It is the gold standard Holly. I hope you enjoy it!

message 3: by Christina (last edited Nov 15, 2012 04:20PM) (new)

Christina I voted for Berdoll's Mr Darcy Takes A Wife because it was one of the first I discovered in JAFF and continues to remain a favorite with me in this ever expanding genre.

Meredith (Austenesque Reviews) We can only vote for one? ;) This is a serious challenge!

Jenni James Lol! MINE! Pride & Popularity... but maybe that's because I'm a kid at heart. :P I also love An Assembly Such as This

I have added Pride & Popularity. Be sure to let your readers know it is on the poll Jenni!

Meredith (Austenesque Reviews) wrote: "We can only vote for one? ;) This is a serious challenge!"

Indeed Meredith. I was challenged too, but went with one of the first P&P-inspired books that I read and motivated me to search for more. It was like literary crack, totally addictive.

Victoria I voted for Mr. Darcy's proposal, it was my favourite out of all the ones listed (that I've read). I was tempted to add one that wasn't listed but I couldn't pick just one! LOL!

Shannon Winslow "The Darcys of Pemberley" - I figure if Jenni can vote for her own book, so can I! (and it is the one closest to my heart, after all)

Shannon wrote: ""The Darcys of Pemberley" - I figure if Jenni can vote for her own book, so can I! (and it is the one closest to my heart, after all)"

Hey Shannon - if you didn't think it was great you wouldn't have written it. I love your confidence and self absurdness. Brava!

I am certain that Susan Mason-Milks will be quite flattered Victoria. Great choice!

Exactly! I wrote it to suit my passion, my taste and my ideas, so what's not to like?

Justjan Is it really 'fair' to vote if you haven't read them all? There were 2 I have not read yet but all 3 of my top favorites were on the list.

Lynn I love Becoming Elizabeth Darcy by Mary Lyndon Simonsen. It is a really intriguing time travel version.

Brenda Picking one was incredibly hard! So I picked one that is 'one of my favourites', I have so many!

Kate Maxwell I, too, picked An Assembly Such As This, as it was the book that sparked my interest in reading and searching out Austenesque books. I remember finding it in the library in a small town in Virginia and was ecstatic that Pride and Prejudice was continuing! :D

I agree there are so many that I really like.. there is a new one called Reflections by linda Gonschior that is very good also... I say we get more than one vote!

Maybe we can have rounds!

Krista great poll!

Kim Mod
omg way too difficult to choose 1.

Hi Justjan, we are voting for one favorite of what we have read. Considering how many P&P-inspired novels there are, it would be quite a feat to have read them all. I think you are totally safe in voting for the one that is the most memorable, or the one that you have reread several times. That is always a good sign. I hope this was helpful.

Cheers, LA

Thanks Lynn, I will add it to the list.

Sarapencil Yeah, voted for myself :) After all, Judge Darcy was a legend in his own mind!

June I haven't read enough to have a favorite!!!!!!!!! OMGosh!

Christina Rats! I just saw another favorite added-- The Trials of the Honorable F. Darcy. Truly a fave I always come back to...

Christina Sarapencil wrote: "Yeah, voted for myself :) After all, Judge Darcy was a legend in his own mind!"

A favorite that I have in the original format-- the self published and SIGNED form - the Sourcebooks form - and on kindle. If someone hasn't read it yet- def needs to be added to their must read mist!! Perfection!

LOL Lauren!! I 'm going to wait until closer to the end of the challenge..and READ all that I can, so I'll make an informed decision, so to speak!!

Renee Finley So hard to choose. I truly love them all. I voted for Rainy days because I love, love the cottage scene.

Robin Helm An Assembly Such as This was my introduction to Austen variations. It remains a favorite book - and not just of Austen variations. To me, it is the gold standard.

Hi Robin, the Fitzwilliam Darcy series appears to be a favorite for many Austenesque readers. Thanks for sharing.

Cheers, LA

Christina I also think An Arranged Marriage by Jan Hahn needs to be added to this list. That one is also one I continually go back to-- like comfort food.

Brenda Christina wrote: "I also think An Arranged Marriage by Jan Hahn needs to be added to this list. That one is also one I continually go back to-- like comfort food."

Same!! Love that book!

Victoria It definitely looks like I am going to have to go back and re-read the Pamela Aiden trilogy! I missed something the first time around! LOL!
