This is Wrath's story, oh wait a second it is Asail's (who is this again?) and maybe it could be IAm and his brother's also. This was probably my biggest dislike. So many story lines. It wasn't too hard to follow because each story grasped my attention and held my interest, but I felt there was only one ending and I didn't quite see how they all connected.
It's never hard to get back into the love of the BDB characters. There is such emotion in the words and I feel like I'm in the story (or maybe wished I was?) I don't have any problem with connecting to the characters. I can always paint a picture of what's going on. I love this in J.R. Ward.
**spoiler alert** **Spoilers** I absolutely loved this book. There were so many parts that I liked that I don't know where to start.
First, if you haven**spoiler alert** **Spoilers** I absolutely loved this book. There were so many parts that I liked that I don't know where to start.
First, if you haven't read any books in this series go back and start at #1 because you are missing out! Second, this was such a different love story because it was homosexual. I see that a lot of people could be nervous about reading such a story. I was one of them. I don't have a problem with homosexuals, it's the fact that J.R. Ward doesn't hold back during love scenes and I wasn't sure if I could really feel the emotion between the two individuals or if it just didn't sit well. I am not turned on by two men going at each other.
However... this love story, has been sitting on the back burner, pushed aside and collecting dust forever! The emotions were so strong between the two and both overcame such hard realizations that you couldn't help but fall in love with both of them and be happy that they ended up together. It's unique above all the others because of Quinn and Blay; not to mention the child that Layla is carrying for Blay. I love that it's different!
I've known some people that mentioned they couldn't get into the story because there was a lot going on with other story lines. This is true and I can understand why someone wouldn't be interested in the 2nd and 3rd plots. There is a reason for this though and it really sets up the next book, I think. It explains a few things and I liked reading about the other characters because they're not main characters, really, in the BDB.
The one thing that I maybe disliked about the book was that it felt like there was more of Quinn's journey than Blay's. Blay had a few moments reminiscing about loving Quinn and helping Quinn and the breakup with Saxton; not to mention that he has perfect parents who didn't have a problem accepting Blay coming out. Quinn, on the other hand, had more struggles to work through, I guess. I don't know, it didn't really bother me that much.
Overall, great book. Strong emotions felt throughout the story. New things and relationships popping up (that surprised me). ...more

I'm not sure if it was because I had a hard time connecting with the characters or what, but I did have a hard time concentrating on it. Overall, a pretty good story. I'm not sure if I'll remember it enough to recommend it to a friend though. ...more

I thought it was well-written in the sense that it made me almost switch sides. I really was seeing Sebastian's rather valid points and it made me think that he really had changed and was just lonely, trying to be good. I like how the story made me connect with the characters, even though I haven't read the latest story in a while. It didn't take long to catch up on what was happening.
My only complaint is that it seems as though there will be a new book in the series. I think that every story has to end eventually. Don't drag it out any further, just let it end....more

I almost quit early, I did. I just knew the relationship between "Daddy" and his "daughters" were just not right.
"We could have been mistaken for lovers instead of father and daughter." "Maybe it was just wishful thinking."
All I have to say to that is, ew.
But if you can get past the creepiness of the relationship between Daddy dearest and the girls, then it's not a bad story. The "sisters" of the group grow up to become seductresses only to bring home nourishment for their dear Daddy. The relationship between the main three sisters was pretty good and interesting.
It did lack a bit of climax throughout, though. There were a couple of times that I thought, "This is it!" However, your hopes are smashed every time. The ending was absolutely lame though. If the story would have ended before the last chapter and epilogue, it would have been much better and left me anxious to read the next. I might pursue the next story, maybe....more

I almost feel like a traitor since I love Cat & Bones so much. However, the main story line just didn't do it for me. I felt like the author was grasping for anything to write as a main story; Hunting a ghost for Fabian's friend who we've never even met before? Really? I didn't feel there was much of a connection between Cat & Bones as there was in the previous stories, with the exception of the love making the sky, which was pretty awesome.
What happened to the 2nd story line here? The last we know of Tate and the psycho man who has taken over is that he had hidden footage of Cat throwing a burning car off of her. This man obviously has something against Cat, but what? Who is he really and why is he now appearing? I'd rather that have been the main story line, but maybe Jeaniene will make the part of her next story. *Shrug*
It took me so long to read this book and this hadn't been a problem before. I just wasn't pulled in like I had been before with the previous stories. I did enjoy the bit of action during the last part though. I'm still a huge fan, but hopefully the author's next story will be better....more

A young girl who constantly contradicts herself on who to be with. The only reason I'm still reading this is because I really do want to know who the author is going to have Kelsey end up with.
I wish I could say the adventures were interesting. They were way over-the-top. Completely insane. I realize this is fiction, but come on. Not everything ends up the way we want them to....more

Boo, Kelsey runs away but finds magically that she has a huge condo, an expensive sports car, and all of her college courses + books, paid for. Yet, even though her immature decision of running away seems logical to her, She still pines for Ren. (Duh)
Of course, she finds approximately three men who also "fall in love" with her. Good grief. Then Ren decides to follow her back to her hometown and begs for her to "date" him as well as the others so she can make the right choice for her.
This all happens within the first 1/3 of the book. I feel like the author has always wanted to be this "Kelsey" in real life as she puts all her efforts into making this character beautiful and lovable and...perfect. Meh. I think if you want to create a wonderful and memorable character, you must show his/her flaws as well. I just don't see that happening....yet.
Then the book gets interesting after Ren is taken. She starts to get to know Kishan better. I like him. He has a past. He has had to make hard decisions and also is paying for his stupid past decisions. However, does he need to fall in love with Kelsey as well? I get the point now that I've finished the story, it just gets old.
The best part (and saddest) is the ending few chapters. THIS is the reason I gave the book 3 stars. It doesn't end like you totally expect. It wasn't a surprise to me that Ren loses his memories of Kelsey. We'll see where the next book takes us. Hopefully, Kelsey grows up a bit. ...more

There are other stories going on as well, but that's the way this author writes. I liked John Matthew's story with Xhex. He has everything to do with Tohr's story, so it's rather appropriate that he's involved so much. I wasn't sure what Layla had to do with things until later in the book and since the next book is Quinn and Blay's story, it makes even more sense so if you're a little bugged about different story lines playing out, just keep going it will all work out in the end.
I've read a few reviews about people not liking that Tohr ended up with No'One or "Autumn." I wonder why that is because you could feel the pain he suffered throughout; not only other's stories but this one. Why should he have to suffer so much and then be alone? Wouldn't you want him to be happy? He obviously loved Welsie. She was his life, but in life we move on. It may take time, but we all move on.
Great writing. Great story. I can't wait for the next one!...more
