Just a quick note: I'd prefer if this list not contain books on poker theory, like Doyle Brunson's Super System: A Course in Power Poker, etc, because that is really a different genre of book. There is a list that I'm sure would love to have your votes on those, namely The ideal poker list for 2012 and above . Likewise, I'd like to steer clear of books on blackjack systems, winning at craps, video poker and slots techniques, etc. I enjoy those books as well and have many of them, but again I think that's a different topic.

What I'm hoping for here are non-fiction books about gamblers and gambling culture: memoirs, biography, tell-alls; and not just about poker, though I understand that's the most popular. But I know there are books out there on people who play other games, as well as memoirs by people who work in Vegas and other gambling centers (doormen, dealers, pit bosses, etc ), books about larger-than-life casino owners from the past and today, and so-forth.

Also, just a reminder the books should be non-fiction. There doesn't seem to be a list that specializes exclusively in "gambling fiction," so that might be something someone could take on, if there's interest.

Thanks for participating, it's great to have some interest in this topic. I'm hoping this list will help me learn of some new titles, and hopefully it will do the same for all of you, as well.
