality and how she understood Ryden and got it.
Overall: I liked this one. I read it in a night, Flew right through it. I think this one is more of a 3.5 cupcake rating for me.
Cover: Like it. Its kind of dark but still interesting.

We are introduced to Rose who has been watching her mother deteriorate pretty fast. Her mother has the early onset of Huntington Disease and it seems to be getting worse over time. Sometimes she’ll seem okay, others not so much. Rose is so scared she also has this gene. She wants to live her life to the fullest but it's hard for her. She wants to go to ballet school and have a successful career.
Rose meets a boy named Caleb. His family also suffers from another genetic curse. Sickle Cell. He knows the heartbreak and trouble of living with people with a genetic disease. I loved Rose and Caleb’s relationship. It started off slow and picked up! I loved the moments with him and seeing them together.
I really felt for Rose. I would want to know too if I carried the gene. It would drive me crazy watching my family deal with things hers did and not knowing.
Rules For 50/50 Chances was a really wonderful debut. The ending. wow. I don’t know if I’d agree with happened but I try to see things from both sides.
Overall: I did enjoy this one. I think at times, I wanted to know how it was going to end right away but I made my way there even though I wanted to skip ahead! HAHA!
Cover: Like it! I’d probably pick it up! Made me wonder what is about.
My Thoughts: I really enjoyed Everything Everything a lot. It was a really cute and fun story even if it wasn’t purely happy all the time.

We are introduced to Madeleine who has lived most of her life indoors. She has a rare disease that makes her allergic to the outside world. If she goes outside, she can get sick and die. Her mother has been treating her most of her life. Her mother monitors everything on a daily basis, even takes her temperature.
Maddy has watched a lot of her life through her bedroom window. She watches cars go by, she watches new neighbors move in and out.
She has one true friend, and that is the woman who comes in and helps take care of her.
When a new family moves in next door, Maddy is instantly drawn to him through her bedroom window. She ends up talking to him through the window and then through the computer. She starts falling for Olly. Maddy and Olly have a complicated relationship since they can’t do normal couple teenager stuff. But, they are “handling” it.
I really did enjoy this one and I was thrilled during a few parts. My jaw about hit the floor when Olly got into a fight with his father!!! I also liked how things played out even if things weren’t ever perfect.
I really enjoyed this one!
Overall: Maddy and Olly were both such enjoyable characters. I liked both of their personalities. What a great book! I finished it pretty quick! Addicting!
Cover: Like it. I’m not really sure if I would be majorly attracted to it though. I’m glad I read the summary so I gave it a chance.
My Thoughts: I really loved Stitching Snow last year when I read it! And, I enjoyed this one I’m not too familiar with the story of The Seven Swans.

We are introduced to Liddi who lives in a world where she’s the richest of them all and will have a lot of power one day. A day very soon.
She has eight brothers! What a big family. Her mother and father are both dead. Her brothers are all some kind of inventors and she’s expected the same fate but she has a lot more trouble than any of them. She doesn’t have as many ideas or she thinks not.
Well, when Liddi gets put in a position where she’s under siege and people are out to get her, she travels to another place to get help. But, she actually doesn't quite end up where she wants to go and ends up somewhere else. She meets a boy named Tiav. I really liked him. I was drawn to get from the get go. Just something about him was sweet and sincere.
I really liked watching Liddi get to know Tiav, even without speaking and how things happened slowly between them. I also liked seeing how her mind worked on how she was going to get everything back to the way it should be.
I really did like this one. It was complex yet a fast read for me. And, I was happy with the ending.
Overall: This was a bit confusing at times, but I flew right through it. Its one of those books you have to go into with an open mind and know things can happen that might not happen in our world. I really enjoyed getting to know Liddi and Tiav.

