We have followed the prophecy and the growing evil of the Varinski’s and the growing illness of Konstantine hoping that the curse will be broken in time. It seems to have come down to the last son – but that means Firebird isn’t who she or her family believed her to be. What does this mean for the curse, how will they find the last piece of the icon?
It is a nightmare that Firebird can not wake from – her whole life has been false, the family she believed to be hers is not and worse she thinks she knows who is the rightful fourth child of the Wilder family. It will take all the courage that she possesses to find out the truth and hopefully bring an end to the curse.
Doug Black never understood why Firebird ran from him but he’s been searching ever since. He believes that is one of the evil Varanski clan but has no idea what that really means. Somehow he has dug himself into a hole and the only way out may be his death.
A smashing conclusion to this series, Into the Flame, delivers big time. Like a roller coaster ride, Ms. Dodd serves up Into the Flame one traumatic, desperate piece at a time. You will be quickly immersed in this last installment of the series – with so many loose ends to tie up you won’t be able to put this down until you’ve turned the last page. (less)

The prophecy has been playing out in this series but the third brother was thought to be dead so it was a huge surprise to his family to find out that he was alive and with his mate running for their lives.
Karen Sonnet was a daughter never wanted, struggling to earn her father’s love and respect she has worked the family business from the bottom up. But when it came to this latest venture at the edge of a very dangerous and “evil” mountain she’s had enough. The only thing keeping her there have been the overnight visits by her dream lover.
Warlord is hard, no one gets past his walls – until his eyes fall on Karen. Then changes begin to overcome him he hadn’t thought possible. When the worst occurs he sends her away to save her life but his becomes a living hell. Knowing that she is his mate he plans for them to be together and help his family break the curse they have been under for the last 1,000 years.
Ms. Dodd gives her readers one hell of a ride, from the mountains in Asia to Washington State, we are kept enthralled with the depth of the story and the intensity and passion of the characters. If you haven’t read the previous two books in the series you can still read this one, but you’ll be missing an awesome experience. Into the Shadow as well as the rest of the Darkness Chosen series has found a home on my keeper shelf. (less)

Given the option of protecting humankind for eternity or crossing over to Heaven, these seven brave men choose to protect and serve. Red Fire is the first book in this series and is filled with demons, hunters, immortals, gods and oracles. There isn’t one slow sentence in this book and I couldn’t put it down until I finished.
Ajax is burnt out. He’s fought the good fight for over 2,500 years and he’s exhausted and would prefer to drown his troubles in alcohol instead of going on. There is only thing keeping him from madness, and that is the prophecy that there is a mortal woman, Shay Angel, who is destined to be his mate. The only problem – he has no idea where she is or what time period she’ll be living in.
Shay has just buried her mother and is trying to hold off demons that are now threatening her. But she’s not supposed to be able to see the demons. Over protected by her two older brothers she stubbornly sets out by herself to get some answers when she is captured by demons.
Red Fire is an excellent story. Evil abounds and yet through it all there is goodness so pure it is amazing. I loved that this demon story is so unlike any others I’ve read before; the entire story is pure genius – original, enticing and thoroughly entertaining. Red Fire has earned a place on my keeper shelf – and I can’t wait to see where this series goes next! (less)

It is also the first in her new Demonica Series. This is my first exposure to this author but I can tell you I’m waiting with baited breath for the next book to come out, and I’ll probably go exploring her backlist as well. Ms. Ione has woven a very tight plot, laced throughout with sub-plots and a score of extremely interesting secondary characters.
Tayla is a demon-slayer and she doesn’t know how to do anything else but despise and kill them. The tables are turned on her, however, when she ends up in a hospital set up to treat all kinds of demons. So what is she doing there, one of the most feared and deadly? And how can the doctor be a demon and so absolutely gorgeous.
Eidolon has a problem, he’s about to make his final change into maturity, and unless he finds a mate he could go mad and have to be “put down” for the sake of humankind. So…knowing that he needs a demon mate why is his attraction to Tayla so all encompassing? Try as they might they can’t resist each other and when they get together I’m surprised New York City doesn’t burn to the ground from the sheer heat of their passion. Usually calm and level headed, Eidolon is no match for the hotheaded slayer who needs his help.
I really loved Pleasure Unbound and was sorry to turn the last page. From start to finish, filled with intrigue, double crosses and more passion than should be able to fit into one novel, this one is definitely a winner. I suggest you give this story a read and learn how the world isn’t just black or white but many shades of grey. (less)

Each story focuses on one of the three brothers, the last Lords of the Satyr and the trials they go through to find their half fairy mates in an effort to protect their secrets and their lives.
After a horrific first marriage the last thing Raine wants is another wife. But he must follow the wishes of King Feydon and find his mate. He travels from his home in Tuscany to Venice for a conference on a disease affecting Europe’s grape vines but inadvertently comes across a glorious enigma. Of course she turns out to be the one for whom he has been searching, he just doesn’t know it yet.
Jordan dreads her birthday. Every year she spends it suffering and away from her loved ones and every year she hopes it will be different. She gets her wish when she meets up with Raine. After she experiences a night of passion beyond her wildest imaginings she finds that her entire world has changed.
Raine takes Jordan to the Satyr Estates in Tuscany and brings her to his home intending on marrying her as is duty but he tries to ensure she doesn’t get too close. Jordan would like nothing more than the love of this man and a family but she can’t bring herself to subject him to the scandal if her secrets are revealed. Raine is tormented by his sexual feelings – thinking them too savage to unleash upon anyone.
True to Nicholas, the first book in the series, Raine and Jordan go through much adversity to find their way to love and it is one amazingly erotic trip. None of the Satyrs will ever need a “little blue pill” and Jordan is Raine’s equal in sexual appetite.
Jordan is an incredibly strong female lead and can hold her own against the dynamic Raine. The suspense, erotic love scenes and magic of this book will not disappoint.
Set in the Regency Era it is fantasy and erotica all rolled into one splendid package tied with a huge red bow. So pour yourself a glass of wine, sit back and relish the opening of this present delivered by Elizabeth Amber. You won’t want to miss one passionate word.
Though it is the second book in the series and can stand one its own I would encourage you to read Nicholas as well. Lyon the third brother’s story will be out in October of this year and I can’t wait. The Lords of Satyr series will find a permanent place on my bookshelf to be read and re-read, these characters too wonderful to let loose.(less)

