SS: How would you describe your life in only 8 words?

RC: overflowing, joyful, exhilerating, crowded, fortunate, challenging, blessed

SS: What is your motto or maxim?

RC: It isn't easy to write a book that's easy to read.

SS: What’s your greatest fear?

RC: Lightning strikes and large bugs...so, why do I live in Florida???

SS: If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you choose to be?

RC: Strolling the Seine in Paris.

SS: With whom in history do you most identify?

RC: Louisa May Alcott. I used to drive by her home every morning when I lived outside of Boston and I never failed to get chills when I thought about how many young women she inspired to become writers.

SS: Which living person do you most admire?

RC: Derek Jeter - he just seems to love every minute that he has on earth.

SS: What are your most overused words or phrases?

RC: In writing? "Look." In speaking, "Like."

SS: What do you regret most?

RC: Having children so late in life that I could only have two. I would have loved to have had four or five.

SS: If you could acquire any talent, what would it be?

RC: I wish I could dance!

SS: What is your greatest achievement?

RC: Parenting - and it's work in progress.

SS: What’s your greatest flaw?

RC: The list is long, so let's just go with "insecurity."

SS: What’s your best quality?

RC: My joy.

SS: If you could be any person or thing, who or what would it be?

RC: I'm okay with who I got to be in this life. I wouldn't mind living in Angelina Jolie's body for 24 hours, but then I'd want to go back to being me.

SS: What trait is most noticeable about you?

RC: I'm pretty friendly. To everyone.

SS: Who is your favorite fictional hero?

RC: The one I'm currently writing.

SS: Who is your favorite fictional villain?

RC: The one I just conquered.

SS: What is your biggest pet peeve?

RC: Injustice

SS: What is your favorite occupation, when you’re not writing?

RC: Being Mommy.

SS: What are your 5 favorite songs?

RC: Too many to limit to five - I love all music.

SS: What’s your fantasy profession?

RC: I'd really like Christiane Amanpour's job.

SS: What 3 personal qualities are most important to you?

RC: Humor, humility, class

SS: If you could eat only one thing for the rest of your days, what would it be?

RC: Lays Classic potato chips

RC: When is the next book?

SS: Who are your favorite authors?

RC: Jane Austen, LaVyrle Spencer, Jennifer Weiner, Linda Howard, Kresley Cole, Sandra Brown and anyone who makes me forget I'm a writer and love being a reader.

SS: Is there a book you love to reread?

RC: MR. PERFECT

SS: Do you have one sentence of advice for new writers?

RC: Be prepared to give 10,000 hours just to learn, then 10,000 more to get find your voice, then 10,000 more to make it sing for you.
