H...more Heather Montgomery is 29, attractive in an understated way, responsible, a successful accountant and, to her mother’s ever-growing despair, single. Here she is, approaching her 30th birthday without a single prospect in sight, suffering through yet another ugly dress fitting, this time as the obligatory family bridesmaid to snooty, rich cousin Regina, and dreading the weekend bridesmaid trip to Vegas with the slim, gorgeous bride and her other four equally gorgeous sorority sister bridesmaids.
Tony McCaffrey is a man who knows how to have a good time. With his movie star looks, bone-melting smile and Texas charm, he’s a favorite with the ladies…many ladies. He likes them tall, slim, blonde, beautiful and not too intelligent. He’s about to realize his dream of buying his favorite watering hole, McMillan’s when his loan falls through. Out of options and, with the closing on Monday, Tony has no choice but to fly to Vegas for the weekend and try to win the money he needs to make his dream come true.
In the lobby of her Vegas hotel, Heather is shocked to find herself standing next to Tony McCaffrey, the man she secretly fantasizes about during her regular visits to McMillan’s Bar and Grill back home but knows she could never attract. Tony, of course, doesn’t remember ever seeing Heather before but when her good luck charm wins him the $20,000 he needs to fulfill his dream he whisks her off in a limo for a champagne celebration, never intending more than one night of fun. Conservative, by-the-book, Heather and laid-back, playboy Tony are both equally horrified to awaken the next morning in bed together with a marriage certificate on the dresser. They’re a little fuzzy about the prior evening’s champagne-induced events however, since they’re both still dressed they know the marriage hasn’t been consummated and are relieved to agree to a simple, uncomplicated annulment…until the fateful moment when Heather remembers that post-wedding phone call to her mother.
While on the surface this particular storyline would appear to be light and predictable, in reality Graves has created a rich, complex story of emotional growth, acceptance and forgiveness. Tony and Heather are imbued with layers that are not readily apparent and their journey of self-discovery and growth is funny, poignant, steamy and ultimately satisfying. (less)

Though newspapers have dubbed him the "luckiest man in Texas" because of his mysterious ability to sense, and ward off, trouble before it occurs Logan knows his luck is anything but good.
Caroline Kilpatrick fell in love with Logan Grey the first time she saw him at the tender age of 8. He was the first boy to kiss her and nine years later he was the 18 year old louse who married her, bedded her and rode away the next morning without looking back. Unbeknownst to Caroline, he'd been hired by her father to marry his daughter in a fake ceremony in order to give her father access to Caroline's inheritance.
Fifteen years later... Logan finds himself in the middle of a bank robbery. He's frantically trying to form a plan to save the hostages when a gorgeous woman slips him a gun then proceeds to help him stop the robbery. Logan is stunned, mystified and totally captivated by the beautiful stranger but when he turns to thank her after the robbers have been subdued she's nowhere to be found.
Caroline Kilpatrick is furious! After traveling to Fort Worth with one goal in mind, to find Logan Grey, the last man in the world she wants to see, and convince him to help her rescue her beloved foster father from the outlaw-infested Black Shadow Canyon then helping him foil the bank robbery, the "lying, rotten, no-good, low-life, snake-breath, dirt-eating, overstuffed, ignorant, heartless, bug-eyed, stiff-legged, spotty-lipped, worm-headed, dog" didn't even recognize her! Truth be told, for reasons only he knows, Logan has purposely blocked Caroline and the years that immediately followed that time of his life from his memory. He has no idea that Caroline's father died two months after the "wedding", leaving her homeless and destitute. He doesn't know that he left Caroline pregnant and is the father of her son, Will, and he sure as shootin' has no idea that the marriage was, in fact, legal and the smart, feisty, gorgeous woman who helped him foil the bank robbery is his wife!
So begins another terrific historical Texas romance from the incomparable Geralyn Dawson who has delighted readers with her many adventurous and heartwarming stories. In this first book of her new "The Good Luck Grooms" series, Dawson leads Caroline and Logan on a tumultuous journey that risks their lives and tests their resolve as they face down killer tornadoes and killer outlaws while searching for their missing loved ones. Even more perilous, perhaps, is their intensely emotional journey of the heart as they rediscover the special, but tenuous bond that has always been between them and that eventually grows into a deep and abiding love. But is love enough for Logan to overcome his fears and stay with his newly found family or will he once again turn his back on Caroline and Will to live the life of the Loner?
Don't miss this fast-paced, action-packed, emotionally satisfying story! (less)

