recommends it for: Anyone wanting to make bread
Sure, it gives great bread recipes, instructional techniques, etc. But the true genius of this book is that it makes you need to make the bread. Reinhart's prose provokes every creative instinct in you to bake, not just as a recipe following process, but to make your own adaptations as well.

It also gives you a feel for how actual bread bakers read instructions: by giving quantities in weight as well as cup measurements.
