Sunfire Preteen/Teen Romances
"Sunfire was the name of a series of 32 young adult books put out by Scholastic, Inc. during the 1980s. The books always took place during an interesting point in American history and featured a girl who was usually ahead of her time in her attitudes and actions. The basic plot usually involved her being caught up in the particular historic event of the time while also having to choose between two suitors (rarely, this number might change). Almost always, the winning suitor was the one who approved of the heroine's liberal attitudes and who was kind of a rebel in his own right--not the family-approved kind who offered mere comfort and stability. All in all, the books were good clean fun for a young girl..."

Oh my...do I remember these growing up!! My sister and were on a quest to own every one of them. Thanks for the walk down memory lane!
I absolutely loved these books back when I was in middle school! I only read/ had access to ten or twelve of them back then (I've listed the 3 I remember as being my favorites!), but I am getting ready to read/re-read the whole series (major thank you's to the ILL department at my library!) Yeah!
My favorite series of books from when I was in Middle School and I'm currently attempting to reread!
F.Y.I.
Some of these titles are available through Paperbackswap.com if anyone is wanting to re-read them but is having trouble finding them. I have been posting all of my copies on there once I am done re-reading them.
wow can't believe these were the first romances I read and they were great! can't remember which was my fav but I remember readig marilee, kathleen, julie and elizabeth
I loved these books, too, and owned all of them except for Elizabeth! I am kicking myself now as I got rid of them when I moved away from home!!! I am so glad to see others who read these, I don't think there were many of us hence the reason they went out of print!!!
I'm glad that I found this list. I still have all my copies, although they are worn (and well loved). My favorite was Joanna.
