Let the October Goodreads Fantasy Search continue! The top 6 will move on to the second round of voting. So vote for your favorite.
I want to thank everyone who took part in the nomination process.
If you are a goodreads author and you are able to offer copies to those in our membership personally feel free to let us know, and feel free to vote for yourself.
This should go without saying but cheating will not be tolerated. I know everyone will behave themselves with this poll. Have fun and enjoy yourself!
Prophecy of the Flame is an awesome book that draws you in right away. I'd love to get a chance to discuss it with the author!
Laura Ann Gilman is a great speaker (and a nifty person). I've read her Retriever series. She might well be persuaded to involve herself.
I've read Inda before and it was pretty good, but I'm going vote for All the Windwracked Stars cause I like the title.
Both Diane Duane and Elizabeth Bear were nominated for the Sci-fi goodreads author. They have agreed to participate (as well as a ton of those authors) such as Jon Sprunk, Lady Ellen Sherwood Smith, Elizabeth C Mock, David Burton, Will Burt, Lynn Hardy, Wendy Parker. I'll make a list of confirmed authors to participate.
For the Oct GoodReads Author, I'm a little concerned with Diane Duane's The Door Into Fire. The reviews seem great, but from a cursory check, it look like it's out of print, and as an ebook, it's not on Kindle but it is available on Nook. Getting a copy seems difficult.
Alvin, 'door into fire' is available on the authors website for $3, in several formats:http://www.dianeduane.com/The-Door-Into-...
Just to let you know, Shatter, is now available at smashwords.com and Barnes & Noble in ebook format for free and for the Kindle for $2.99. So there are a lot of really affordable options for getting a hold of it beyond just the paperback. If you're wondering what the book is about, here's the book trailer: http://www.goodreads.com/videos/show/999...
Thanks for considering my book!
