What Book Shall We Read in August?
I have chosen books that are getting a lot of attention, or whose authors have other Newbery awards, and were published in March and April. My hope is that a lot of libraries might have them in their shelves by now. Please let me know if you think a book should be added to the list.

I agree, in fact Marcelo is my favorite book of the year so far - but not a Newbery contender as it is not age appropriate! In fact most of the people I have reccommended the book to are adults (and the love it!) It is a book a think everyone should read, but not in the context of Mock Newbery (there are so many others to consider.)
