Read this a long time ago (10 yrs?) and really enjoyed it back then. I recently read the short story "The Pedestrian" by Ray Bradbury and when I found out it was what Farenheit 451 grew from, I decided its about time to refresh myself with the book.

I love (when I say "love," I mean "LOVE!")Ray Bradbury but I've just never been crazy about 451. My favorite part is the group in the woods that take on the names of books and live to keep them alive... that's the kind of poetic Bradbury twist that gets me every time. But I don't really care about the rest of the plot.

I saw the film first, in fact I've seen it several times. I can't say if I would've enjoyed it as much had I not already had a very clear picture of Montag in my head. That said, the fact that I did make the effort to read this particular book and not one of his many others says a lot about how important this book it.

Sometimes classics deserve to be classics. And what book lover could fail to list this book at some point, being a book about saving the world of books.
