A great story about friendship. Wonderfully written ... "Then one day, for no apparent reason, a squirrel started some trouble." Who wouldn't be hooked by that line? Beautifully illustrated. Please give this woman a Caldecott.

Grades PK-1. Dogs Boot and Shoe do everything together except that one likes the front porch and the other likes the back. Until a crazy squirrel mixes everything up. The illustrations are beautiful, as usual-- but the story lacked the depth some of some of her earlier books.
