We will do space soon if it isn't picked, I promise :D
Space would be cool and its what I voted for but it's looking like Fantasy may win out. all good choices IMHO.
The more straight fantasy books tend to have less sex in them too so I guess we'll deal with that haha.
I voted urban paranormal before I remembered you guys mentioning the space ones being funnily bad...
To be honest, a large part of my interest in the space route is because I'm still sad about my Mass Effect 3 play-through; I figure some space smut might diminish that little Shepard-shaped cloud hanging over my head. Ye olden times is currently in the lead, and it does admittedly sound fun...
I kinda prefer ye olden times just cause i think they're more interestingly written most of the time in my experience.

I really expected more romance from that scene, I was sad it was like he was my brother not my loverrrrrr
Bell wrote: "I kinda prefer ye olden times just cause i think they're more interestingly written most of the time in my experience."Vaginal Fantasy is actually my first experience with reading romance, so I've yet to experience genres other than the steampunk flavor we had with Iron Duke (which I'm only halfway through... I need to get the jump on it before May, but college graduation is just three weeks away and I'm trying to multitask!) I imagine fantasy would make for an awesome romance genre, though.

It was incredibly sad!

Whatever. So lame.
Space would be great, but I have no idea what a Sci-fi(Space) Vaginal fantasy book would even be like. But that is one of the main reasons I watch VagFan, exposure to new story genres. That and the alcohol fueled hilarity. :)P.S. Why Space only? So many other great Sci-fi genres out there..

Speaking of Space/sci-fi/steampunk/vaginal fantasy butnotquite a book... PLEASE PLEASE go see my friends amazing web comic. She's uber talented! PLUS the main chatacter is a redhead!!! http://www.redmoonrising.org
If, somehow, Urban paranormal somehow wins I would suggest Patricia Briggs Alpha and Omega series. Not as heavy on the sex as say Lynsay Sands' Argenau series (another good one with a unique twist on vampires) but still excellent.
I had to google "sexy sci-fi", that's how far outside my lane I am with this. Came up with some great suggestions from 'io9' which I should have checked first anyways.http://io9.com/5216703/10-authors-who...

I think something by Heinlein would be a good bet; he's highly influential, wrote about sex often, and reportedly was stoned out his mind when he came up with a lot of his ideas. Should make for good conversation.
I suggests Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. It contains both a great romance and a lot of girls with katana swords. Since really near to the original novel by Jane Austen, it’s also somehow a classic …It may lack explicit sex, but did i mentioned Mr. Darcy and a lot of Zombies? ;)
Satyr wrote: "I suggests Pride and Prejudice and Zombies. It contains both a great romance and a lot of girls with katana swords. Tracey wrote: "If, somehow, Urban paranormal somehow wins I would suggest Patricia Briggs Alpha and Omega series. Not as heavy on the sex as say Lynsay Sands' Argenau series (another good one with a unique twist..."I do love Patricia Briggs. :)
Emma wrote: "Satyr wrote: "really? I was surprised how little of the text was actually changed … and that evrything’s still (kind of) consistant. And i liked the small little changes not realated to the Zombyfication, like that Mrs. Garndner’s less perfect (she cheats on her husband) or Mr. Darcy got a little bit waggish …
But i’m not really objective with PaP … one has to like the “Austen part” and style, the Zombies storyline alone isn’t self-supporting.

hehe, Don't get me wrong Satyr, I'm an English lit grad. Read a lot of Victorian classics, including Austen and I'm also a HUGE zombie fan. I guess by the time I got round to reading it I had high expectations. Perhaps I shouldn't have given up a third of the way through it.
Can the next book not be a murder mystery please?.. =/ 3 in a row has been alright... But I want a change.

That or Richelle Mead's Gerogina Kincaid series (the protagonist is a succubus! Not your typical vampire/werewolf scenario).
Wow this is a crazy close poll! (69, 69, and 62 currently). Good thing I would be pretty happy with any of them, heh. I'll be honest though, when I think "space romance" my mind jumps to tentacle monsters, and that's frightening.

Yeah I agree, we need space Romance. If not.... at least Sci-fi.
@Tracey @Monica I'm on the Patricia Briggs bandwagon too. Mercede's Thompson is very independent, but calls in friends when things get rough. I like that! Heard these books called werewolf protection romance. However, I voted Sci-Fi for this month. Curious to see what gets recommended.
I'm looking through my James P. Hogan novels - I think one had romance in it. Enough to raise my pulse and make me blush. Unfortunately I doubt it had a female protagonist and that is a definite requirement for VF reading. :)

Alice Bradly Sheldon's work is not a bad idea. Good stuff on that io9 list.
Just a recommendation for fantasy but how about The Cloud Roads by Martha Wells? It has some great sexual tension in it and is an addictive fantasy to read.
I recently read this last year and was hooked on the character development and plot line that I was unable to put the book down. It is about a race of Raksura, dragon like species that lives in hive-like community. Centers around a male character who was orphaned and then finds himself trying to find his place. Sorry, really bad description but it really is good.
Sci-fi and fantasy are neck and neck right now! But space romance has to get my vote! I mean, space AND aliens AND planets AND romance? What could be better than that?
Charlene Harris's Deadlocked is out in May, Sherrilyn Kenyon has two new ones out and LKH has one out then aswell, so many to choose from May is a good month for UF releases.x
Surely fantasy will have mead and wenches? Vote'd! Not that I mind too much if there's aliens and space, but can anyone clarify, will it be humanoid exclusive or will we be straying into Cthullu territory - with tentacles and other frightening appendages?
I can't think of anything I've read that would fall solidly in the vaginal sci-fi genre but now I have to try it. I suppose this means I'm sci-curious.
Felicia wrote: "The more straight fantasy books tend to have less sex in them too so I guess we'll deal with that haha."It's 900 pages long, so perhaps not a good choice for the club, but Kushiel's Dart is the exception to the "less sex in fantasy" rule.
Another option could be The Hundred Thousand Kingdoms.
Caley wrote: "Felicia wrote: "The more straight fantasy books tend to have less sex in them too so I guess we'll deal with that haha."Hmmm not sure if I can deal... what's the point of reading? ... T^T... jk"
I know, right!
A great Urban Paranormal novel would be one of Tanya Huff's Smoke novels (Smoke and Shadows, Smoke and Mirrors, Smoke and Ashes). Does a gay production assistant and an everything-sexual vampire count as vaginal fantasy?
Sci-Fi with Time Travel! Time Travel!!!GOOD Time Travel!!!
... Or, I'll take parallel dimensions, too. :D
EDIT: Oooh! Or a dystopian future!
My second choice is Urban Paranormal.

Hahaha! Nice!
I'm all for some zero-gravity romancing, so I picked Sci-fi.I'm relatively new to romance as a whole, so I'm not too picky about the book choice other than I'd prefer it be "non-rapey" and there must be tantalizing naughty scenes :)
