message 2: by Spencer (new)

Spencer G i dont like the twighlight series

message 3: by Megan (new)

Megan House of night definitly, the last book was painful to read.

message 4: by Shauna (new)

Shauna Tyndall Megan wrote: "House of night definitly, the last book was painful to read."

It was cringe worthy.

message 5: by Abdal (new)

Abdal I think this list is pretty spot on - apart from The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness and the "Gone" series by Michael Grant - because I love those books. Again, good list: here was me thinking that I was just too picky with my reading material :D

message 6: by CeJayCe (new)

CeJayCe Wondrous Strange and Prophecy of the Sisters? I'm shocked.

message 7: by Shauna (new)

Shauna Tyndall House of Night has gotten pretty bad of late. The first, say, three were decent, but it ran out of steam pretty quickly. The last one was terrible.

message 8: by Mandie (new)

Mandie I gave up on Evermore because it was terrible and very similar to Twilight only worse. I also gave up on Fragile Eternity. I read the first two, but the third was just boring. I didn't even really care what happened.

message 9: by CeJayCe (new)

CeJayCe I honestly don't even remember what Fragile Eternity was about. I remeber the basic plot of all the others, but that one escapes me...

And Evermore...well, it just doesn't seem like Ever's going to get any smarter.

message 10: by Gabby (new)

Gabby house of night is definitely a big disappointment.

Incomplete-sentence Sorry but is there anything that is not on this list?!

message 12: by Jess (new)

Jess Fallen had one of the weakest females in it since Twilight, both very painful to read....

message 13: by Derya (last edited Dec 15, 2010 12:03AM) (new)

Derya Twilight, without a doubt!

message 14: by Nicole (new)

Nicole J The person who made this list doesn't have a brain.Because most of this book I have read and I have finished them without any problem. I'm surprised that Thirst is not here because I couldn't passed the first chapter. And Vampire Academy should not be here because people LOVE theses books. This list is very depressing.

message 15: by Susanna - Censored by GoodReads (last edited Dec 16, 2010 12:00PM) (new)

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads Well, you could vote for the books you think belong on it. Up at the top. Anyone can vote on these lists. It looks like over 200 people have voted on this one.

message 16: by Lucille (new)

Lucille Wow, I was reading through this list and thinking, I agree with almost everything on this list! especially the House of Night. I was surprised by Tomorrow When The War Began, but it was only one person that voted for it, so I suppose that i can accept that there is one person that didn't love and adore that series :P

Marloreadsit_xx Shauna wrote: "Megan wrote: "House of night definitly, the last book was painful to read."

i totally agree .

message 18: by [deleted user] (new)

City of ashes. really?

Devan, Sarcasm Expert Evermore- Ever just got dumber and dumber

House of Night- The first one made me mildly cringe, and I tried to read the second but I completely questioned the main character so I quit a few chapters

Uglies- This one didn't have strong enough writing and the direction of where the character was going made me quit

Wicked Lovely- The first was alright, but the second lost focus of the main character, and her story.

Mortal Instruments- I can understand why people voted for this even thought I like this series. If the reader persisted enough to read the third one they would appreciate more. Also Simon was becoming annoying.

message 20: by Ciera (new)

Ciera I agree. Some of these books are actually really good. But like other people also said, there are some disappointment up there.

message 21: by Miranda (new)

Miranda Some of these series I really liked.
1. Harry Potter

Some were ok.
1. Uglies

Lots started great but failed/I lost interest as they went on.
1. The Vampire Academy
2. Hunger Games (1st was AMAZING)
3. House of Night (Kind of, I liked them as a really light reading after I finished uninteresting school books. But they got so bad.)
4. Gemma Doyle (LOVED the first one)

And others were horrible.
1. Evermore
2. Trublood
3. Twilight

Wow Im surprised you didnt like vampire academy. Its a really good book it gives you a pretty damn good idea of the scenario,i think the dialog is great, I mean its a perfect series to read.

message 23: by Sarah (last edited Mar 27, 2011 06:13PM) (new)

Sarah You misunderstood little bastards !
You people are just mentally challenged illiterate freaks who don`t know what the term 'Good Literature' means. :/

Almost every single one of these books are amazing !
1) Mortal Instruments
2) The Immortals
3) Fallen Series
4) Caster Chronicles
5) Wake Trilogy
6) Incarceron
7) Hunger Games
8) Twilight
9) And, lastly, HUSH HUSH.
That book was stunningly flawless and amazing.
I cringed when I saw it on here. >.>
And House of Night ? Well, yeah, it was pretty pathetic. I liked the first [just liked] and I read the second, but after that I just couldn`t take it anymore. House of Night, Harry Potter, and Vampire Academy are the only books on this list that would make any remote sense.

message 24: by Miranda (new)

Miranda I loved the first 2, I think. But I couldn't go on after that. I just lost interest.

message 25: by Susan (new)

Susan Devan, Sarcasm Expert wrote: "Evermore- Ever just got dumber and dumber

agreed ...Stopped reading it in the middle of the third book... never picked it up again & will not be buying anymore!

message 26: by Dani (new)

Dani Harry Potter?! Twilight?! Give 'em a chance, people!

