I really enjoyed this book. It's a historic romance that is kind of unusual. There are a few substories running simultaneously that tie together really well. This drew me in and gave me a better feel for the era. The heroine, Rachel, is bright and believable and the love story beween she and William is really romantic. I loved the bizarre Wyndham character. I could actually 'see' him as I read the story. All the characters were like that. If you're looking for a new, fresh, historic author...more

I enjoy the characters; they are believable and intelligent. It's a really good love story with interesting historical detail.
