Fun list! Although I just want to mention that SOME of these series were written LONG before Harry Potter. :) So Harry Potter fans should definitely check them out if they haven't yet. There was fantasy before Harry Potter. :) I'm just saying.
Ok, I added the Dark Lord of Derkholm, but there's only two in that series. Still, it is so good that you really have to check it out.

lol, yeah, i was actually shocked to see the pawn of prophecy up there. i thought people had forgoten this great series existed!
(sniff) i will always be a harry potter lover, no matter what they say.Oh,by the way, this a sucha cool list. luv it! and to all you harry potter fans out there, never stop liking that series.
i know! i still adore harry potter!!! but this is good for when youve finished HP and need a new book/series to read...
i agree with you, jen! as a true hp lover, i sometimes i wish i could be a character of the book, although,............................... their life seems a little dangerous though. oh! are we talking about the list????!!! i was thinking about hp! but as for that list, just gotta luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuv it! uhem! back to daydreaming.................................................
Twilight is romance, period. There is no fantastastic world building or in-depth characters. It shouldn't be on the list.
Ditto, Twilight is romance. Should so not be in this list. But really, Harry Potter was one of the best books I've ever read. Twilight just cannot compete. Sure, it was okay...but it was still romance.

I love the Percy Jackson series!!! But romance novels shouldn't be on the list. It just doesn't fit.
lets not all grumble at twilight now...although Stephenie Meyer kind of deserves it...Twilight (the first book) was OK, but she dragged it on and made it totally unappealing and nobody or nothing ever changes. I hate it.

Yeah. She should have left it as the first one.
I LOVE HARRY POTTER! At first I thought it was an semi-OK thing, but when you reread it...I mean, that is eons beyond what I could ever do! It is genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
one thing that drives me crazy is when people say they dislike books when they haven't even read them. I can fairly judge twilight because I've read the series.
Well, if you haven't read the book just say something like, "No opinion." And then you are good. Sometimes you can guess if the type is so obvious (like Wake...I got to chapter four and it was like SO many other books...) that you can't finish it. Some people are good at that, but generally, it is a no-no.

I think that books that are just spin-offs of a popular series (Harry Potter often has a whole bunch of little books that are almost plagiarizing it...) are kind of stupid too.Anyways, I am reading "Parade of Shadows" by Whelan. It is pretty awesome so far. Except very obvious romance...but what is romance, really, if it isn't obvious.
Twighlight is extremley dull and poorley written. Though you must give Stephanie Meyers credit for making such a low quality book that almost everyone seems to like.
She is good at capturing the attention of many readers because the story line is cliche and, overall, addicting. I couldn't agree more, the writing is terrible.
