Taste of Darkness was kind of gruesome at times. There was a lot of war and violence and had some really sadistic characters. The walking dead and cannibalism were not the funnest things to read about.
But countering out that gruesomeness was humor and romance and mystery and adventure. I wish we had gotten just a little bit more right at the ending and that things had not wrapped up quite so quickly. I am so grateful that I got the happily ever after I wanted for the characters I cared about most but there were a few loose ends that could have been tied up and I can never get enough of Avry and Kerrick so I would have loved another chapter.
Not much more I can say without giving away too many details of this great story. I highly recommend this series.

I don't want the details, I much prefer scenes to fade to black and have the door close. Entangled's Bliss line always closes the door but the problem with this line of book is that you never know how much lead up and foreplay you will get before the door closes. Some of their titles are squeaky clean and others push the limits. They are cute, quirky, quick reads that usually have an enjoyable story line so I keep reading these titles hoping the next one will be one I love.
Loved Bites pushed the limits. There was a lot of innuendo, roaming hands and foreplay described. It didn't cross the line into their "Red Hot Bliss" line of books but it had more content than the previous books of Ophelia's that I have read and loved. The entire book took place over the course of little more than 24 hours. Within 24 hours of actually meeting the main characters are sleeping together. That's not a lot of time for anything more than lust and desire to develop which is probably what turned me off and lowered my overall opinion of the book.
I really liked the shark elements of the story and was interested in the little mystery as to what was going on and what secrets were being kept hidden. I've read several of Ophelia's books and she manages to hook me and keep me reading every time.
If you read typical romance this will be mild to you and you will probably wonder what my issue is. If you are a squeaky clean reader this one is probably not for you.
Rating: 3 Stars - Worth reading
Content: insta-love which felt more like insta-lust (the whole book takes place in little more than 24 hours), lots of innuendo, no actual sex scene but lots of lead up to it, sexual tension, foreplay and some language.

I was not planning on reading this book yet because it doesn't come out until October 1st and there are several other books I really should have read first. I picked up Cinder and Ella to just read the first chapter and didn't put it down! I read the entire thing in one sitting. This really shouldn't have surprised me because I love Kelly Oram! Honestly there are just a few authors that write in a way that sucks me in and won't let me come up for air until I've finished their book. Kelly is one of those writers.
I'm a sucker for Cinderella retellings so this was destined to be a favorite of mine. What teenage girl hasn't dreamed of having someone famous fall for her and sweep her off her feet. We all know that is not reality but it is sure fun to dream and escape into a fun story like one.
Underlying the fairy tale there were beautiful messages about love and acceptance. This book gave me the "feels". I had tears and smiled and laughed out loud. It was a seriously fun escape from the housework that I had intended to do the day I read this.
There is some "content" in this one. Nothing as over the top as her book A is for Abstinence contained. I did let my 14 year old read this one but warned her about a few things before she started it and she too loved it.
On a random note - I actually googled The Druid Prince a couple chapters into this story because I thought it was a real book and I wanted to read it. Utterly disappointed it isn't a real story... maybe Kelly will write it (hint, hint).
Rating: 5 Stars - I loved it.
Content: language (I let me teenager read it and she pointed out that there was more than I realized), innuendo and talk of sex but nothing graphic or too over the top.

There is a lot of passionate kissing and a few mild swear words but otherwise they are clean. The characters are good people with good morals and values and they try to do the right thing. When I'm done reading I have my happily ever after and a smile on my face.
This book is 1st in the series but I read the series backwards because that is they way Kimberly wrote and released them. If you haven't read any of the stories in this series then I recommend you start with this one but they really can be read out of order.
This was a fun story. It had a very similar feel and format as the other books in the series had. Nothing really original especially since I had already read the other two stories but it put a smile on my face. I enjoyed the developing relationship between Reese and Blake. Reese had a lot of spunk to her which made their interactions fun to read.
If you like me enjoy your romance on the clean side with a bit of sizzle then you should take a look at this series.
Rating: 4.5 Stars - Highly recommend

The first few pages were really funny I actually burst out laughing and ended up reading the book to my son. Unfortunately after the first few pages I was not impressed as the boy began his search for a new butt. I'm sure there are kids who will love this book but once through was enough for me. I have no clue how to even rate a book like this so I'm leaving the start rating blank as I'm not the target audience for this one. I didn't hate it but it's not one I would say you have to go out and purchase.

Yes I read another Shannon Guymon book. I am hooked on these books set in Fircrest, WA. This is book 2 in this series but the 8th book set in this town. I recommend starting at the beginning or you will have missed a lot of back story. I'm not ready to be done with Fircrest so I'm hoping for another trilogy giving us at least a dozen books. I can think of a handful of characters we have been introduced to that I want to see find their happily ever after so I hope Shannon continues to write these stories.
While I did unquestionably love this book it did feel a little less polished than it could have been. There were a few minor editing errors and a couple scenes I thought could have been developed a little better. However, these issues didn't stop me from staying up until the wee hours of the morning to finishing reading this book and I can't wait for the next book to be released.
I highly recommend Shannon's books to those who enjoy clean romance.
Rating: 5 Stars - I loved it.

I'm a huge Jane Austen fan and have read all her books. I know some of her stories much better than other one. I easily saw some of the parallels and was oblivious to others.
The first few chapters of this book are really confusing. We are thrown into the story and there are way to many people, places and names dropped on us all at once. It made my head spin but I'm glad I stuck with the story cause I ended up really enjoying it. The story did settle down some as it went on but the whole story was faced paced and jumped all over the place from one story line to another. I wished we had a little more of just the main 3 couples or 4 couples and a little bit less of everyone else. Including so many characters from so many different novels ultimately detracted from Jane & Austen's story where I wished the author had spent more time.
There is a little guide at the back of the book that matches up the characters in this story with the characters from Jane Austen's books. A few times when I was confused I wish I had realized it was there although it is "spoilery" so ultimately I'm glad I didn't read it until the end.
This is a clean read that I can recommend to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance. It has a young adult feel to it even though technically it would be classified as New Adult or Romantic Comedy due to the age of the characters.

I enjoyed it reading it as an adult, it would work as a read aloud to my 8 year old or I could give it to my 12 year old to read on his own.
Set is Salem, Spell Check weaves a tale with a new spin on witches based on Scandinavian folklore. While somewhat predictable this story has lot of unique elements that made it an enjoyable ready.
If you enjoy fantasy and are looking for an original, entertaining story that is squeaky clean give Spell Check a try. It's a story with a good blend of fantasy, friendship, family and fun with a little romance mixed in.

So cute! What Jane Austen obsessed fan hasn’t dreamed of having a Mr. Darcy of their own? This was such an enjoyable read that I highly recommend.
A squeaky clean, sweet read that is perfect for 21st Century Jane Austen lovers like me! This one goes on my keeper shelf. I love books that I can recommend without hesitation to anyone be it my teenager, neighbor or grandma. Even those who have never read Pride and Prejudice or seen the movie (surely there aren’t many of you out there!) are sure to enjoy this clean romance.
