The Giver is another Dystopian story among so many that are prevalent nowadays. The giver was actually written in the early 90's. But, it fits right in with today's trend. I liked the novel in the fact that it is much more in tune with the internal struggles when one is part of a society with limited freedom. Love the idea of this book and the first half but didn't like the direction the author took with it. It seemed as if she couldn't follow the idea through so just let it fall apart.

I really like this book but was dissapointed at the ending. I'm not sure I really understood what happened. I was told to read the others in the series and it would make more sense.
