I can't figure out what all the fuss has been about. I felt like pulling my hair trying to get through this book. The relationship is basically a threesome between Christian, Ana, and her subconscious/inner goddess.

I have read plenty of erotica with a strong BDSM theme in my day, but I have never seen one that ventured so close to actually being abuse, instead of the consensual act that this lifestyle is supposed to be.

I have to say that I was already having a hard time getting into the book, b...more

I had mixed feelings about this book throughout until I got to the last couple of chapters. Initially, the book was really slow, I didn't like it and I didn't think that I was even goint to finish it but I pushed on and I'm glad that I did. It started picking up just shy of the half-way point. It is so unlike any other erotica that I've read. Ana and Christian's 'relationship' (if it can even be categorized as such) has piqued my curiosity so that I must know the outcome. I have to know if more...more

This book is
• Full of uninhibited and adulterated sex. Buyer beware if you don’t like reading about kinky sexual exploits between two adults
• Not well-written (well, not in a Pulitzer Prize, poignant literature sort of way). English majors beware. Heck, anyone concerned with proper sentences and semantics beware. This book is a thesaurus full of words stumbling over each other for attention. It’s like James sifted through her book replacing mundane words with complex, pretty words in an attempt...more

Before reading this book, I heard readers say they either liked it or they didnt.
I personally could have done without it.

I completed book , only because when I start a book I finish the book to give it a chance.

The story line started out good but then it just fell apart to me.

Oh my! I Think I like this author. I was surprised that he was able to manipulate my feelings. Awe, I was sad for poor Anna and furious with Mr. Grey! Can't wait to see what's next in E L James' next Grey novel! I must now search out what other books this author has written. =)

Its only sex! However, the author is VERY compelling, and makes you want to read MORE, despite of the sex. Part of me, NEEDS to know if it is indeed NOT
ONLY THE SEX!

I'm ONLY giving this 4 stars due to do the spicy stories.

The writing itself is elementary at best.

Not sure why this book has gotten so much hype. Okay storyline and mediocre writing. But, because of the ending, I do want to see what happens in the next installment.

The erotic scenes were very well written :) Would have given it 4 stars but found the conversations in Ana's head with her subconscious very annoying. Will continue with the other two books and continue to roll my eyes!