While walking her elderly neighbor's dog through the woods one night Erin discovers a dying man - a tall, buff, incredibly gorgeous, pointy-eared, dying man - who turns out to not be a man at all, but an elf!
The bond between Galan of Longtail Rock and the land that keeps him alive has been broken by the evil dark elf, Fellseth, and Galan is struggling for his last breath when Erin's touch inexplicably infuses him with energy and renews his life force. A life-giving bond between the two is created in that moment and neither of their lives will ever be the same. Erin finds herself in the midst of a community of elves struggling to hold on to their life-sustaining lands while battling the dark elf intent on killing them by stealing those lands and the humans who are unknowingly destroying the natural habitat that the elves have occupied for hundreds of years. Erin joins forces with Galen and the other good elves to defeat Fellseth but just when they think they have him outwitted, the dark elf sets his evil sights on Erin.
It's a testament to Rose's superb writing skill that I was able to suspend belief and immerse myself completely in this fast-paced, delightful and emotionally satisfying, magical tale. The relationship between Galan and Erin is romantic and frequently poignant while at the same time sprinkled with the humor you would expect when bringing together a practical, independent, 21st century woman with a sexy, sensual, supremely confident elf who has been around for more than 250 years. The crisp dialogue kept me turning pages late into the night and whet my appetite for more elf tales from this gifted debut author. (less)

Mojo is a young woman who is an intriguing blend of tough, independent, stubborn and vulnerable with a bit of rebel thrown in, a perfect fit for modern day Arizona. At the age of five she witnessed the brutal murder of her parents, which she has blocked from memory. She was kidnapped by her babysitter, Lillian, who feared for her safety. She was given a new name, Mojo Sheepshanks, and spent her life moving from one town to the next with Lillian and Greer, a runaway they found in a bus station when Mojo was 10. Lillian later married and a loving stepfather and his daughter, Jolie were added to the small family. Mojo is drifting through life doing medical billing from her small apartment over Bad-Ass Bert’s Biker Saloon, the only home she can afford since her cheating (and now dead) ex-husband Nick and his wealthy mother managed to strip her of everything in the divorce, and devouring her many volumes of The Damn Fool’s Guide to just about everything. Tiffany, her ex’s girlfriend is stalking her because Tiffany was in the car with Nick when it crashed, causing Nick to die and Tiffany’s fake boobs to pop. Tiffany blames Mojo. Go figure. Tucker, a hunky undercover cop and her former lover, wants back in her life and her bed but it isn’t Tucker who she awakens to find next to her one morning. No, the voice she hears in her ear and the hand caressing her hip belong to none other than her ex-husband…her dead ex-husband. It seems Nick is stuck in the station and won’t be allowed to take the train to heaven until he makes amends for the many times he betrayed Mojo during their marriage. Life for Mojo Sheepshanks will never be quite the same, especially after she finds out that Nick has put the word out at the train station to heaven that Mojo is the person ghosts should contact to resolve the issues preventing them from leaving. The ghostly fun has just begun.
I couldn’t turn the pages of this book fast enough. The dialogue is smart and snappy, with lots of action, a murder mystery, life and death struggles, a ghost cat, long lost relatives who may not be what they seem, an annoying ex-husband ghost who just may redeem himself in death and love scenes with the very alive Tucker that almost melt the page. The story is blessed with a terrific cast of secondary characters, many of whom are involved in the main mystery within DEADLY GAMBLE and some who are used to set up the mysteries that run through the second book in this series, DEADLY DECEPTIONS.
