Therese Great list, now to choose!

Tom There are three that I would very much like. I read a couple of them years ago and would not mind reading any of them again.

Tracey, librarian on strike I feel the same! I think The Red House Mystery is the only one I actually own, though, so to cut down on spending for the moment ... :)

R-220 Sounds interesting, I should read them...

Cate hmmm, decisions, decisions. They all are looking good. Maybe we could use them in order of votes for the next 4 months, then we get to read them all :)

Pippa Ngaio Marsh is brilliant, so I'm tempted by that, but I'm also intrigued by the A A Milne one. Didn't know he'd written anything like this! Christianna Brand I don't know at all. I'd be happy with any, so I won't vote. :)

Evelyn The Red House Mystery, which is in the lead at this time, has been described in reviews as written for readers at High School level. It's slow, wordy, with a thin plot. The story drags and is repetitive with a lot of author intrusion. So I voted for A Man Lay Dead by Ngaio Marsh.

Me too! I just recently mooched a copy.

Yvonne Williams how about Case Histories as BOTM? I have heard good things about the book. Yvonne williams

Susan Process of elimination: I voted for Red House and checked out the ebook from the library, then saw the previous comments that it's HS reading level (blah), so I checked out the Atkinson book instead, and I think I read it and did not like it. I know I read and liked Ngaio Marsh's book, but it's not available at the library. Sooooo...I discovered Green for Danger is available as a DVD from the library, even though the book is not. Changed my vote!
So folks who are trying to save $$ (like me) please check what your public library has available.

Candace If the Milne book is YA that explains why the version I'm looking at, on here, is only 190 pages.

Carol had no idea that Milne every wrote a mystery!

Susan I guess I "jumped the gun" -- I picked up the Green for Danger DVD from the library and watched the movie! I liked it...it's like a locked room mystery, in that the list of suspects is very short. The Scotland Yard detective is --not at all-- like a Richard Jury type of character . It is a black-and-white movie but unlike many was shot with excellent lighting, so the scenes are all very clear. I recommend it. Will check back to see if it is selected as the BOTM - so we can discuss.
