A few very anxious moments while listening to The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo, led me to realize this about myself: if I had been reading a traditional book I would have peeked at the end.

So, confession time. Does the fact that you're listening to an audiobook prevent you from peeking?
Response: You bet! If this thing had pages I'd be checking out the last chapter as soon as the tension mounted.
