1181786 Amy, Any link I clicked doesn't lead me to a view of the poems, only the vote result. I'm afraid that by clicking on the link to each of the first two names in the email added a vote for them when I didn't intend that. I still can't find how to see the poems. Help?

message 2: by LG (new)

1323923 Same problem here.

message 3: by Ami (new)

1210549 I can't seem to get to the poems to read/vote...am I doing something wrong?

message 4: by Calli (new)

1302236 click where Amy writes -please click here for selected poems (see above) ...then read through the poems and at the bottom of the page click where it says click if you like, it will then take you to the list with each poem title highlighted in the color gray. Click on the title of the poem you are voting for!

It worked for me!

46160 I finally figured it out, and voted. But I don't seem to be able to vote for two, just for one. Is that correct?

message 6: by Anny (new)

137778 My fault, I did not really want to vote for Andrew Lundwall, I just wanted to enter and read the poem. That is how I voted him. By this I do not want to say that his poem is not good, just that there are also other excellent poems in this selection.
Next time I will know better. Sorry.

699266 I voted accidentally for the first poem "Unscrew the Moon."
Once I figured out how to get to the text of the poems, I would have voted for "Gender Question #2..."
This reminds me of High School English when, year after year, the teacher could never figure out how to work the VCR.

135295 At the bottom of the poll results on the left, you have the option to "change your vote"!

1580090 I did exactly what Mystical Wind said to do in Message 4 above, but it didn't work for me, either -- just told me I had already voted. The poem I MEANT to vote for was Jennifer Perrine's. It rocked.

message 10: by Alien (new)

13666 Unscrew the moon should no win simply because it is first in the list. Several people are accidentally voting for this poem by clicking on it in order to try and read the poems. This set-up is not fair and just does not work. I hope it will be changed soon. If I had submitted a poem and it was beaten by another poem just because it was first in the list then I would not be a happy camper.

56368 luckily, i clicked on the one i like the most, but it did take me awhile to figure out. love love love landing under water!

13666 Note that, as Amy has already mentioned, you can CHANGE your vote. Just click where it says change your vote at the bottom of the poll.

5 Hi Everyone,
The polls feature is new for Goodreads and we are trying to improve it to make it easier for all of you. Right now, there are a few kinks. I'm bugging the engineering group to get on this, so please let me know what is working and what is not working for you guys. Also, if you have problems, you can post it in the Goodreads Feedback group, which Otis and Michael monitor regularly.
Apart from that, I'm really excited about the poetry submissions.
All the best,
Elizabeth
P.S. We are also talking about randomizing the different poll choices so that they will appear in a different order for different users. It is on the to-do list.

739402 I loved it too! That one's a talent, you can tell. Great craft + feeling + imagination. Wow! Hope she wins!

message 15: by Tara (new)

739402 I'm referring to Jennifer Perrine :P :)

message 19: by Christine (new)

1291028 It was hard to choose two top poems as they are all very good poems. Best of luck to everyone!!

message 20: by Steve (new)

1254714 Amy, I thought we had to vote for two? Anyway, I liked the Gatza poem, and the "untitled" (which is saying something, since I generally dislike "untitled" titles). Only my vote for the Gatza poem seemed to have registered. Anyway, good luck on this. There are a number of fine poems to choose from.