Found by Margagret Peterson Haddix was very good and intriguing, but Sent was awful! 15th century England wasn't the most entertaining setting for a novel.

I didn't see the City of Ember on this list, which surprised me. I read it and the next book, The People of Sparks, hoping things would get better...they didn't.

Susanna - Censored by GoodReads You could add them.

message 28: by Devina (new)

Devina Harry Potter shouldn't have been here!I loved every one the HP books!

Incomplete-sentence The million dollar question is:Have ever finished a series?!

Incomplete-sentence Hah,funny! I gave up on so many of these too!

message 31: by Christina (last edited Jun 21, 2011 01:36PM) (new)

Christina I love the list, however, some these books I like but, y'know, people have different opinions. :)

message 32: by Anastasia (new)

Anastasia i agree with some of this but there are a lot of good books on this list that you should really give a chance. it almost seems like everything is on this list because it's pretty big. did you actually finish any of these books?

message 33: by Anastasia (new)

Anastasia Sarah wrote: "You misunderstood little bastards !

i agree with almost all of this but i liked the Vampire Academy.

message 34: by Lauren (new)

Lauren every single book on this list is that almostfantasy sub-genre! All vampires and demons and witches and who-knows-what. What do they call those? Paranormal romance? i can only stomach one series like that, and i haven't even read the second one.

message 35: by Ellie (new)

Ellie Shauna wrote: "Megan wrote: "House of night definitly, the last book was painful to read."

Totally. I didn't even make it that far, I'll admit. I got to Chosen and was like, "Wait...why am I reading this ____?"

message 36: by Ellie (new)

Ellie Devina wrote: "Harry Potter shouldn't have been here!I loved every one the HP books!"

I know, right?????? :O

message 37: by Emily (new)

Emily People clearly have no imagination. Some I understand, others I do not.

Harry Potter? Really? No. I mean it. Really? Why do people hate Harry Potter?

The Mortal Instruments are an obsession for me. I LOVE THOSE BOOKS. Enough to possibly want a rune tattoo.

Shiver, and its whole trilogy, is fantastic and original! Maggie Stiefvater's style is unique and lovely.

I like the Wicked Lovely books. Sure, I have to battle through the pages sometimes, but they are worth it.

I gave up looking through this because I disagree with many. Though I do agree on quite a few (-cough, Twilight and Fallen, cough-)

message 38: by Lucille (last edited Aug 12, 2011 07:26PM) (new)

Lucille wow. I just went back through this listand of the top 99, i voted for 30. i didn't realize that there were so many bad series out there that I just had enough of and couldn't continue with.
it would be interesting to note how far people got with each series. for example, I gave up Fallen after the first book, but for some reason, I went through at least five House Of Night books before I came to my senses and realized that it wasn't getting any better.

lol I made it to about the fourth book, maybe, and thought the same exact thing. "why am I reading this?"

message 40: by Belladonna (new)

Belladonna I gave up on Blue Bloods too.

message 41: by JD (new)

JD Switz I added Lover Eternal, from the Black Dagger Brotherhood series. I just can't finish it. Though I love the Brotherhood Boys, I can't stand that the author loses focus of the story and delves off into her own wonderland while I'm going, "WTF just happened?"

message 42: by M/Ðɑηηɑ (new)

M/Ðɑηηɑ Wow, I am really not a consatant reader. I have given up some serieses. But trust me, it all has a reason. Some, espically the ones who belong to the current YA-PNR age of juicy, stupid, annoying, bad written, slow moving, worst heroines/heros books - I just could not keep up. And now I am just looking for the one ya paranormal (no romance, as much as I'd find) that could be considered good!

message 43: by Makenzie (new)

Makenzie i Don't think i could ever give up on "Need" or "Harry Potter" i'm addicted

message 44: by Lucia (new)

Lucia Belakova The Hunger Games? Harry freakin' Potter?! *Tripple gasp*

message 45: by Ciera (new)

Ciera Is it really the books fault if you can't stick out long books? I agree with Lucia about the Hunger Games and Harry Potter, also I loved the Mortal Instruments. Some may be a little long but they are amazing. Whatever everybody has their own oppinions...

message 46: by Chloe (new)

Chloe (Nerdy Girl) Harry Potter! are u kidding me!!! J.K Rowling is a amazing writer and my life has been completely different since reading Harry Potter! shame on u :(

message 50: by Talyn (last edited May 16, 2012 01:41PM) (new)

Talyn After book six of te Pendragon series I quit. I tried reading #7 and I was bored as hell, plus I hated how Pendragon was so "I'm the good guy and Saint Dane is the bad guy." Who cares if he destroyed all these worlds? They were a lost cause anyways, and you actually f*cked many times to help it accelerate in the process, Bobby. Plus, 6 was as good as it was ever going to get.