This book centers around Tim! You may remember him as Jase’s friend, and a friend of the Garretts. For some reason, I didn’t like Tim as much as Jase. He was alright and he was a good guy overall, I just didn’t feel as drawn to him. And, Tim has started developing a thing for Alice. Remember her as Jase’s sister? Alice and Tim had some amazing chemistry. They also knew deep down that they probably shouldn’t be together but they were so drawn to each other they couldn’t stay away from one another. And they brought out a lot of hidden qualities in each other. Tim is always the wild one and Alice was always laid back taking care of everyone else’s problems.
And, when Tim finally reveals he has feelings for Alice, another hurdle gets in their way, and it isn’t a small one at all! Its crazy and intense. Tim all of a sudden has a new responsibility and he’s trying to take control of his life.
I won’t go into many details but I just want to say I really did like this one, but I just didn’t love it as much as My Life Next Door. But, I was happy to see some of the characters from that one make an appearance in this one. Well, a lot of the characters! I still love the big family and all their shenanigans.
Overall: Glad I got to read this one! I had been waiting a long time! LOL. As soon as I heard about it, I knew I had to read it!!! I will read anything by Fitzpatrick!!! I just adore her books!
Cover: I really do like it! Love the colors and the way they are holding hands!

We are intrMy Thoughts: I’ve already read a few books this year about weight loss. And, while I’m trying to lose weight, I know its hard! Really hard!
We are introduced to Ashley who is a bigger girl. She’s pretty much accepted that she’s not skinny and she’s ok with the way she looks for the most part. She’s used to her body.
Every year her grandmother tries to offer her something to make her lose the weight. I know, I know this sounds horrible and it is, but I think the grandmother does just want whats best for Ashley even though this isn’t really the best way to go about it. I liked the beginning of the story. Ashley was a character to really like and root for. But, by the middle it just wasn’t holding my interest like I like books to do. I usually fly through them and this one just had me putting it down more than picking it up. I just had a hard time really getting into it.
I liked this one enough and I liked the ending the most. I just had a hard time with it. I liked the side characters too. I liked Ashley’s dad, and her friends.
Overall: I liked this one enough, I did finish it. I just couldn’t stay in tune with it I guess. I can see where some will love this book to pieces but it was just okay for me. Which is ok by me since I can’t love every single book I read!
Cover: Like it! Love the blueish color. Also the dresses!
My Thoughts: Wow, this one was so amazing and I enjoyed every minute of it. Part of me wishes it was longer. I didn’t want it to end!

We are introduced to Sadie who has survived a car accident. In the car was her best friend Trent. Sadie grew up with Trent and was always around him. Losing him devastates her but she also loses part of herself. Her self confidence. In the accident, she gets quite a few scars and has to live with the aftermath. The only person who really gets it is Trent’s younger brother Max. Max was also in the car that day. His trauma was his voice-box. He has gotten somewhat better but still has a raspy voice. In the car in front of them was Sadie’s boyfriend and another friend.
The Lies About The Truth was a wonderful novel. We see Sadie drift away from her boyfriend and she gets closer to Max. They email each other for a while because Max left for awhile with his parents. Once Max is back, Sadie and Max get to know one another in a new way. I just want to tell you everything that happens but this is one of those romantic sweet novels that I want everyone to read. It has so much going on, it's just not rainbows and sunshine. I enjoyed getting to know Sadie and Max and seeing their struggles and understanding them.
Overall: I really loved this one. Probably one of my favorites of the year so far! I just loved Max. So adorable! And I really did like Sadie's voice!
Cover: Love it! It just fits perfectly! The teens, the car, it just works! Cute!

We are back with Penny and her group of friends from The Lonely Hearts Club. This is just a short little novella. Its about what happens to the gang on Halloween. Just a little scene on what goes on and what they dress up as and how they scare each other.
I really love Penny and her friends. I can’t wait to read the other novellas and get to the actual second book in the series.
Overall: This was about 35 pages long so it was very short. I liked this little glimpse into Halloween though. Probably more of a 3.5 cupcake rating.
