This book is an insomniac's best friend... and a bibliophile's dream.
When you're not reading it, you'll be thinking about it. You may possibly hear ofThis book is an insomniac's best friend... and a bibliophile's dream.
When you're not reading it, you'll be thinking about it. You may possibly hear of similar events reported on the news; find yourself becoming more aware of tragedies happening around the world. You may even find yourself playing connect-the-dots to a larger picture. (My connect-the-dots moment came with the elusive "Black Pages" which were a highly sought after medieval artifact... Personally, I wondered if the "Black Pages" weren't from the real life "Codex Gigas" also known as "The Devil's Bible"). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Codex_Gigas Things like this are just part of the fun with this book.
Kicks off in high gear, slows down to medium at a few points, but races faster than the speed of sound at others! With hair-raising turns, twists in the plot, mystery, suspense, need I say more? Two things this book is not - it's never dull or boring.
Perfect pacing, easy to follow, and fleshed-out, believable characters. Don't let the size scare you! You won't believe how many pages you've read (or how much time has gone by) when you manage to stop and glance at a clock. When I finished, I wanted more. Much more.
If you love your suspense filled with action, mystery, conspiracy, horror, sudden betrayals, a twist of history, and end of the world scenarios, then this is the book you've sought! The holy grail of apocalyptic literature!
Do yourself a favor, and pick up a copy of this one. I warn you however, once you start this book, you will not be able to stop. I recommend reading this one on your days off, unless you can work with little to no sleep!
Mr. Finney, I'm definitely looking forward to reading more by you! Please write more novels! You also Mr. Snell!