She worries about her manners; takes night classes and never drinks in pubic. She doesn’t use her vampire powers (at least that’s what she tells herself) and just wants to live a normal “afterlife.”
Deke Saber is a very sexy special investigator. He is assigned to check out all vampire, were, and other-worldly incidents. When Saber first meets Cesca he’s sure she’s just like all the other vampires he’s met and sure she’s guilty of the murder he was called in to help investigate.
Things get stranger and Cesca’s life is threatened so Saber volunteers to be her body guard…but he wants to do much more than just guard it.
This is a very cute story including suspense, murder and a giggle or two. You can’t help but fall in love with Cecsa -- for a 227 year old vampire she is so innocent. Saber is one hot man and together they give off more than their share of sparks. There is a side story involving a magical being, magical cat and shape-shifting dolphin but it is not built out in La Vida Vampire.
La Vida Vampire is set in St. Augustine, Florida and you get a real flavor for the place from the descriptive settings by author Nancy Haddock. I really enjoyed this story and the characters. It is a nice light quick-paced read.(less)

An incubus and a special agent, tall, sexy and built – seems like the perfect man, until you realize he can kill you when he visits your dreams. Rory is a born shapeshifter and a master thief – a close guarded secret that no one outside her family is aware of. When Damon needs Rory’s help to rescue a stolen nuke neither one of them know what they are getting in to.
Rory is so drawn to Damon that she makes sex a condition of their agreement -- in other words, no sex, no help…Damon is happy to agree to that stipulation. Together they sneak into Kosovo into a world of prostitution, drugs, gangs and murder. Constantly looking over their shoulders they work to find and take the nuke before it is sold to the highest bidder.
Dreamwalker is an excellent story, suspenseful, action packed and sensual. Kathleen Dante manages to make two paranormal characters real – draws you into their lives and their quest. A complex plot with more than enough twists and turns to keep you breathless, Dreamwalker is a wonderful read. The suspense of the mission was more than enough to keep me involved but when you add in the titillating relationship which grows between Damon and Rory you are not going to want to put down the book until you’ve turned the last page. I hope we can visit with this couple again in the future.(less)

Qu...more I’ve read other stories by Ann Bruce and enjoyed them, and I had a feeling I would feel the same way about Before Dawn, and I wasn’t disappointed. Quick, hot and exciting this story covers all the bases.
Mercy has been having dreams, dark erotic ones but she always wakes up before the end. Feeling that something isn’t quite right she tries to ignore them. Until one night at work the stuff of her dreams is standing in front of her, drugs her and proceeds to sink his sharp fangs in deep.
Ryan has been watching Mercy and he knows what she is going through. Worried she will be number six for the vampire serial killer he’s chasing he doesn’t want to let her out of his sight. But he doesn’t count on falling for her.
Before Dawn is a smoldering heatfest of erotic dreams, sexy men and terrifying vampires and I loved every word. Besides who wouldn’t want a muscular hunk of a man trying to protect them from evil…all the while making you sweat just looking at him?! Grab Before Dawn but don’t forget an ice cold glass of water, you’re going need it! (less)

This story had me hooked from the very beginning and there were plenty of curve balls to keep me on the edge of my chair until the very end.
Dr. Emily Drake is a psychiatrist though her patients are not the usual confused and depressed, instead they are confused and depressed monsters. Emily has empathic ability and can “see” the monsters -- demons, vampires, shifters --for what they really are. The Monster Doctor, as she is known, helps these Others with their problems and keeps their secrets.
Police Detective Colin Gyth is an Other – a shifter – and has worked hard to keep his true self from the police department. Colin had suffered severe consequences in the past when regular humans found out what he was and he sure as hell doesn’t want to go through that again. But Colin has no idea what he’s in for when he is ordered by his captain to get Dr. Drake and bring her to his latest crime scene. Emily knows right away that Colin is a Shifter, the most dangerous of the monsters, “never trust anything born with two faces” has always been her motto.
Emily and Colin have to work together to catch the Other who is committing murder and keep the true nature of the killer from the public. The deeper they go the more dangerous it gets and the more Colin is drawn to Emily. Emily fights hard to keep her aloof demeanor but Colin breaks down her walls and eventually learns all of her secrets.
Hotter After Midnight is hot and Colin is so seductive you’ll wish he would take a bite out of you. You’ll be hungry for more of Colin and Emily long after you’ve turned the last page. I highly recommend this book it is witty, suspenseful and steamy enough to fog up your windows.(less)
