Adam Floridia Yay, some people voted on my list!

message 2: by Stacy (new)

Stacy Burke This list doesn't correspond with how Vonnegut rated his own books in Chapter 18 of Palm Sunday:

* Player Piano: B
* The Sirens of Titan: A
* Mother Night: A
* Cat's Cradle: A-plus
* God Bless You, Mr. Rosewater: A
* Slaughterhouse-Five: A-plus
* Welcome to the Monkey House: B-minus
* Happy Birthday, Wanda June: D
* Breakfast of Champions: C
* Slapstick: D
* Jailbird: A
* Palm Sunday: C

Instead it probably reflects which books the voters have actually read. And it's too bad that people are actually reading Slapstick, which should be removed from circulation, while the great socialist novel Jailbird is set aside.

Christopher Howard Add Look at the Birdie to this list so I can rate it an A+++ .. I loved that collection.

Sentimental Surrealist I don't know, I found Slapstick quite clever and at the same point quite touching. Ended up devouring it in a single sitting, so engrossed was I by Vonnegut's narrator. Bit of a forgotten classic, if you ask me.
