I enjoyed this book far more than I thought I would! My only other experience with Toni Morrison was Song of Solomon in high school. As my mom can attest, I pretty much never finished a book I was assigned in high school and found that once a book was assigned for school, I almost always automatically didn't like it. I'm glad my adult re-acquaintance with Toni Morrison was through A Mercy because it's a really beautifully written, touching story. I highly recommend it!
