I have to admit that I had no idea this was part of a series. I saw it on NetGalley's read now and thought it looked interesting. I am getting into comics and graphic novels this year. I enjoyed this graphic novel. I had to read it on my Macbook, and the artwork was outstanding. It contributed to the story. The plot was on point. I read some reviews, and some people said they figured out who the killer was from the beginning but I am dumb when it comes to mysteries, so I did not figure it out. I hope I am not the only one this stupid. Is there anyone out there like me that can never figure out who the murderer is? I hope so. It would be sad to be the MOST dumb person. #plsdontletmebetheonlyone
Anyway, I enjoyed Charlene Harris's other work, and this one did not disappoint. I am always leery when a book is translated into a graphic novel, but this one is great. It kept the spirit of the original story. I always enjoy seeing the artist idea of what the people in the story looked like and this matched what I had in my head from the original story. I felt that the pacing was excellent. It did not drag out or anything it kept me engaged and turning the pages. Like I said, I had to read it on my computer, and I HATE reading stuff like that on my computer but with this novel it made me forget about that and I kept clicking on the pages anxious to see who the killer was. This book can be read as a stand alone. I read it as such and felt I had enough information to get the story. This review was originally posted on Adventures in Never Never Land...more

I read The Miracle Morning a while back, and it changed my life. Seriously when I first read it I was like bullshit, but then I tried it out, and it upped my productivity. When I was browsing Kindle Unlimited, and I saw they had A Miracle Morning for writers I was intrigued. So I downloaded it and started reading. The short version is you do your miracle morning then you do your writing for the day.
It does go into detail about how you can make money writing. Most of the information I already knew. I am not going to say that this was a bad book, but rather I was hoping for a new insight or something different than what I got. I had read SO...MANY... Books on writing so I am not sure how something can be NEW, but it could have at least have been packaged in a more appealing way. I mean You Are A Badass does not have anything new in it per se, but the way it is packaged made it worth te read.
I am so not a morning person and the idea of waking up in the wee hours of te morning to do shit just don't appeal to me. I do the routine though when I wake up, but I refuse to get up at 5 am just do follow someone idea of a great morning. The reason I work from home and for myself is precisely to avoid having to be productive at an unholy hour of the day.
