I totally agree with Caite!!! All the Twilight books you have to, have to, have to read!!! They are amazing! Good job Stephanie Meyers!
Twilight is not the worst book I have ever read and the first one in the best out of the series but in my opinoin not a must read. If your looking for a book that potrays women as always dependant on men and weak without them then twilight is a GREAT book for you. Stephanie Myer has a good story but she fills her story up with all the emotions going on with Bella the main character when she is or without her Edwardo (aka edward).
If you want to read a book that is susposedly suspose to make fun of twilight then the book SUCK IT UP is for you. I personally haven't read it but I hear it is funny.
Twilight is good, but i should NOR be oin this list. the fist 300 pages are EXTREMELY boring!!! The only good parts are the beaseball scene and the mirror room. the hunger games is so good!!! i could not put this book down. it is poopin amazing!!! it should be number one not twilight. and new moon is sooo boring. In ahtchet you know that he is going to get off the place, so you can really put it down.however, with the hunger games, you dot know who will die next, and you dont know if peeta or katniss will die!!!! everybody should read it.
i think that people who voted on twilight are just soooo obsessed with it that if they see it in any list, they will vote for it. It is riduculous! good? yes. I could never put it down? heck no!!! i also think that double identity, running uot of time, found, and the last olympian should be on here. im gonna add them.
Twilight is definitely not a must read book (In my opinion). Totally ripped off Buffy!!!! And your right about New Moon - It was just moping for like 30000000 pages. It's like she can't live if Edward's not there.I thought the Dark Materials trilogy was REALLY good =D I read them in like 2 days. And The Giver =D
I totally agree with Adam and Sofia about the whole Twilight saga, the whole series has their good parts but overall it too long and the story is over worked. I haven't yet read the Hunger Games though heard from lots that it is good. So I can't place my opinoin on the book yet, but I have read the Giver and thought that it was a waist of my time. At times I thought the story was good but overall I didn't a like it and hated the ending

"Jerk California", "The House of the Scorpion" and "Hunger Games" are like the best books ever!Read them, everyone!
The Twilight series are great books, but I certainly think there are other books that are way better.
The Books I Couldn't Put Down (A Brief History):I started reading Harry Potter in 2000 -- I started with the fourth book, go figure -- but, once I was "in the fandom" in 2003, I REALLY COULDN'T PUT DOWN THESE BOOKS (I marathoned Order of the Phoenix in two days; Half-Blood Prince in about a day; and Deathly Hallows in about a day as well). Once HP hooks you, it doesn't let you go. :P
The same with the Twilight books (though on a lesser scale). I came across TWI went it had just come out in paperback in 2006 -- and the back really drew me in (NOTE: At the time, I did not care for horror, so of course I knew very little about vampires beyond Dracula). I almost didn't buy it, but then I did -- and I don't regret it, even though the series has its hoarde of critics (for good reason, I suppose, since Bella is a heroine who grates a bit on the nerves at times). I finished the book early the next morning (I didn't get any sleep that night, obviously, ha), and I was hankering for the next. A week later, I got it and devoured it. The same happened with Eclipse and Breaking Dawn when they came out. (And so it goes with books that really catch me in their webs of plot and character. XD)
(Stephenie Meyer's The Host was received by me in the same way, as you might expect -- though I still don't care much for sci-fi.)
The Mortal Instruments trilogy . . . well, the first one didn't "grab" me, but the second two did (I marathoned both books in March 2009 over the course of three days XD). It's a series I dearly cherish now (and I'm sure I'll be ready to eat up The Clockwork Angel later this year).
The Hunger Games books are my latest obsession (since it's only been about two months since I started reading them) -- and I have to admit that I bought the second even though I was only halfway through the first. :P I just wanted there to be NO GAP between reading the first and the second (though now I'm regretting that, what with the final book being six months away from release). These books grab you in a lock and keep you in their prison . . . in a very good way, of course. :)
(On a lesser note, Vampire Academy is a noteworthy mention since -- when I picked it up on a whim -- I didn't know anything about it. I just picked up and read, and -- boy, was it different from any vampire books I had read before. Any ideas I had in my head from reading Twilight were blown out of the water. This book series is like an addiction, truly -- though, again, a very good one. ;) )
(On a final note, Melissa Marr's Ink Exchange was one book I couldn't put down either. While Wicked Lovely and its follow-up Fragile Eternity didn't grip me in the same way, INK was just one of those "wow" books. It was really superb in a way that I didn't find in WL or FE. I'm hoping I will get the same effect when Radiant Shadows comes out.)
the entire twilight series is addicting. i read each of the books under 24 hours, though i have to say twilight and eclipse in my opinion are the best of the series.
I agree with Hunger Games being the book I COULD NOT put down... Same with Catching Fire. Definitely my favorites for the year. The final book, Mockingjay, comes out on August 24th! Can't wait!
I loved the hunger games! It was awesome.Richelle Meads Vampire Academy series is the best. I can't wait for spirit bound to come out, doesn't it suck when we have to wait for the next books to be released!! So annoying.. I loved the mortal instruments series as well, I completely fell in love with Jace
The form to add books to the list is at the right-hand side of the page; you could vote for it. (And it may be on the list, but on another page. I haven't checked.)
"Twilight is a must read!!!!!!!!!!!! "i sooooo disagree. ihated it. when my parents wern't looking when we had a bon fire, i threw it in there.

I know a good number of people who would love you for that.
To adopt the analogy usually referable to Terry Bradshaw; "Dan brown could not spell cat if you spotted him the "t" and "c". His books are dreadful.
Eleanor wrote: "If you want to read a book that is susposedly suspose to make fun of twilight then the book SUCK IT UP is for you. I personally haven't read it but I hear it is funny." I read the book, but I didn't get the message that it was trying to make fun of twilight. It was a good book though.

I'm reading The Morganville Vampires & i read book 2 in 4 hours & other night i didn't go to bed till 2:30am as i need to finish book 5 Very hard to put down.
I have to agree with "Eleanor" Bella does sound a little helpless, but that's what the book is all about. She is supposed to be helpless and have, the big bad wolf and the good looking vampire rescue her. there is a books by Fiona McIntosh that are great. For some reason she always seems to make the women more important. I feel so good about being a women when i read her books.
Caite wrote: "Twilight is a must read!!!!!!!!!!!!"Twilight is badly written but a great story. The movie is much better than the book.

I agree with you guys... Twilight is good but not the best story though...Bella's too much of a damsel for me and Edward's...well...he denies himself to much...
vampire academy, for me,is the best!i stay late at night, barely eat, bring them wherever i go.really hard to put down.i even sleep beside them.'cause i sooooo love them!
i think the first in the twililght saga is the best one. 'kissed by an angel' sounds like a good one too.
