Her Protagonist, a writer for Dog World Magazine, somehow winds up mixed up in solving a crime in each book. The books are fun and imaginative. They're not "War and Peace," but who wants to read serious non-fiction books all of the time? This series of books will keep you guessing till the end as to who the "killer" or "bad guy" is? Great to bring with you to read on the beach, pool side or on your train travels to and from work.(less)

People tend to "speak" for their pet in baby talk. Animals honestly will communicate with a human being who is willing to take the time to learn their language. Marta Williams' book helps to teach the human being how to intuitively "listen" to your furred friend. From someone who has practice this my whole life, I give 5 stars. Excellent book! (less)

This book was quite good, but I think it's more for the dog owner who is looking for answers to every day problems. I liked the fact that Ms. Schwartz utilized only positive training techniques. I think it's important for people to remember that dogs have feelings and memories. If you continually lay an unkind hand to them in an attempt to break a negative behavior, don't be surprised when your dog becomes afraid of you and starts showing more severe negative behaviors. (i.g., Submissive Urination) All in all, this is a good book with solid tips for training.(less)

She was showcased on a Segment of "Oprah" on a show about "Idiot Savants" I remember as vividly now, how angry I was then, that they referred to any of the People, whom I felt they were exploiting for the financial gain of the Psychologist who had been studying them since their childhood. Still, I was doing my Undergraduate Thesis on Autism and while biting my lip a few times, watched in fascination as Ms. Grandin would "snap out of her inner world" for a moment and say or do something remarkable. Unfortunately, the "What" at this point has failed my memory.
I read this book when it was first published in 2005. It didn't surprise me that she had the ability to communicate with animals. My own research had led me to the argument that Autism and Animal Communication were so tightly entwined that one day someone would crack that code.
This book is well written. It will leave you teary eyed at times, while just fascinate you at others. This is a must read! (less)
