To truly enjoy this book you have to ignore all the rules of most western literature. You have to step outside the boundaries of linear progression where we tend to assume "this happened, then that happened, then there's a flashback because this happened as a result of that" because with this book...it is certainly not the case.

I can't tell if this book had a slow start, or if I just wasn't feelin' it when I picked it up the first time. At the time, I was already reading two other books, so that might have been why I didn't dive into it as much. I put it down once and walked away for a few weeks while I finished another book.
After having finished Rant last night, I don't know why I put it down before! It drew me back in and I really got into it. The last 1/4th of the book was a little confusing, but I still...more

I said 'Holy shit' about a million times under my breath while reading this masterpiece. Imagine Time travel..Boosting entertainment through your neural receptors directly even taste and smell...instead of watching movies...imagine the next plague that destroys humanity being rabies and lastly imagine a world that is split up into day and night to help over population...kinda like the Berlin wall.
so yeah FUCKIN CRAZY INSANE AND INSANE CRAZY!! and right up my alley

Another delightfully twisted tale with a pretty good pay-off, and I'm pretty sure this one will rank up there as one of my favorites of Chuck's novels.
I especially enjoyed the final few chapters where the whole story is boiled down to the lines society draws, and the ideas of communities being formed within those who are outcast.

Not sure...
As Palahnuik books go, this one wasn't one of my favorites. He did a good job with the oral history concept, including typical contradictions, but as a literary form it leaves a lot to be desired. By the end of this book, I was confused, but not in a good way. I look to Chuck for good stories, but this one needed more work.

I liked it. It was Palahniuk. I liked the style, the characters, the weirdness. That being said, it wasn't my favorite. It took me about a third of the book to get into it. Talk about slow starts. The ending, while interesting, seemed a bit slapdash to me, but the lead up to it was very well executed.

Read this book over the course of two days. It's got some really fantastic, and classic stuff in it. I can't say I love the ending, but I have respect for it... Still enough gems here to make it a must for any fans of Chuck P!

This was yet another great book by Chuck. Things kept getting stranger and stranger as I read on. Definitely my favorite of his so far.

Anyone with a sense of humor and a sense of humanity.
This is, by far, the most incredible work of fiction I've ever read in my life. Read it and disagree, I dare you.
