Just so you know, Personal Demons (while freaking awesome) comes out in Sept 2010. I also added a few more including my own. Hope that's okay!
Caroline, you need to add your book into the goodreads database and then go into vote and type your title in and vote for it. That's what I had to do to get With A Name Like Love on the list. Good Luck...and, hooray to us for being on GoodReads!!
Hey Kristi! Thanks for including Personal Demons, but it's actually a September 2010 release. It's already on your 2010 list (#9) so you can remove it from this one. Also, your ARC is in the mail =)

I'm having trouble getting my book on the list too. I put it in the data base and voted for it (felt pretty egotistical doing that!), but it didn't go onto the list.
Great list--it's wonderful to see all the Elevensies together in one bookshelf. Thanks for putting this together Kristi!
The Returning by Christine Hinwood was originally published in 2009. Does it count as a 2011 Debut if it is being republished/relaunched?
Miss Clark wrote: "The Returning by Christine Hinwood was originally published in 2009. Does it count as a 2011 Debut if it is being republished/relaunched?"The Returning is Christine's US debut. The original title Bloodflower was released in Australia. So it would not be a debut for Aus.

Izabela wrote: "I don't think that "10 Miles From Normal" by Frances O'Roark Dowell is a debut author book, since she seems to have written quite a lot of other novels ... it could be an US debut, though, I have n..."It is Frances's YA debut.
Izabela wrote: "Ah, okay, thanks for clearing that up :)I was a bit confused, since it seemed she had several YA / MG books: http://www.goodreads.com/author/list/..."
Hmm... not sure? I just know that the summary on the publisher's site says " Frances O’Roark Dowell’s fierce humor and keen eye make her YA debut literary and wise."
Gabrielle wrote: "Strange, someone put Glimmerglass on the list. Thanks for the list by the way!"Yes... for some reason titles get added that aren't 2011 debuts, even though I mention do NOT do it..... it gets rather tiresome.
I try to delete them once I see them posted, but I don't check the list daily.
Єmiℓy wrote: "Despite the title, most of these books are YA and hardly any are middle grade/children's."Well if you know of any 2011 debut Middle grade novels feel free to add them. Although I don't think middle grade and children's are interchangeable categories.
This list is awesome! Thank you Kristi for getting it set up! Looks like there will be bunches of awesome books coming out in 2011!
I didn't happen to see Darkness Becomes Her by Kelley Keaton on this list. I am pretty sure it is her YA debut.
Gabrielle (nomes) wrote: "I just realized that an Apocalypsie is on this list."The Apocalypsies have adopted some of the late 2011 debuters who missed the cutoff to join the Elevensies, so maybe the author you're seeing is one of those. (We couldn't stand to see them out there all alone in the storm!) Also, some people were originally scheduled to be 2012 debuts but were bumped back. We're keeping them on as harbingers of the Apocalypse.
Cassidy Jones and the Secret Formula is a great read for middle schoolers and young adults! Take a look and you will thank me! Keep reading!
This is a great list. We haven't read some of these books yet, but hopefully we'll get them through YALSA Galley soon. A bunch of them sound extremely interesting.
Deleted Never Eighteen by Megan Bostic since the release date has been pushed back to January of 2012.
I deleted Chime since it isn't Franny Billingsley's debut novel---Well Wished was her debut way back in 1997.
Deleted The Pledge as The Body Finder was Kimberly Derting's debut in 2010.And also Tell Me A Secret because it was Holly Cupala's 2010 debut.
Just deleted Linger, as it is obviously not a debut - and added Dark Inside because it is a 2011 debut and it looks really good!
Even though I can't wait for Crossed by Ally Condie it's not a debut novel since it's the sequal to Matched, I think you might have put it on there by mistake :)
Kristi (The Story Siren) wrote: "Thanks for keeping this updated Lora!"You're welcome! This is a great list and I'm just trying to help keep it correct. :)
OK, I deleted The Throne of Fire, Catching Fire, and Forever, all of which are obviously not debuts.
April, you are correct - Crossed isn't a debut. However, if by "I think you might have put it on there by mistake", you're meaning Kristi, then no. Kristi didn't add it. The only way to add books to this list or any other list is by voting for them, and, April, you - along with four other people - voted for Crossed.
You also voted for Between Here and Forever and Delirium - both of which aren't debuts. Elizabeth Scott has written many young adult books before Between Here and Forever, and Before I Fall was Lauren Oliver's debut in 2010, making Delirium her second novel. :)
I deleted all of the aforesaid titles as well as a deluge of foreign titles by an author named Kuntowijoyo, as all of his works are for adults and not released in 2011, making all of them incorrect for this list.
Kristi, I added The Apothecary by Maile Meloy because if you go on the Q&A page on the author's website, she says on question #7 that The Apothecary is her "first novel for kids" - and I've checked around and it seems that she's only written collections of short stories for adults until The Apothecary, so it should be a 2011 middle grade debut. :)
